Francis suffered a stroke. He went into a coma and he died of heart failure. He was 88 years old. His death triggered the long series of events that will play out over the coming days and weeks to come to select a new pope and, of course, to honor the late pontiff. Cardinals under age 75 will choose the next pope by secret ballot.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth rejects media allegations of more signal group chat sensitive information. Fox's Alexandria Hoff on his Fox & Friends interview. The secretary said that he believes that others in that group chat outside of family members with an ax to grind leaked the information to the New York Times. When you dismiss people who you believe are leaking classified information, and again, the investigation is ongoing and that will take time, and when the evidence produced it will go to DOJ, why would it surprise anybody, Brian, if those very same people
keep leaking to the very same reporters whatever information they think they can have to try to sabotage the agenda of the president or the secretary. Hegseth did not deny that the signal chat existed, but said the information was not classified, though NBC News is reporting that Hegseth used his personal phone to relay some information on fighter jet flight times, which could have compromised pilot safety. Secretary of State Marco Rubio rolling out a massive overhaul of the State Department, which would also consolidate more than 100 bureaus.

charge after investigators say she hit her boyfriend, Boston police officer John O'Keefe, with her SUV back in 2022. Investigators say Karen Reed drove off, leaving John to die in the snow. Reed says she only dropped him off at a friend's party and did nothing wrong.
The teenager charged with the stabbing death of an athlete at a Texas track meet has been moved to an undisclosed location. A Dallas civil rights group says Carmelo Anthony is in a safe location pointing to an alarming increase in death threats, harassment and physical intimidation targeting the family's home.
The Next Generation Action Network shared images and videos it claims shows loitering, false food deliveries, disturbing mailings, including Austin Metcalf's obituary. Metcalf is the 17-year-old who was killed when police say Anthony, also 17, stabbed him in the chest.
