I'm Fox weather meteorologist Steven Morgan with the latest from America's Weather Center. Well, as advertised, the rain has returned to part of Texas, but too much of it has led to some big problems, especially along the Rio Grande Valley near the border in Brownsville and McAllen. The heaviest rain falling from San Antonio and Houston points south and rain totals already easily reaching more than a foot in some spots.
and perhaps a little bit more before the system exits on Saturday. But it's on Saturday that we're going to watch the severe weather threat ramp up, especially in the plains. But the greater potential for storms returns to more than a dozen states on Sunday. Some of those states include Missouri, Illinois, Mississippi, even Alabama. Storms could produce large hail, damaging winds and tornadoes. That risk then expands to the East Coast just in time for the start of the new work week.
