The special government employee term for Elon Musk is expiring, but President Trump says the leading figure of Doge will remain a presence. With the support of the president and Congress, could we achieve $20 of savings? I think so. We're on track to do so. Doge claims to have identified nearly $200 billion in savings so far. The judge's order directs numerous federal agencies to stop acting on the workforce executive order signed in February and a subsequent memo signed by the Department of Government Efficiency and Office of Personnel Management. President Trump now back at the White House after holding a rally with U.S. steel workers outside Pittsburgh where he announced a deal between U.S. Steel and Japan-based Nippon Steel, though he says it hasn't been finalized. I have to approve the final deal with Nippon Steel.
And we haven't seen that part of the deal yet. The president said Nippon's deal has made a very big investment and a very big commitment in the deal. The president also announced a plan to double tariffs on foreign steel. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth in Singapore for a defense conference with U.S. allies in Asia, where he said they would not be left alone to face increasing military and economic pressure from China. The threat China poses is real and it could be imminent. We hope not.

PBS has sued the Trump administration over the executive order that it be stripped of federal funding. The suit says the argument by the president that PBS is biased against conservatives is viewpoint discrimination and he overstepped his authority.
A teenager is in custody for a South Carolina party boat shooting that left 11 people injured. Horry County police say a 19-year-old is expected to be extradited from Lake County, Illinois, back to South Carolina to face charges including several counts of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
The teen arrested in connection to a Sunday night shooting on a dock after a three-hour party cruise in Little River, northeast of Myrtle Beach. According to officials, 10 people were wounded by gunfire, mostly on the lower parts of their body, and one person was hurt by a falling speaker. It's unclear what led to the violence. Police believe only one person fired the shots, but are still investigating and say more people could face charges.
