Accept the fact that you won’t be perfect at first. This is easier said than done, but the pursuit of perfectionism is going to cause you to stay on the sidelines for fear of making a mistake. Remember, no one was perfect in the beginning! The only way to get better is to start.
Remember who is watching. Your child, your partner, your peers--everyone. They learn and react to the way you act. You have a greater impact than you think!
Acknowledge that it is okay to be afraid. It is real—it can impact your life. Until you admit it, you can’t defeat it. However, do not allow it to determine your reaction.
Trust the process and the preparation. Whatever your goal, if you have done the proper amount of preparation and have a process that has been thought out, tested, and researched, trust it. Now, execute.
