I'm Jim Osman, Fox News. The family and friends of the late President Jimmy Carter held a funeral for him at the Carter Center in Atlanta. His remains traveling by hearse and making several stops across his home state of Georgia today. Friends like the center's David Carroll remembering him fondly. To the values of trust, honesty, engagement, and a commitment to try to make the world a better place. That's really, at the end of the day, what President Carter has always been about.
The public will have some time to pay their respects to the president in his home state and in Washington. Jimmy Carter will lie in repose at the Carter Presidential Center for the next three days before his remains are transported to Washington on Tuesday, where he will lie in state at the U.S. Capitol. That's Fox's Connor Hanson reporting there.
Meantime, President Biden is set to visit New Orleans after Wednesday's deadly terrorist attack as critics place blame on his administration's policy. The president was asked, had he spoken to any of the victim's families? Yes, I have. What have they told you? What have their reflections been? Thank you, press. Thank you.
After an ISIS-inspired terrorist attack on Bourbon Street, critics say the FBI has taken its eye off the ball in recent years, prioritizing issues like grandmothers praying outside abortion clinics over terrorism. Now, speaking to graduates of Howard University back in 2023, Biden said white supremacy was the biggest terrorist threat in the U.S. I followed up in the briefing room. Thanks, guys. Thank you, everybody.

But the conviction would still stand and give Trump the chance to appeal the case. Trump's spokesman sounded off, calling the entire case a witch hunt, saying there should be no sentence, saying that Trump must be allowed to continue the presidential transition process. They want to see if they can get a pound of flesh because every case has failed. Other cases against the president-elect have recently been dropped, including his classified document mishandling case.
President Joe Biden awards the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor, one final time before he departs the White House. The president praised the honorees and their contributions to America. For the final time as president, I have the honor of bestowing the Medal of Freedom on our nation's highest civilian honor, on a group of extraordinary, truly extraordinary people who gave their sacred effort, their sacred effort, to shape the culture and the cause of America.
