Nuclear negotiations off to a good start. Fox News, I'm Jane Fergus. High praise all around for the first round of nuclear talks between the U.S. and Iran. Iran's foreign minister called the discussions constructive and promising. Oman's top diplomat who hosted both leaders in Oman said, quote, I would like to thank my two colleagues for this engagement, which took place in a
friendly atmosphere conducive to bridging viewpoints and ultimately achieving regional and global peace, security and stability. We'll continue to work together and put further efforts to assist in arriving at this goal. And here was President Trump once again aboard Air Force One talking about what he wants to see from Iran. I want them not to have a nuclear weapon. I want Iran to be a wonderful, great, happy country.
Iran officials said after the two-hour meeting in Oman, they'd like to meet again next week. That's Fox's Lucas Tomlinson reporting from the White House. A judge has ruled that pro-Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil can face deportation for his role in Columbia University campus protests.
Fox's C.B. Cotton has the latest. Mahmoud Khalil's attorneys are expected to file applications to try and stop his deportation. The judge cited a memo from Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who wrote that Khalil's beliefs, statements or associations would compromise U.S. foreign policy interest in court proceedings.
Khalil's attorneys slammed that memo and argued the government is violating Khalil's right to free speech. The Trump administration is counting the ruling a win. Secretary Kristi Noem writing, quote, it is a privilege to be granted a visa or green card to live and study in the United States of America. Khalil's team of attorneys have until April 23rd to file relief applications. America's listening to Fox News.

Electronics imported to the U.S. will be exempt from President Trump's reciprocal tariffs, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Smartphones, computer monitors and various electronic parts, including semiconductors, will all be excluded. Analysts say big tech firms are breathing a sigh of relief because consumers were worried about huge price increases, especially from electronics from China.
Former Vice President Kamala Harris is reportedly making a comeback after losing the 2024 election. Fox's Madeline Rivera has more. The former VP is trying to figure out how to best serve the Democratic Party, which is struggling with an identity crisis. She's reportedly been working the phones, chatting with donors and congratulating activists, for instance.

Her allies telling Vanity Fair they don't think she was the problem last year and that she had the right message. Fox has told Harris might not decide whether to run for governor until the end of summer, but some Democrats say she should not be waiting that long.
Harris is reportedly working on a book as well. The Trump administration is ending the protected status for thousands of Afghans who entered the U.S. after its withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021 under the Biden administration. The Department of Homeland Security doesn't plan to renew Afghans temporary protected status, which right now lasts longer.
