This is not a club. 这里可不是什么夜店 This is a square in China when night falls. 而是夜幕降临时的中国广场 Nothing will bother me anymore. 把烦恼统统都甩走 I can imagine the retired me competing for the lead dancer. 我已经能想象退休之后的我去竞争领舞了 I feel like I'm getting it. 我觉得我掌握住要领了 No, I'm wrong. 不我没有 How do you feel about it? 你感觉如何 Easy. 小菜一碟 What you are looking at is the best dancing pool of the city. 你正看到的是城市中最热闹的舞池 But...this is just an empty square in the daytime. 但是白天这里只是个空荡荡的广场 Hi everyone! 大家好 We are Unboxing China! 欢迎来到开箱中国 I'm Box. 我是Box. Today we will check out the magical squares of China. 今天我们要体验一下超“魔性”的中国广场 Let's go! 我们出发吧 It's a little bit scary for me. 它有点吓到我了 Yeah, it is very scary. 是啊它相当恐怖 That's very loud. 声响好大啊 Yeah, it's deafening. 是的简直是震耳欲聋 At first, I thought he created that sound by wiping at the ground, but it actually happened in the air. 我以为那个声响是鞭子甩地时发出的其实是在空中产生的 And I first thought it could be quite easy. 我一开始还觉得挺简单的 And that's not the case. 结果发现并不是那么回事 Yeah, we can see that. 是啊看出来了 I was so afraid of hurting myself and that's quite hard to find the right timing. 我好怕抽到自己很难把握合适的甩鞭时机 So all you can see is me making many failed attempts. 所以你们看我就没成功过 Yeah. That guy is really good. 这位大哥身手真是矫捷 He can do all sorts of tricks. 他能玩出好多种花样来 People call it "exercising dragon dance", because most of the ribbons take a dragon shape. 大家把这项运动称为“健身龙” 因为大多用到龙形的绸带 You can see, that's a dragon head over here. 你们看那里有个龙头 Box’s learning very fast. Liz这是你第一次跳广场舞吗 No, not at all. 并不是 I did it like...five years ago! 我五年前就跳过 Oh wow, that's a long time! 哇那是很久以前了呢 How about you, Nancy? 你呢Nancy Actually it's my first time actually trying square dancing, but I've been seeing people doing it for like...forever. 这是我第一次跳广场舞 但是我看别人跳很久了 But today seeing those ladies getting so engaged in the movements, with big smiles, and seeing the whole group dancing so elegantly. 但是当我看到他们那么专注笑容灿烂 动作优雅 Yeah, they are indeed shinning. 是啊他们看起来闪闪发光 Yeah, I know. 是吧！ So I can't help joining them. 所以我就情不自禁地加入了他们 We learned the dances from professionals 我们从专业老师那里学习舞蹈 and once we started, we couldn't stop. 然后一发不可收拾 We've been dancing for eight years. 我们跳了八年了 It makes us healthier 身体好 and more lighthearted. 精神好 We feel happier, too. 而且心情舒畅 Forever young like you guys. 像你们一样永远年轻 What I really love about square dancing is that it's truly inclusive. 我最喜欢广场舞的一点在于它很包容 No boundaries, no barriers to entry. 没有门槛谁都可以来跳 Yeah, definitely. 是啊 In our team, we have college professors, 这边有大学教授 business owners 有大老板 and people from all walks of life. 反正各行各业的 The age of our members 小到20大到88 ranges from 20 to 88. 我们这支队伍 It's always great to spend time doing something that you truly love, with a group of people that share the same passion. 能够和一群怀有同样热情的人一起做一件自己喜爱的事真的棒极了 By exercising together, they form a quite close relationship. 一起健身让大家关系更近 Yeah, they're good friends. 没错大家都是好朋友 And they normally live in nearby neighborhoods, and today they can keep in touch online through WeChat. 而且他们一般都住得很近如今也可以通过微信保持联系 Yeah, WeChat groups. 比如可以建个群聊聊天 Yes. And now they are more or less like a family. 现在他们就像家人一样 These exercises have strong social element attached to it. 所以说广场舞有着浓厚的社交元素 That evening we walked past more than a dozen groups 那天晚上我们路过了好几拨人 square dancing, 他们有的在跳广场舞 and ribbon dancing, 有的在舞健身龙 You tried it. 就是你尝试的那个 And whipping, 还有的在甩鞭 and even singing Karaoke. 甚至还有人在唱卡拉OK All those groups are extremely welcoming, with stages opening to anyone at any time. 他们都相当热情随时欢迎任何人加入 Such robust scenes are seen not only here in Beijing, but in almost every Chinese city and town. 这样热闹的场景不止在北京可以看到几乎全中国大大小小的城市都有 Yeah, they have that in my hometown as well. 是的在我家乡就有 And more young people like us are enjoying China's vibrant square exercises. 而且越来越多像我们一样的年轻人也开始加入中国丰富多彩的广场健身运动之中 They are not sports for "grannies" any more, like they were referred to in the past. 这些项目不再像以前所说的那样是“大妈们”的专长 They are now sports for all of us. 如今它们都成为了全民健身的一部分 Especially now that people are enjoying better lives. 尤其是如今人们的生活越来越好 They're valuing more a healthy lifestyle, like us. 大家更加注重健康的生活方式我们也是一样 Post-dinner exercising is much loved by people of all ages. 无论是老一辈还是年轻人大家都喜欢在晚饭后出门锻炼 Just a bit of data here: China’s fitness industry is booming, saw around a 160% increase in the past five years in terms of the market size for fitness clubs and studios. 来看一组数据：过去的五年里，中国的健身业蓬勃发展健身房市场增长了约160% And here we are talking about exercises on the square, which also serves people’s needs of stress relieving and friend making. 我们讨论的广场运动还能满足人们解压和社交的需求 So you can get an idea of how popular they are. 所以你能想象到它有多么受欢迎了吧 All the dynamic scenes we’ve witnessed are made possible by China’s spacious, well-equipped sports venues that scatters in China’s cities and towns, squares included. 我们看到的这些蓬勃活跃的健身场景 得益于散落在中国大小城镇中宽敞又设备齐全的运动场所比如广场 China now has nearly 4 million public sports venues, and China is seeing an 18% increase in the 14th Five-Year Plan period. 中国目前有体育场地近400万块 而且在“十四五”期间将实现18%的增长 Wow, that's quite impressive. 这可真是了不起 On those squares, we are shaping our body and shaking off negativity in our lives. 广场让我们身心健康跟所有烦恼说拜拜 We felt it when we stood on the square, feeling the dynamic, happy vibe in the air. 站在广场上就能感受到那种活力和快乐 And what's the most interesting is that, the square we visited was right next to China's national stadium, where the 2008 Olympics was held. 而最有趣的是我们去的这个广场就在中国国家体育场旁边2008年奥运会就是在那里举办的 So here's some Olympic-related takeaways from that square: do what you are truly love, stick to it and enjoy it. 我们也想分享一些和奥运有关的体会做你真正热爱的事情坚持下去享受每一秒 No matter your age, occupation or gender. 无论年龄职业或性别 That is the Olympic spirit. 这就是奥林匹克精神 Yeah, indeed. 可不是嘛
