YouTube announced last week their "New Approach To YouTube Monetization" where they are changing the requirements for new channels to get access to the monetization tools within YouTube.

Before last week, you needed 10,000 views total in order to be eligible for YouTube monetization.

Now, they have added 2 additional requirements: 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 hours viewed in the last 12 months.
