It's a battle for first place. A weekend showdown in Philadelphia between NL East rivals the New York Mets and the Phillies. Game time at 7:15 p.m. Eastern time tonight at Citizens Bank Ballpark. The Mets and their offense have been struggling quite a bit lately, but outfielder Brandon Nimmo thinks they are close to breaking out with the lumber. I don't think that our offense is like totally out of it. I think it's there. I think it's right around the corner.
Just going to start with small things and build from there. Meanwhile, rookie slugger Jack Caglione leads the Kansas City Royals into San Diego to take on Manny Machado and the Padres at 7.15 p.m. Eastern. You can catch both of those games on Fox. Check your local listings for the game in your area. If you went on a road trip and you didn't stop for a Big Mac or drop a crispy fry between the car seats or use your McDonald's bag as a placemat, then that wasn't a road trip.
It was just a really long drive. Ba-da-ba-ba-ba. Participating McDonald's. This afternoon on FS1, it's the Texas Rangers on the road in Pittsburgh against the Pirates. A pretty good pitching matchup.
Texas sending rookie Kumar Rocker to the mound against Mitch Keller for Pittsburgh. And there are a dozen other games on the MLB Saturday schedule. NBA Finals, it'll be Game 7 on Sunday. The Pacers and the Oklahoma City Thunder, they meet in OKC for the title. It's the first Game 7 of the NBA Finals since LeBron James and Kyrie Irving led Cleveland over Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors back in 2016.
In golf, it's third-round action today at the PGA's Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut. Auto racing, the Pocono Raceway, the site of NASCAR's The Great American Getaway 400 on Sunday. IndyCar action, the X-Bell Grand Prix at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. You can catch the race on Sunday at 1.30 p.m. Eastern on Fox.
