The legal fight has just begun. I'm Lisa Lucera, Fox News. President Trump vowing action after a federal judge in Washington state paused his executive order blocking birthright citizenship. President Trump says the administration will obviously appeal a district court ruling that called his executive order ending birthright citizenship blatantly unconstitutional. They put it before a certain judge in Seattle, I guess, right? And, uh...
There's no surprises with that, Judge. Judge John Kuhnauer, appointed by President Ronald Reagan, issued that decision. The lawsuit was filed by Washington State's Attorney General. Several other states and organizations have also sued to stop the order. Fox's Jared Halpern at the White House. A vote in the Senate expected tomorrow on the nomination of Pete Hegseth as Defense Secretary to Republicans Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine broke ranks voting against moving ahead with the nomination.
President Trump's pick to lead the CIA has been sworn in after his Senate confirmation today. John Ratcliffe is now the second cabinet nominee confirmed after about half of Senate Democrats supported his nomination. Ratcliffe will lead the CIA after serving as the director of national intelligence in the first Trump administration. Democrats and Republicans
praised Ratcliffe's experience. He also served as a member of Congress from Texas. Fox's Ryan Schmelz. California Governor Gavin Newsom says he welcomes President Trump with open arms as the president is set to tour areas of the state ravaged by wildfires tomorrow. I hope he comes with the spirit of
cooperation and collaboration. That's the spirit to which we welcome it. I've said this many times, open hand, not a closed fist. President Trump has suggested that any federal wildfire relief come with conditions, but Republican lawmakers from California have pushed back on that. The state will spend $2.5 billion to help the area recover from the fires. America is listening to Fox News.

A new study shows a drug commonly used as an emergency contraceptive could be repurposed for abortions.
