They are lowering the reciprocal tariffs to 10% on Chinese imports.
and then adding the additional 20% regarding the fentanyl emergency. Yeah, I think they're going to follow through. I think they want it very badly. I think they want the deal very badly. Again, this doesn't include the steel tariffs. This breakthrough agreement allows the ships that are right now stuck in the Chinese harbors to now come to the United States and sell their goods. The Trump administration says the tariff plans are a response to decades of unfair trade on the U.S. Critics claim, though, the president's tariff's agenda creating economic uncertainty and fears a recession.

Our country has the highest drug prices anywhere in the world by sometimes a factor of five, six, seven, eight times.
The president says the U.S. is subsidizing lower drug prices around the world. His order could force pharmaceutical makers to sell prescription drugs under Medicare and Medicaid for less. Industry representatives warn threats to profits will limit the ability to research new drugs.

Some, though, in the Trump administration don't feel the same way. Fox's Lauren Simonetti with more. Lawmakers are trying to get that massive legislation package to enact the Trump agenda done and
address the nation's borrowing at the same time. The Treasury Secretary, Scott Besson, has echoed the president's call. Just raise the debt ceiling. In fact, Besson wrote a letter to the Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, flagging, hey, Congress is going to be in recess in August. The debt ceiling was last addressed in 2023 when Congress suspended it until January 1st, 2025 under the Fiscal Responsibility Act.
