Some evacuation orders lifted. I'm Carmen Roberts, Fox News. Los Angeles County deputies say about 15,000 people near the Hughes fire got the all clear to return home Thursday, but more than 16,000 are still under evacuation orders with nearly 39,000 told to be ready.

Firefighters have slowed the fire spread, now 36% contained. Unlike in the early hours of the deadly Eden and Palisades fires earlier this month, firefighters were able to attack from above. Firefighting aircraft flew rounds for hours, picking up water from Lake Castaic and making drops on stubborn spot fires.

as the fight against the flames continued across the L.A. area. Fox's Jonathan Hunt. Meantime, in San Diego County, more fires erupted, briefly triggering evacuations. President Trump plans to tour the wildfire devastation in the L.A. area on Friday.

Ahead of that, he'll visit Western North Carolina, still dealing with the ravages of what was Hurricane Helene. The president signed more executive orders Thursday from pardoning some anti-abortion protesters to declassifying any remaining documents from the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.,

South Korea's military said Friday it suspects North Korea is preparing to send additional troops to Russia after soldiers fighting in the war against Ukraine suffered heavy casualties.

During part two of his interview with Fox's Sean Hannity, President Trump discussed the Russia-Ukraine war. Biden did a horrible, horrible job in allowing that war to start. It should have never started. It would have never started. It wasn't even tough. But the president also suggested that Ukraine's President Zelensky should not have fought back when Russia invaded. First of all, he's fighting a much bigger entity.

OK, much bigger. America's listening to Fox News.

President Trump strips security details from several former administration members. A congressional staffer and a person familiar with the matter confirming to the Associated Press that President Trump revoked the security protection from his former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and his top aide Brian Hook.

According to the Biden administration, both Pompeo and Hook have faced threats from Iran for actions during President Trump's first administration, including a drone strike in 2020 that killed an influential Iranian general. President Trump also stripping the security clearance and Secret Service protection from his former national security advisor, John Bolton, who has also been targeted by Iran. Bolton says he's disappointed but not surprised by the decision.

Kristen Goodwin, Fox News. Spirit Airlines imposes a new dress code on passengers. The budget airline says it will ban flyers for sporting trashy looks. The new rules say guests will not be permitted to board the aircraft if they're barefoot or inadequately dressed.

An anti-discrimination lawsuit involving Native American students in New Mexico will move forward. The case goes back to 2018 when a teacher in the state's largest school district in Albuquerque was accused of cutting off a Native American girl's hair and asking another if she was dressed as a bloody Indian on Halloween. The ACLU of New Mexico sued the district on behalf of the students.

Outrage over the girl's treatment prompted legislation cracking down on discrimination based on a person's hairstyle. The state Supreme Court on Thursday cleared the way for the lawsuit to proceed, affirming a 2023 decision by an appellate court which found public schools are a place of public accommodation under New Mexico's anti-discrimination law.

Tom Rigotti, Fox News. And the S&P 500 closed at a record as President Trump pushes for lower interest rates and cheaper oil. The Dow jumped 408 points. The Nasdaq rose 44. I'm Carmen Roberts, and this is Fox News.
