She may soon be in charge of Homeland Security. I'm Dave Anthony, Fox News. Being safe within our borders here in America is critical. And yet Americans feel less safe than they have felt in decades. South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem at the start of her Senate confirmation hearing. More than 40% of Americans are afraid to walk alone at night within a mile of their homes.

President-elect Trump is going to change that. And Governor Noem also told senators... As secretary, I will prioritize a comprehensive, whole-of-government approach to cybersecurity. Democratic Senator Gary Peters told Noem... Just a few weeks ago, unfortunately, Americans were shocked to see two horrific incidents in New Orleans and Las Vegas...

A deadly reminder that terrorism and radicalization remain very real and ongoing threats to our homeland. TikTok has been branded a national security threat, and a ban looms in the U.S. for the social media app for not, by law, cutting ties with its Chinese parent company.

The company is waiting to hear if the U.S. Supreme Court will block the law. But now President Biden is saying he will not enforce the ban come Sunday, leaving it in the hands of the returning President Trump. The president-elect has already expressed a dislike of the ban, hoping to find a way to preserve the app's operation. President Trump credits the app for his reaching of younger voters during the campaign.

That's Fox's Eben Brown. Israel takes another step toward a ceasefire in Gaza. The security cabinet approves a deal with Hamas that would free hostages taken in the 2023 terror attack that triggered the Gaza war in an exchange for Palestinian prisoners. Approval is still needed by the full cabinet. Phase one of this deal includes getting back a third of the remaining hostages, 33 civilians, including those who've been killed. Some of the remaining hostages include

Again, our top Fox News story. The Supreme Court has just rejected TikTok's challenge, the U.S. law that would ban the social media app in the U.S. by Sunday for not cutting ties with its Chinese-based parent company. But President Biden's not going to enforce that. President-elect Trump has indicated he wants to extend the deadline for a TikTok sale.

On Wall Street, we're seeing some big gains. The Dow up 344 points. The Nasdaq's up 261. The S&P 500 is gaining 53 points. And on his way out of office, President Biden getting rated in a new Fox News poll. Voters continue to blame President Biden for the current condition of the economy. More than half of respondents, 52%, say the president has made the economy worse in his four years.

As president elect Donald Trump prepares to begin his second term, 89% say they are still concerned about inflation. Even though government assessments called America's economic recovery strong, most voters did not say their financial situation got better. In

GM has been driven into a settlement with the U.S. government for selling drivers' locations and behavior data without their consent. GM collected the information through OnStar and the OnStar smart driver feature, then sold it to third parties, including consumer reporting agencies, without consent.
