Rallying around Ukraine, I'm Daria Albinger, Fox News. Two days after a White House meeting between Presidents Trump and Zelensky devolved into a shouting match, leaders from Europe, Canada and NATO met today to talk about Ukraine's future and their own. British Prime Minister Keir Stormer says they can't do it alone. To support peace in our continent and to succeed, this effort must have strong U.S. backing.
We're working with the US on this point after my meeting with President Trump last week. And let me be clear, we agree with the President on the urgent need for a durable peace.
Now we need to deliver together. Starmer says Europe is at a crossroads in history and that it must do the heavy lifting to stop Russia's war in Ukraine. Pope Francis is in stable condition after suffering a respiratory crisis. And they say the 88-year-old pontiff is seeing some improvement. The latest updates out of the Vatican continue to be encouraging. The pope is stable. But what's even better news is that there are no ill effects from Friday's respiratory crisis.
But the Vatican says, however, the Pope's condition is presenting a very complex condition. And so there is no telling when he will be out of danger. Doctors at Gemelli Hospital continue to treat the 88-year-old Pope for double pneumonia. Today, he continued on oxygen therapy, but did not need the more intense mechanical ventilation. Vatican sources say the Pope is in good spirits, eating solid food and able to walk with some assistance. He had no fever and blood levels are stable.

Israel's cut off Gaza aid in order to pressure Hamas to accept a new ceasefire proposal. It is a tricky and a dangerous time here right now. Phase one of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas has finished, but phase two has yet to be agreed to. Instead, Israel is offering an extension of phase one, which would see the immediate release of half of the remaining hostages held by Hamas. But with
with Israel, Jerusalem, not offering a lot in return, like an Israeli military pullback. Hamas is rejecting the offer, calling it blackmail. As Israel responded with that complete cutoff of humanitarian aid to Gaza. That aid had been flowing to the desperate people there during phase one of the accord. Fox's Greg Palcutt in Tel Aviv. The clock is ticking toward a partial government shutdown as Congress ties to solidify a budget bill.
Fox's Madeline Rivera. The federal government runs out of money on March 14th, and as that deadline quickly approaches, lawmakers on Capitol Hill say they're leaning toward a short-term spending bill to keep the government open. Democrats, though, have one key demand. They want assurances that President Trump won't move to unilaterally cut cash flows appropriated by Congress, which they say is against the law.
Republicans have balked at that ask, but House Speaker Mike Johnson suggests he is open to not incorporating the cuts Doge has made into this funding bill, adding that is an issue Republicans can address later on. Some Republicans will likely be frustrated at the thought of passing a Clean Continuing Resolution, or CR, saying they don't want to fund programs Doge has already slashed. Some Democrats say Doge's cuts benefit wealthy individuals and corporations instead of working Americans.
