炸鱼薯条（fish and chips）是英国家喻户晓、备受欢迎的一道美食。英国首相鲍里斯也曾公开表示过他对炸鱼薯条的热爱。

然而，因为近日英国政府对俄罗斯的制裁，英国人可能连炸鱼薯条也要吃不上了……

据香港《南华早报》3月23日报道，由于对俄罗斯的制裁等因素，英国标志性的炸鱼薯条店可能面临数十年来最严重的打击。

代表炸鱼薯条行业的官方机构——英国“炸鱼工联合会”称，如果英国政府不提供帮助，英国10500家炸鱼薯条店中近一半的店，恐怕只能关店或者转型去卖炸鸡或烤肉串了。

The National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF), the official body that represents the fish and chip industry, is warning that up to half the country's 10,500 operators may shut or convert into chicken or kebab takeaways unless the UK government helps.

3月15日，英国政府网发布声明，宣布对俄罗斯实施新的经济制裁，并将公布一份涵盖价值9亿英镑俄罗斯出口商品的初步清单，对清单上的商品加征35%的关税，这其中就包括俄罗斯鱼类。在这份声明中，英国政府写道，“所选的这些产品将对俄罗斯经济造成最大损害，同时使对英国的影响最小化（minimizing the impact on the UK）”。

These products have been selected to inflict maximum damage on the Russian economy while minimising the impact on the UK: Iron, steel, fertilisers,wood, tyres, railway containers, cement, copper, aluminium, silver,lead, iron ore, residue/food waste products, beverages, spirits and vinegar (this includes vodka), glass and glassware, cereals, oil seeds, paper and paperboard, machinery, works of art, antiques, fur skins and artificial fur, ships and white fish.

然而，这波制裁如今已经影响到了英国本土。

英国“炸鱼工联合会”主席克鲁克透露，炸鱼薯条所使用的原材料鳕鱼（cod）和黑线鳕鱼（haddock），其实有一半是从俄罗斯进口的。如今，他们确实无法找到合适的替代供应渠道。

“俄罗斯是巴伦支海的一个非常大的渔业国家，如果失去它（来自俄罗斯的白鱼进口），鱼类价格将大幅上涨，甚至超过当前已经破纪录的高价。”

英国“炸鱼工联合会”主席克鲁克说：“鱼类达到有史以来最高价格——这都是在制裁俄罗斯鱼类之前。我们的鳕鱼和黑线鳕一半都是从俄罗斯进口的。”

"The cost of fish is the highest it's ever been – and this is all before the effects of sanctions on the Russian fish, which constitute half of our cod and haddock," NFFF President Andrew Crook said.

不仅炸鱼薯条的鱼面临断货危机，用来炸鱼的葵花籽油也出现了类似的问题。

据《每日邮报》报道，俄罗斯和乌克兰是葵花籽油的重要出口国，在全球市场占比超过50%，如今这种油的价格正在飙升。此外，由于今年葵花籽油供应将大幅减少，替代食用油的价格也在迅速上涨。

The price of oil used in deep fat fryers is surging because Ukraine and Russia account for more than 50 per cent of the world's production of sunflower seeds.

With sunflower oil supply set to be squeezed dramatically this year, the price of alternative forms of cooking oil is also rising rapidly.

英国一家卖炸鱼薯条餐厅的老板艾伦·史蒂文森无奈感叹，“鱼和油的成本简直可以用巨大来形容，让人难以置信（it's unreal）。”

他透露，自己店里的鱼主要来自于俄罗斯和冰岛，过去12个月，一箱鳕鱼的价格上涨了50英镑（约合人民币421元）。

His shop's fish comes from both Russia and Iceland, but over the last 12 months the price of a box of cod has increased by £50.

去年3月，他购买一箱50条鳕鱼需要花费160英镑（约合人民币1346元），如今，他得花费210英镑（约合人民币1767元）。

This time last year, he was paying around £160 for a box of 50 fish. Now he pays £210.

其实，在乌克兰危机之前，英国的餐饮业就已经面临很大压力，如今可谓雪上加霜。据《南华早报》报道，英国脱欧及新冠疫情造成通货膨胀、营业成本飙升及关键食材难以获取等，这使得英国数百家餐馆关闭。

Even before the Ukraine crisis, UK restaurants and takeaways complained of pressures. Inflation, cost and availability of key ingredients as well as other Brexit and COVID-19 pandemic impacts have resulted in hundreds of restaurant closures in the UK.
