When Skechers says they've revolutionized how you put on and take off your shoes, they aren't kidding. I just got my first pair of hands-free Skechers slip-ins, and I want them in every color. You literally just step into your Skechers slip-ins, and they're on. No bending, no struggling. They're fantabulous. I came up with that word.

Feet gently slide in thanks to an invisible built-in shoe horn. A heel pillow feature keeps your foot secure. Slip-ins come in athletic and casual styles for men, women, and kids. They even have sandals with special features and fits like Skechers air-cooled memory foam, arch fit, relaxed fit, wide fit. Once your feet have experienced hands-free Skechers slip-ins, they won't want to wear any other shoe. They certainly exceeded my expectations.

You can find Skechers at Skechers.com slash Dr. Laura or Skechers.com. Use the promo code Dr. Laura. Valid for 20% off site-wide. Standard exclusions apply. Valid March 5th through May 30th, 2025.

Time now for a refresher from my Dr. Laura Call of the Day archives. Remember, you can hear my live radio program weekdays 2 to 5 p.m. Eastern Time on Sirius XM Triumph 111. Virginia, welcome to the program. Hello, Dr. Laura. What can I do for you? In 2017, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and had surgery.

And ever since then, my blood tests have been normal until I got a phone call December 16th from my oncologist saying that my C125 has elevated above normal. And I've had three blood tests and a CAT scan since then. And they can't see anything on my CAT scan.

to verify where that cancer might have spread to. I have my mother who is quite fragile. She's 86 years old. So I'm just wondering if I should tell her. When you say she's very fragile, what does that mean? She's her youngest son three years ago.

Passed away from meningitis. My uncle, six months after that. No, you're telling me tragedies, but you're not telling me what makes her fragile. We can go through a lot of tragedies and not be fragile. Certainly upset, but not necessarily fragile. Two years ago, just before the pandemic, my mom fell in her kitchen, broke her neck, her shoulder, and her back. Oh, sorry, not her back, her hip.

And spent quite a few months. Okay, you haven't answered my question. What makes you think she's fragile? She's had a lot of tragedies, but that doesn't mean she's too fragile to mother her daughter. I just came from her house wanting to put her, she's got to go into a home. Okay, I'm not going to ask the question again because you just keep running away. If you don't want to tell your mother, don't tell your mother.

That's it. I went to school a lot of years to say that. Yeah. I guess I'm scared to tell her. Maybe I'm scared to face it myself. That's right. Brilliant. Thank you. Absolutely. That's why I kept pushing you. Even with all those tragedies, very likely, she's not dead. She'd probably still like to be your mom. Yeah. But it's kind of scary because it puts like a vow around that there's a problem. Yeah. Yeah.

But on the assumption there might be, because now we have conflicting reports. Yeah. You need your mommy. I know. But if I were on my last five breaths, I'd be so upset if my son thought he couldn't come to me for comfort. Did you know that skin care can start in the laundry room?

Amazon Pharmacy presents Painful Thoughts.

20 more minutes to kill in the pharmacy before my prescription is ready. Maybe I'll grab some deeply discounted out-of-season Halloween candy. Hmm, I never had a chocolate pumpkin with raisins before. Those were raisins, right? Next time use Amazon Pharmacy. We deliver. And no, those were not raisins. Amazon Pharmacy. Healthcare just got less painful. Three distinct all-electric Cadillacs.

I thought I'm protecting her, but maybe I'm protecting myself from. Yep. Thank you. That's exactly right. That's exactly right. And it is scary. You thought this was behind you and it probably, or I shouldn't say probably, and perhaps it is, but you're getting a scare right now. And when we're scared, having somebody hug us, hold us helps. Yeah. Let your mommy be your mommy.

Thank you. I will. So just tell her I got a test thing that's weird and I really need a mommy hug. And she'd be so grateful at her age, in her ill health, to still be able to be your mom. That's going to make her feel better. I hope so. I don't want to hurt my mom. Well, I think you hurt her by telling her you're putting her out to emotional pasture. Yes, you're right.

you're right hi you're too old and frail you can't be any use to me might as well die i will tell her tonight ask her to hug you that's what you're going to do you're not telling her about a test result you're saying you're scared and you need a mommy hug i'm scared that's what you're going to her with i'm scared yeah thank you dr laura you're welcome honey and i hope this turns out to be just a error
