The global response to confront the COVID-19 pandemic is disrupting efforts to fight another deadly pandemic: HIV-AIDS. Today, December 1st, is World AIDS Day. More than 12 million people around the world are waiting for access to treatment for the life-threatening condition, which has no cure. The global vaccine effort to combat Covid-19 is moving more quickly, but it is also slowing down decades of progress toward eliminating HIV-AIDS.
