The wildfire disaster could get even worse around Los Angeles. I'm Dave Anthony, Fox News. We're in really now the calm before the next windstorm. Santa Ana winds will pick back up today into Wednesday and could spread through wildfires still raging, including the one that left Pacific Palisades at Shard Ruins. Fox's Jonathan Hunt is there. That was the situation last Tuesday morning when the flames ripped.
through here in the Palisades, wreaking this kind of damage across such a huge swath of what was an idyllic part of Los Angeles. At least 24 people have been killed. More than 12,000 buildings and houses have burned down, including Robert Lara's and Altadena. His mother and uncle's homes are also just ashes now. And he tells Fox his... Lost mentally. This is so much to attempt to process.

It's an up and down morning to start the week on Wall Street. The Dow is gaining 141 points, but the Nasdaq is down big, dropping 231. It's a 31-point loss so far for the S&P 500. The price of oil is up more than a dollar, close to 78 bucks a barrel, which could make gas more expensive. But lately, that price has barely changed. In the last three weeks, analyst Tribble Lundberg says in her survey of stations... The average price of gasoline at the pump went up one single penny.
The new price is $3.14, and that's just four cents lower than it was a year ago. AAA's national average for regular gas, less than hers, $3.06 per gallon. There's a new number one movie in theaters. Mid-January is often a slow movie-going time of year, and much of Hollywood's attention now is on the wildfires burning in the L.A. region.
