Las Vegas bombing was a suicide mission. On Jack Callahan, Fox News. Las Vegas police revealing the driver of the Tesla Cybertruck that blew up outside the Trump Hotel had a gunshot wound to the head and a revolver at his feet.
It all happened within 17 seconds of his arrival. Las Vegas Sheriff Kevin McMayhill says the driver has been tentatively identified as Matthew Littlesburger, a decorated U.S. Special Forces soldier. I do still not have confirmation 100% that that is the individual that was inside of our vehicle. They're waiting for DNA confirmation. The FBI has been searching a home in Colorado Springs thought to be tied to Littlesburger, but they say they have not yet identified a motive.
The city of New Orleans has reopened Bourbon Street to the public after the FBI said Wednesday's truck attack on pedestrians was a lone wolf operation. Investigators now believe that the suspect in this attack acted alone, which is a big departure from what officials were saying throughout the day yesterday. And we're told that that change is due to the evidence that they have gathered and been looking at so far. And that includes hundreds of interviews they've conducted.
The suspect's digital footprint and electronic devices that they've gone through, including the call logs from three different cell phones. And so far, the FBI says they have not found anything to indicate that anybody was helping him in this attack. Fox's Garrett Tenney, the medical examiner, now says there were 14 victims of the truck ramming. Suspect Shamsud Din Jabbar, shot to death by police, was the 15th body. The FBI says there is nothing to suggest the two New Year's attacks were connected to one another.
The first economic report of the new year says the number of Americans applying for unemployment checks fell last week to the lowest level since March, down by 9,000. There are now 1.84 million Americans getting jobless benefits. But Wall Street started the new year in the red, the Dow losing 152 points, NASDAQ down 30, the S&P 500 dropped 13.

President-elect Trump expected to hold a big Washington rally the day before he's sworn in as the 47th president. Being billed as a victory rally, it's to be held at the Capital One Arena in Washington on January 19th. Israel's military forces say they've killed a Hamas security director with an airstrike in Gaza. Local authorities say those strikes killed at least 26 people.
