Ukraine officially cuts off the flow of natural gas through a major pipeline from Russia to Europe. The move nearly three years into the war is part of Kyiv's efforts to further strain Russian finances as Moscow's forces continue to make significant advances. The cutoff is projected to cost Russia $6.5 billion annually, adding to the economic toll from international sanctions.
With only one remaining pipeline delivering Russian gas to Europe, the disruption and possible price hikes could accelerate efforts by European countries to abandon Russian energy altogether. However, the decision comes at a cost to Ukraine as well. Kyiv stands to lose $800 million annually in transit fees.
In London, Greg Malcott, Fox News. A girl's coughing triggers terrifying moments for passengers on a jet over Europe and for the reaction from her seatmate. Uneasy passengers on the easy jet flight from Turkey to London feared for their lives after a 10-year-old girl suffered a coughing fit and the teenage girl sitting next to her threw a tantrum. The younger girl's mother tried to intervene, but passengers say then the 16-year-old really lost it, shouting at the crew, storming to the
back of the plane trying to open the emergency exit until she broke the handle. The Sun reports when a crew member pulled her away, she started screaming, threatened to stab them, then ran back up the aisle until she collided so hard with a woman they burst into the cockpit door.
EasyJet says that's when the pilots decided to make an emergency landing for safety reasons in Bari, Italy, where the teenager was led away by police. Therese Crowley, Fox News.
