They want access. I'm Lisa Lucera, Fox News. The Trump administration is appealing to the Supreme Court to allow the Department of Government Efficiency access to Social Security systems. Social Security systems hold sensitive personal records on nearly everyone in the country, including banking information, salaries and medical records for those on disability.

A federal judge in Maryland blocked Doge full access, but did allow staffers to view data that has been redacted of identifiable information. In a filing to the Supreme Court, the administration argues the injunction halts the executive branch's

critically important efforts to improve information technology systems and eliminate waste and fraud. Fox's Jared Halpern at the White House. The administration planning significant cuts at the CIA and other intelligence agencies. The Washington Post reports the agency plans to cut 1,200 jobs and thousands of other job cuts are expected from other parts of the intelligence community.

The president also calling on Congress to cut spending as he outlines his first budget plan on the second term. Lawmakers are charged with cutting one point five trillion dollars in spending. The Energy and Commerce Committee is charged with cutting eight hundred eighty billion dollars in spending. Brett Guthrie of Kentucky chairs that committee. Guthrie was in the White House meeting yesterday, but some Republicans urge caution with the cuts.

Fox's Chad Pergram. The administration's agreed to end its funding freeze against the state of Maine over a dispute over transgender athletes. In response, the state has agreed to drop a lawsuit against the Department of Agriculture. The money that was suspended funds a statewide child nutrition program. A federal judge ordered the money be released after finding that Maine would likely succeed in its legal challenge.

Wall Street extended its gains for a ninth straight day. The Dow added 564, matching its winning streak since December of 2023. America's listening to Fox News.

This week, a judge ordered the administration to restore $12 million in funding after lawyers said it would shut down next month without it.

A Christopher Columbus statue finds a new home in Chicago. The Chicago Park District announces a settlement with the Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans over the city's decision to remove the Columbus statue from Arrigo Park during the summer of 2020 during a wave of protests. Under the terms of the agreement, the city of Chicago, which owns the statue, will loan it to the JCCIA for display in a building the organization owns.

The Park District says it's beginning a public process to decide on a new statue for Arrigo Park that honors the contributions of Italian Americans to Chicago's history. Fox is Chris Foster.
