I have a question about living a good life. I don't want to waste the life that I have, and I need some advice on being brave.

So a little bit of background. I was married for about 12 years and it was an abusive and violent marriage and I'm out and safe. And I spent 10 years being a single mom to three kids and I lived in survival mode, just getting through day to day.

And I went back to school and I found a good job and my children are grown. And I got remarried a few years ago.

And I have a really great husband who is my biggest cheerleader and loves me. And I'm finding it a little bit difficult to live a life that is problem free for the most part. And going from survival mode. Me too. Me too. I'm finding it very difficult to lead a life that is totally problem free. No, can't do it.

That's an unreasonable expectation. When you have a lot of options, it's almost too much. It's almost a little overwhelming. So I wonder if... I'm sorry, what options are you talking about? You're already married. You already have a kid. What options are you talking about?

Options like I can go back to school or I can, you know, I have options to move. I have options that I didn't have when I was just surviving day to day. And I want to be courageous, but I'm scared. This is a new thing for me. Whether you had a bad marriage or not, you'd probably be scared of going back to school. That's true. New and change is scary. You're right. Right.

And so what does anybody do? They go register, they go to class, and they sit there and be nervous until they get more familiar with it, make some connections with people, get some good grades, and they start feeling better. This is life that I think you were avoiding getting a controlling man in the first place. There might be some truth to that, yeah. Yeah. I'm taking it in. Mostly, I mean, he went into overdrive being an insane person. But having a controlling man, you didn't have to make choices.

And I think that made you feel safer. Yeah. That's a lot to take in. A lot to think about. Remember, most everything is changeable now. You can start something, stay with it, not stay with it. It doesn't make you stupid or lazy. It just makes you human. Yeah. Well, thank you. You're welcome. You can always call back after you give this a lot of thought.
