Major League Baseball, the Detroit Tigers lead the majors with 47 wins after a 7-3 win over the Pirates. Javi Baez smashing two home runs on the 10th anniversary of his call-up to the majors. The Bronx Bombers, they keep bombing. The Angels shut out the Yankees 4-zip. Get this, New York has not scored in 29 innings.
They've lost five straight games. Never in the storied history of the Yankees have they been shut out in four straight. Meanwhile, New York's other team, they blew a 4-1 eighth inning lead to the Braves in Atlanta. Atlanta winning it in ten innings, five to four. The Mets have lost four straight. There could be some bad blood between the Dodgers and Padres. Fernando Tatis got plunked last night, so the Padres turned around and hit Shohei Otani, which prompted the umpires to warn both benches no more of that.
That led to a furious reaction from the Dodgers manager, Dave Roberts. He got thrown out. Dodgers did hang on and win the game 8-6.
