In 1943, Steve Rogers, a determined young man rejected from military service due to his frailty, longs to join the war effort and prove himself. At the same time, far darker forces are at work: Red Skull, with the twisted help of Kronos, the ancient Lord of Time, has devised a plan to control the very fabric of reality. Using a nuclear-powered device infused with temporal magic, they seek to rewrite history itself, reshaping the world in their image and ensuring their dominance for all eternity.
Meanwhile, Doctor Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme, senses a disturbance in the timeline—time itself is fracturing. If Red Skull and Kronos succeed, the past, present, and future will be irrevocably altered, and all hope for the future will be lost. Understanding the gravity of the situation, Strange recruits Sam Wilson, the current Captain America, and Bucky Barnes, who has been freed from his Winter Soldier conditioning, to join him on a mission through time. Their destination: 1943.
Upon arriving in the past, the team encounters a version of Steve Rogers who is still struggling to be accepted into the army. But more troubling still, they find Bucky Barnes—now a ruthless assassin, brainwashed and forced into service as the Winter Soldier, fighting for Red Skull and Kronos in the shadows of history.
With the fate of the world hanging in the balance, the team must prevent Red Skull and Kronos from completing their device and altering the past. As the timeline begins to crack under the weight of their meddling, the stakes grow higher, and the consequences of failure become unimaginable.
In a desperate, all-out battle at the heart of the Nazi facility where the time-altering device is housed, Steve, Sam, and Bucky confront their worst fears—facing not only the Nazis, but also the twisted remnants of their own pasts. In a final act of sacrifice and unity, the team destroys the device, restoring the timeline and undoing the villains' grip on history. But the victory is bittersweet, as Bucky struggles to reconcile the man he was with the man he has become.
