More than 12,000 homes and other structures have been destroyed. There's so many people here in the Palisades, in Malibu, just to the south of me here, and in Altadena, which was the site of a terrible firestorm too. Thousands of people are going to have a very long road ahead of them. It's hard to see how this comes back to

in certainly not in months. Probably it's going to take years. Fox's Jonathan Hunt, the fires have killed more than 20 people with crews still searching burned out homes. Fox Corporation is supporting families impacted by the wildfires with a $1 million donation to Red Cross relief efforts.

Confirmation hearings begin tomorrow for some of the president-elect's nominees, including Pete Hegseth to be defense chief and interior secretary nominee Doug Burgum. Democrats say some nominees aren't ready for hearings yet. Background checks and paperwork are not complete.

The top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, Mark Warner of Virginia, is not ready to pull the trigger. Gabbard previously criticized something called FISA Section 702. But Gabbard's recent comments satisfied some concerns about FISA. Fox's Chad Pergram on Capitol Hill. Gabbard now signaling support for the surveillance program after updates aimed at protecting civil liberties and whistleblowers.

Parts of the Northeast U.S. are preparing for another round of big snow, possibly one to two feet. Nearly a million people in northern New York State are under winter warnings in the fourth major lake effect snow event this season. Forecasters say multiple rounds of lake effect snow are expected to hit the region between Erie, Pennsylvania to near Buffalo, New York.

Snow squalls are forecast for both states and could dump up to two feet in some areas, which could affect travel. That area has already seen some of the most snow in the country. Erie has already gotten more than 81 inches of snow this season, while Buffalo has gotten almost 30. New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced on Sunday that...

crews across the state are preparing to deal with the snow. In New York, Tanya J. Powers, Fox News.
