A deadly reminder that terrorism and radicalization remain very real and ongoing threats to our homeland. TikTok has been branded a national security threat, and a ban looms in the U.S. for the social media app for not, by law, cutting ties with its Chinese parent company.
The company is waiting to hear if the U.S. Supreme Court will block the law. But now President Biden is saying he will not enforce the ban come Sunday, leaving it in the hands of the returning President Trump. The president-elect has already expressed a dislike of the ban, hoping to find a way to preserve the app's operation. President Trump credits the app for his reaching of younger voters during the campaign.

The security cabinet approves a deal with Hamas that would free hostages taken in the 2023 terror attack that triggered the Gaza war in an exchange for Palestinian prisoners. Approval is still needed by the full cabinet. Phase one of this deal includes getting back a third of the remaining hostages, 33 civilians, including those who've been killed. GM has been driven into a settlement with the U.S. government for selling drivers' locations and behavior data without their consent. GM collected the information through OnStar and the OnStar smart driver feature, then sold it to third parties, including consumer reporting agencies, without consent.
