Rain is forecast to fall in California this weekend as wildfires continue to rage in the Los Angeles area, as Fox's Christina Coleman reports. People are concerned because that could trigger mudslides. Yesterday, crews positioned sandbags along the PCH to try and contain potential runoff from the rain. FEMA says instead of sucking up all the precipitation and rain, soil in fire-ravaged areas can develop a top layer that actually repels

compels water due to all the burned material in the area, which could lead to flooding and mudslides and debris flows full of hazardous materials. Also, post-fire flooding can be unpredictable because changes to the soil from the fire are not always obvious. At least three major fires are still burning in Southern California and at least 28 people have been killed.

Four female Israeli hostages released today, part of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. They were paraded through Palestine Square in Gaza City by Hamas before being handed over to the Red Cross and driven to an IDF checkpoint inside Gaza. They were then taken to a reunification center along the border where they met their parents. They were then flown here to Tel Aviv where they're being evaluated again.

at a hospital by doctors and psychologists. They were held inside Gaza for 477 days. So seeing these helicopters land here in central Israel really sent a sigh of relief across this population. They weren't sure up until this week if these women were dead or alive. Fox's Trey Yinkster reporting from Tel Aviv says the hostages were exchanged for 200 Palestinian prisoners.

The White House instructs the Pentagon to release the hold imposed by the Biden administration on supplying 2,000-pound bombs to Israel. More than a dozen independent inspectors general at government agencies have been fired by the administration, effective immediately, although some members of Congress say the law requires they be given 30 days' notice before the government watchdogs are removed. I'm Jack Kelley, and this is Fox News.
