Jeffrey Goldberg, editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, was accidentally added to a Signal chat titled “Houthi PC small group” on March 11, where top Trump officials, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, discussed upcoming US strikes on Yemen. The chat detailed attack timings, weapons, and real-time target updates. While Trump officials denied sharing classified information, Goldberg described a “minute-by-minute” strike plan. The Atlantic published the messages, sparking controversy. Democrats demanded Hegseth’s resignation, and Congress questioned intelligence officials. The White House dismissed the report as a “hoax,” but concerns over operational security remain high.
