The Olympics yesterday, GMAC, the United States gymnastics team gets the all-around gold. Ninth straight medal in that event. Simone Biles becomes the most decorated gymnast in United States history with her eighth medal. Fifth gold is tied for the most as well. She's the ninth woman ever in Olympic history to have eight medals in gymnastics in her career. Pretty impressive run yesterday for the United States women. Very impressive and watching it last night.

Very different approach from a few years back. I remember a couple years back, they felt tight. They felt anxious. Watching them last night, very relaxed, even in spite of mistakes. I mean, people stepping out of bounds on the floor, falling off the beam. Suni Lee off the middle of the uneven bars. They just kind of weathered the storm, so...

I was talking to Meredith about this. It's kind of weird. I feel like the Olympic gymnastics team turns over pretty drastically. It's the first time that I can remember where it feels like the same team from a few years ago, right? Where all of them are for the most part back, and I think they showed their experience last night. So congrats to them. Some redemption on the tour. And some other teams just flat out falling on their face as well. No pun intended. I mean...

There were some really bad performances in other spots, so they won comfortably going away. You mentioned it. Simone Biles, I know, on the floor routine kind of stepping out of bounds at one point and literally, I think, shrugged her shoulder mid-routine. Sure, I kind of rolled her eyes like, it's all good. We're going to be okay. Yeah. And it was a dominant performance by the United States women picking up that all-around gold in gymnastics. That wasn't the only good news yesterday. Yeah.

The United States women pick up the bronze in Rugby 7. Did we have the audio of that final play, by the way? It was completely bonkers.

Are you a rugby sevens guy now? I don't know if I'm going to really get into it and watch the tape on it. It was one of the very few close contests of that event at the Olympics. 14-12, United States gets the win over Australia. They'll take home the bronze. It's the first ever medal in rugby for the United States. I think it was introduced in 2016.

Yeah, 2016. So, yeah, pretty impressive there. And the United States men's soccer team is going to advance to the knockout round. Second time in 60 years that that's happened. Cocoa Golf goes down yesterday to Donovick Vickich. And she'll still have a chance to medal, but gold is going to be out for her. So your medal count as of today, United States 26, France 18, China 14.

Gold medal count, Japan 6, France 5, South Korea 5. That is your Olympic update for today. What was your favorite? Men's basketball will go today. Did you watch some of the swimming last night? No, we were... Swimming's pretty electric. Oh, it's incredible. What I find funny about it is everybody, and I think I would probably do the exact same thing,

Everybody's like screaming at the top of their lungs like, oh, they're going to will the the Frenchman to victory. The hometown kid. He can't hear you. Oh, but he admitted he did. And when he was doing the breaststroke a couple of nights ago and every time he came up out of the water, they would yell his name. And there was a giant chant. He said, yeah, I heard it. And it's it's definitely something that kind of got me going. Now, I don't know if like on the freestyle you would hear that.

That would be a little bit different when you're actually coming out of the water every few strokes. But, yeah, he admitted to that then. But it is – I mean, there are a lot of people that are just yelling. Screaming at the top of their lungs, just exerting a ton of energy. And I don't feel like – I just feel like maybe that's – I'm not saying you need to sit on your hands, but I'm just curious if that has an impact. So anybody that swam at a high level, high school or college, please call in. I would love to hear. I really, really would like to know. Yeah.

But I have a hard time envisioning that. The other thing that I found interesting last night, I don't recall Brazil a couple years ago becoming a superpower as it relates to women's gymnastics. I don't remember that. Maybe that's a thing. I don't know. Or at least it was trending in that direction. They obviously dropped the ball a couple times last night. But is it just me or are gymnastics athletes getting older? I feel like they were all like 16.

My wife and I were talking about yesterday, last night. Brazil had like 27-year-olds, just like Simone Biles had 27. No, there was a 31 yesterday. A 31 in Brazil? I looked over at my wife. Maybe that was it, yeah. I was at the table kind of doing some stuff for the show to get prepared for today, and I looked over and I said, did I just say 31? Because the previous girl was 17. And you talk about running the gamut as far as age and being able to compete like that. My understanding is that by 31 in gymnastics years, I mean, that's like 81. Yeah.

Just because your body is so beat up, your joints are so beat up, they start so young. You're not able to really do it at a high level at that age anymore. So, yeah, I couldn't believe that there were a couple as old as they were. And then obviously some of the younger ones dominant again. But it was pretty cool to watch the gymnastics last night. Simone Biles, just incredible. Suni Lee, incredible. And they pick up gold in the all-around. And you'll have more gymnastics to be able to come up with.

here for the next couple of days. All right, Rugby Sevens. This is how the end... Is it a match? Is it a game? Is it a scrum? Contest? So at the end, they... This is how the end of the skirmish sounded yesterday for the United States women picking up the bronze medal. If they're going to take this one to Golden Point, Alona Ma, Ramsey, Cedric, Spiff, Cedric's away! Cedric! Up over the...

50, the 40, she's going to take it. Cedric for the USA. Oh, beside myself right now. It is level at 12 apiece. The conversion will win the bronze medal for Team USA. Yes, Sammy, we got you. Calm down. This is going to be the easier kick right down the middle. There it is. There it is.

Cedric with the conversion and Team USA make history in Paris. I'm just glad that the young lady let us know that she was beside herself. Otherwise, we would have had no idea.

But just an incredible feat for the United States women. I mean, it went all the way down across the field, and literally its time expired. Yeah. And then you get the conversion to be able to go pick up bronze. Excellent call there. Well, they tried to kick it, and they basically returned to kick off at the buzzer to win it. They got kick-sixed. Yes. Wow. Yeah, it was basically that. It was a kick-six. Was it a rivalry game? I don't know. I feel like America and Australia have beef.

Do we? We did in the pool last night. So, yeah, that sure transfers over. The McCown girl beat our girl on the 100-meter backstroke. Is that the girl that hates the cowbells? I don't know. The Australian? She's really mad because they use cowbells when they get ready, when they warm up or whatever. I don't know. So there's nothing that she hates here more than the Star Spangled Banner.

She said that? No, she seemed pretty nice. It was a competitive. I mean, she wasn't really taking a shot. She was just saying that it kind of gets her going, so to speak. Yeah. I don't know. I can't speak for that. But I do know that the Australian girl seemed nice. She hugged the American competitor after the race. Was she the one that was lined up in the wrong lane a couple nights ago? Hopefully. Disqualifier. That's something my son would ask, too. We're watching Olympics and stuff. He's like, do you think they're nice?

Like, no. They play for China. They're the enemy. Yes. Well, my son also calls them Chiny. Like, for whatever reason, he can't say China. I don't know. It's like Chiny. It's like, no, dude, it's China. Chiny. Yeah, I get it. Chiny. It's China. Chiny. Dad, I got it. He's saying plural. Yes. Multiple. Multiple Chinas. That's where he's going with that. That's exactly what it is. But I've actually really enjoyed the kids' interest level in China.

The Olympics. Our kids have gotten into it. Have yours kind of gotten on board? I hate that it starts at 7 because it's like the last hour before bedtime. But we've had it on on the weekend really throughout the day. I mean, pretty much all day we had it on in the background, whether it was basketball or the other sports. They've been really into it so far.

Yeah, men's basketball today, a seven-year-old will get into it. He's really excited about that. My daughter loves the gymnastics. She's a big Sunni Leaf fan. They like the diving that they've seen a little bit, some of the swimming, but not, I don't think, just any of it, no. And obviously the two boys constantly ask why we're watching gymnastics last night. I mean, it just is what it is. Did you say we're watching it for Kitt?

Did you blame Kit? It's impressive stuff. I mean, it's incredible. I want to see it also. So, I mean, if there are a couple of events that I'm going to watch, that's going to be it. Especially if, you know, like the Simone Biles kind of comeback portion of that, Suni Lee, watching her. It's cool to watch. It's unbelievable what some of them are doing. And then my wife's really into it. Daughter's really into it. But they just hear constantly, why are we watching this? I don't know what they want to watch, but...

Bluey? They're not into that. No, we're past that. Y'all are done with Bluey. Pretty much, yeah. We've moved on to a couple specialty YouTube shows. A lot of highlight clips. So...

Oh, so they're watching tape. Okay. Yeah, sort of. I don't know if they're dialed in studying it, but they're watching it, paying attention. Yeah. A little John Morant introduction yesterday, trying to avoid the off-the-field stuff. Not to say. That was our back-to-school sneakers we chose, so we had a dual introduction on him. So we'll see where that goes. No need to talk about the extracurricular stuff. But when we come back, we will talk about UAB taking the practice field yesterday. You will hear from Trent Dilfer, the

The UAB head football coach, what he thought about his team day one. Three-man front, by the way, going to be at UAB camp today. They'll be out there at practice. You'll be able to hear from some of the coaches, some of the players. So right after us, you'll be able to check that out. And one thing that you're definitely going to be able to check out today is Alabama's heat and humidity. It's going to be brutal. It was yesterday. Don't let it affect your home and family. Tomorrow. Tomorrow. I was under the impression it was tomorrow, yeah. Maybe first day of practice tomorrow and they report to camp today? So we'll obviously keep you updated to let you hear from the coaches, everything that's happening throughout the course of fall camp for a lot of those teams. Trent Dilfer will let you hear that here in just a moment. Yeah, first practice tomorrow. Yeah, I believe so. I think they work out today, but I think that's testing. Either way, yeah, this week.

All right, Trent Dilfer, just on day one, how do you feel like it went? I thought it was a good start. I'm trying to be more flatline this year.

A lot of good things, a lot of carryover from the offseason, but we're still big-time work in progress. So we've got to immediately start correcting the things that aren't to the standard.

And one thing that we know about this team, quarterback is going to be returning, Jacob Zeno, one of the more efficient passers in all of college football last year. Dilford, just how important it is to have him back with his leadership and obviously his ability. Yeah, it's huge. You know, I think developing core leaders in year one is a huge deal. I think we did that on both sides of the ball. Jacob's a huge part of that. Isaiah's a huge part of that.

Andy Reid had a great comment the other day. You can be a good team if your coaches are really good teachers. You can be a great team if your players are teachers. And we're starting to develop some of that. I saw it today. I saw it with backup quarterbacks. I saw it with a couple receivers. I saw a bunch on defense. When your players start coaching your players, you've got a chance to be pretty good. And fortunately, we have that.

Or we're developing that, I should say. Do you feel like, I can remember the first time Trent came in here with us, Greg, and he went through what they wanted to do offensively. He walked out, you and I looked at each other in the break and said, okay, so they're going to run everything.

Like literally all of it. Right. Like every single thing. Literally. Like there's never been a play in football that they won't have in their plan. Because of that, could there be an even bigger jump year one to year two because some of the offense was so extensive? I don't think it's the offense that was a problem. I think Trent's been pretty outspoken about that. If anything else, it's the defense. The defense was nightmarish in some ways.

So I think that's what they're probably focusing on is to become a more well-rounded team. But I think back to, I think of so many teams that have made coaching adjustments, coaching changes or whatever. It's year one. The office is great. Defense stinks. And in year two, they really try to put a lot of emphasis on becoming more balanced and

Um, that's why you usually see a pretty decent sized jump in year two, but usually the offense probably not quite as good. The defense is slightly better. So sometimes there's a slight regression. And then in year three, um,

That's when it all comes together. So that's kind of the plan, I would imagine. But I think Trent knows they can score. It's more about can they stop anybody? Because if they can't, they're going to be in the same spot they were in last year. Coach Dilfer, on the difference day one this year versus day one last year.

Completely. You know, I think it's a much longer group. I think that's the first thing. If you looked at us as a team, length was a big priority. Strength was another huge priority. I felt we were weak last year in the weight room. Lyle agreed we're significantly stronger this year. Part of that's recruiting. Part of that's development in the offseason.

You know, we were probably on the field less than most teams because I didn't get so many hours, and I didn't want to sacrifice any strength in conditioning. So big emphasis on strength development throughout the offseason.

And then I think they're more fluid athletes. You know, one of the things we looked for was a more fluid athlete and to take our young guys who were developing and really put a point of emphasis. You know, we had some young, we emphasized length from the day I got here. So we had some long skinny guys, some long stiffer guys. The long skinny guys had to become long big guys and the long stiff guys had to become long fluid guys.

It's very hard to argue with the effects of length. You know, Saban was on to it years ago. Those that detoured from it have not had a lot of success. So that was a big point of emphasis for us. So one interesting part about that, Greg, I've heard more coaches emphasize, focus, talk about being stronger, better in the weight room this particular offseason than I think I can ever remember.

It was a point of emphasis for Billy Napier at SEC Media Days, winning length, talking about the lean muscle that had been added, been on. I've heard other coaches already talking about just how great things were. I don't know. Is there a way that they could be putting more emphasis on it? I don't know how you could do that. Than trying to be stronger? I don't know how more teams could say, we're going to emphasize the weight room more. I think there's been a lot of adjustment in how you train.

I mean, Alabama's experienced this too by going out and hiring basically scientists to run their strength and conditioning program. Like back in our day, it's like put weight on the bar and push it. That's how you get strong. You do sets of one, two, three, five. And when you're really feeling crazy, you'll do six reps. I mean, that's the way it was. I do think that it adjusted so much to where it was position specific that

And it was about creating twitch and creating explosiveness, which is good. But you're not always lifting a ton of heavy weight because you wanted to emphasize those quick twitch muscles. And I think there's a lot of value to that. But at the same time, I think maybe we got too far away from the old school methods. And maybe they're coming back to the old school methods a little bit or at least sprinkling those in. Because I think there's a place right now, especially with 220 pound linebackers, to absolutely bludgeon people.

And I think too many people have tried to make a living through the year and rely on perimeter play. And maybe that's going to come back around like we kind of anticipated last year. Can UAB maybe do some bludgeoning? Coach Dilfer on his offensive line day one. Yeah, I think they need to eat more nails for breakfast.

They were, you know, I think I'm the son of an offensive line coach. Grew up on the back of a walking sled, as you guys have all heard. The expectations of me on that position maybe exceed the quarterback. It was okay. We got to get a lot better. Hard not to love the guy. Just going to be honest with you. He's an O-line guy. How can you not love him?

There's a lot to like about Trent. The fact that he grew up on the back of a sled is not one of the reasons why I like him. I really like him a lot, but... That's a red flag? Sled obsessions. I said love, not like. You're going to love what Wayne's going to do for you around your home. I think that leads to daddy issues if you grow up on the back of the sled. The only thing protecting me right now is this...

A little soft canvas, pretend defensive lineman that these guys are trying to push. Trying to rip my face off. The little platform was elevated. You have like the big wheel. It's not like what it is now. A little bit different back then. Wayne's going to keep the bugs away from your outdoor spaces, specifically the mosquitoes.

So Mosquito Plus program, listen, they're going to make sure the biting pests are going to stay away from your porch, your patio, your yard, all your outdoor spaces. It's great for us when we're out in the yard. We were in the backyard yesterday playing some baseball with the kids. No mosquito bites. Don't even have to worry about it. That includes fleas and ticks as well. They're going to stay away.

Wayne's offers four great services for your home, Greg, and there's people everywhere. They're going to want to know exactly how they can let Wayne's do what they've done for us. Yeah, especially if you're in Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, Panhandle, Tennessee. Wayne's is your go-to provider for the home services that you need to elevate your experience outside. It's mosquitoes, keeping the home safe with the perimeter around the home. It's pet-friendly, child-friendly. That gives me great peace of mind as a father of three.

and a dog owner as well. I know that they come out and they spray the lawn, they spray everything. My kids can still play out there within 10 minutes. So that's encouraging as well. So call them today, 866-WAYNES-1. You're going to get the fire ant treatment free if you sign up right now.

That's the fire ant treatment free, which is nice. Don't want to step on the fire ants when you're out there playing in the yard. So give them a call today, 866-WAINS-1. Visit callwains.com and let Wains continue to create your happy place. All right, Barry Trammell covers Oklahoma. Sooners get going today. We'll discuss it with him right after this. So McElroy and Kubelik in the morning. The capital of the sports talk nation. This is Jocks 94.5 and jocksfm.com. Hurry hand. Hurry hand.

All right, welcome back in. Matt Gilroy and Kublik in the morning, Wednesday, July 31st, 7.30 a.m. Right here on JOX 94.5. Chicago wide receiver DJ Moore gets a four-year extension, $110 million. And also, quarter their head coach, G-Mac, no starters Thursday night. Not going to happen. Shocked. Was Caleb Williams going to play? First-year starting quarterback. No, he's not going to go Thursday. Well, how do we know he's a starter? I was told...

He's not going to go. I would assume that means he's probably that guy. How mad is whoever's broadcasting that? Peacock. Whatever channel it's on. I think they're happy with what else is going on right now. Not the channel that it's on right now, by the way. No. Prime? A little closer to home. WWE. A little closer to home. Netflix. For you and I. Amazon.

That's a 7 o'clock ESPN kick and on ABC for the folks trying to keep up with the Hall of Fame game. Why is that closer to home there in Bristol? The game actually in Canton. Canton closer than Bristol. Can confirm. Closer to the home team for us. We'll be on ESPN. The Bill Smith Buick GMC jocks kickoff party is Wednesday, August 14, two weeks from today at Regents Field. The only way to go is by winning a pair of tickets. To win...

for your chance to win, excuse me, text the keyword jocks and your full name to two zero five eight three four nine four five zero. That's the keyword jocks and your full name to two zero five eight three four nine four five zero. Winners are drawn daily. For more information, log on to jocksfm.com. All right, Barry Trammell covers Oklahoma and the Sooners are going to get underway today. Wanted to kind of preview fall camp, Barry. We appreciate you taking some time with us. Uh, the offensive line has been one of the biggest questions about this team for months now. Uh,

What do we know more about with that group? More concerns, less concerns maybe as we begin fall camp? Well, we really don't know much. I mean, it's a totally remade line. A lot of portal guys, a couple of holdovers, but not necessarily the best guys on the line. Last year in Fort School that historically has a really good offensive line year after year, one of Joe Moore Ward was in contention for a couple others. This is foreign territory. They don't really know how to function offensively.

with an offensive line sort of in disarray. So they've got a hit on the portal with some of these guys, and so we won't know. We won't even know when the games start because they really won't be tested, I don't think, by a defensive front until Tennessee. That's pretty early in the year, though, obviously, against Tennessee, and I know that's a game that means a lot to the Oklahoma faithful, given who's the head coach there.

of the Tennessee Volunteers. But as you assess just where they've had issues this offseason, with the offensive line, that being a huge question mark, do you think they've adequately addressed those problems? Well, they did a pretty good job, and I thought they got a post-spring addition in Branson Hickman from SMU, who's a three-year starter down in Dallas and is coming up to Norman, and that was a big help.

That seemed, in my mind, to really sort of stabilize at least the depth. You've got a veteran center. Centers are sort of the foundation of an offensive line. If you're weak there, you're not strong anywhere. So I think that really helped. Now, playing in the American Conference is not the same as playing in the SEC. So we'll see how he does. But that really was a nice addition there.

that was late in the process. Most of these guys come in in December or January. So Branson Hickman, I think, is sort of a key element to this offense.

I just appreciated what you said about centers being the foundation of the offensive line. I would go more of the team, Barry, but that's okay. We'll move on there. The quarterback situation we know is going to be Jackson Arnold. We know the talent is there. The ability is there. A little bit of change in offensive philosophy with Seth Luttrell now taking over for Jeff Lebby. But do you expect it to look much different? Is there a portion of the offense that you're anxious to see because it might be different or maybe even more capable of something than they were a season ago?

Well, I have no idea if it'll be better or worse, but it probably will look different. You know, Jeff Levy's from the Baylor family, literally and figuratively. He's Art Brow's son-in-law.

And Seth Luttrell is from the Air Raid. Now, to novices, it's not a big deal. But if you put them side by side, you can see the big differences that, you know, the Air Raid sort of spreads the ball around and does a lot of things with receiver routes, you know, flooding zones, those kinds of things. The Baylor is the super spread. You know, guys lined up three blocks from the stadium out wide and create

creating running lanes and trying to beef up the running game. So it conceivably could look different. Whether it will be more or less effective, we'll have to see. I mean, the Baylor offense has a pretty good history, and the Air Raids got a glorious history. So both work. It's just whichever one is suited for this Oklahoma offense. And, you know, some of that's the offensive line, some of that's Jackson Arnold, and some of that's just how you adjust to the SEC. Yeah.

How do you think the defense will be able to hold up? I think they'll be able to score. I think most of us are encouraged by that possibility. Defensively, you love their personnel. I do have a couple questions about them being big enough, stout enough in the trenches, a little different league than the one that they just departed. I think they'll be fine. I just don't know.

uh, if they're going to be a top flight group. So how do you anticipate this transition going for the defense and a group that, that should have aspirations of being one of the best in the league? Yeah. You know, I agree with you that they're probably not as big as they want to be, you know, two or three years ago. I can't remember. Maybe probably two years ago. I, uh, I was chatting with, uh, Texas athletic director, Chris Del Conte. And, um,

It was not long after they hired Steve Sarkeesian, and I was talking to him about Big 12 preparation. What are you doing to get ready for the Big 12? And I didn't mean necessarily roster adjustments. I was just talking about the entire program, everything. And he said the number one thing we need to do is get bigger. And Sark over the last couple of years has alluded to that pretty often. And the truth is, even though Oklahoma's been better than Texas most of the last 15 years,

Texas always seems bigger, so it seems natural to think OU has farther to go on that point. I would agree with you. But this is a strange year in Oklahoma football in that it's possible that the OU defense has finally caught up to the OU offense, which has not been the case probably since 2009.

Now, part of that's because the offense doesn't seem to be as good as the OU standard because of the offensive line, new quarterback, the things we've talked about. But I do think the defense is pretty good, and they do have a little bit of star power. Last year, OU had its first All-American in four years. They hadn't had an All-American under Lincoln Riley and Bob Stoops. They had...

star power every year, often multiple All-Americans. C.D. Lamb in 29 was their last All-American until Billy Bowman made one of the teams last year. First team tied for, I think, the NCAA lead in interceptions. Danny Stutzman's a top-flight linebacker. So they've got star power and they've got depth.

The question is, do they have enough in the interior line? I think they're pretty good on the edge. Do they have enough in the middle? Whether they're going to play the 3-4 or the even front, that may be predicated on how much depth they think they have. But I think they're going to be pretty good on defense. That really was not the plan.

That was not the worry two years ago, three years ago. Will the offense be able to hold up? But I think OU is as confident in its defense as it is its offense, which is strange times around here. Barry Trammell joining us to discuss the Oklahoma Sooners beginning fall camp today. Is there a way to have a feel for

On the other part of a football team, you've been covering them for a long time. The chemistry, the continuity, the togetherness, just the attitude, demeanor. Do you have a feel or a vibe for what this team might be compared to some other Oklahoma teams? No, and I'd be leery of anybody that said they did here or anywhere else because I don't know that you can build programs much anymore. Maybe Kirby Smart has, and maybe...

Ryan Day, although maybe not. But you can't really build programs. You're just building teams year after year, and the roster turnover is so massive. The Sooners just have so many new players with freshmen and the transfer portal. I think I can't remember the number of new players. Is it 37 maybe, guys who have never played for Oklahoma before?

And that's not terribly out of the ordinary when you sign 20-something and bring in 15 or whatever it is, portal guys. I mean, I think the offseason is more important than ever, not just from a physical standpoint, but from a chemistry thing like you're talking about. We've heard that the strength and conditioning coaches or the offseason head coach, that's probably more true and more important than ever before. So...

We're just going to have to see how it goes. I tend to think that can be a little overrated. Togetherness and chemistry is not going to make the OU defensive line bigger. It's not going to make some of the other deficiencies better. But it does matter. I think it's important if adversity hits, then the Sooners have some chances for adversity. I mean, their first three conference games are –

Home with Tennessee at Auburn and Texas and Dallas. I personally think Auburn's probably underrated in the SEC, and Auburn is like the second easiest game Oklahoma's got. I mean, a 0-3 start is not off the table. So if adversity hits, if they lose to Tennessee, will they stick together? I think that's a key question.

for what transpires in this maiden SEC season. What does success look like this year for you? I know what the fans are anticipating success looking like. Anything less than 10 wins is no longer good. But with the schedule being what it is and a transition season and there being a lot of unknowns, what does a good year look like for Oklahoma? Well, if OU goes 9-3, I think I wouldn't recommend throwing a parade, but I would throw a party.

I mean, they got six. Who knows how the season will come out, but they play six teams that are in the SEC teams that are ranked in most people's top 15. You know, Texas got the long straw in the schedule. Oh, you've got the short straw. It's a very difficult schedule. And if, you know, 9-3 probably won't get them in the playoff. Maybe it could. You never know. But if they go 5-3 in the SEC...

With this schedule, I think that's a very positive sign. If they go 8-4, you say, well, you know, it's okay. Less than 8-4, I think, is trouble. So I guess 8-4 is the 38th parallel, the line of demarcation, and see what happens. But the non-conference schedule is weak, very, very easy. 4-0 should be maybe not automatic but close to it. So, yeah.

And if they can scramble together four and maybe even five wins, to me that's a great sign for OU's future in the SEC. Barry, we really appreciate it. Great stuff. It's getting started today. We're excited about it. I know you are as well, and we look forward to having you back again soon. You bet. Thank you. Barry Trammell, sports columnist for the Tulsa World. Torn MCL. That's the third defensive lineman with a potential season-ending knee or lower extremity injury in the last three days out of NFL camp. So not good to see that. And it sounds like GMAC Aaron Rodgers is not going to see the field until week one. Big surprise there. According to Robert Salah, I said it's still going to be up to him, but most likely not going to see him until the opening. If it were me, I would probably...

I don't know. I would probably try to go get a couple reps. I just think I'd feel more confident in my Achilles if I got just a couple reps. I'm talking a series. I'm not talking a lot. He doesn't need the reps to get on a timing with his receivers. He doesn't need the chemistry buildup. I just think for me to have confidence... You might need it with Garrett Wilson after what we saw yesterday. I'm not worried about that. But just from a timing standpoint, I just...

I'm not worried about any of that. You can simulate that in 7-on-7. It would just be really helpful to feel confident enough in the Achilles in a live game situation to be able to go out there and, God forbid, you had a setback, but that's just so unlikely. It's just so, so unlikely at this point of his recovery.

What's on your mind today, Damien? Well, guys, it's one Mark Cuban's birthday. Any guess on how old he is? I'd say 53. I'd say 58. 61. He is 66 years old. Wow. Older than I anticipated. Any guess on his net worth? 61. I'm going to say $3.8 billion. $5.4 billion. Getting it done. Yes, he is. Excellent, Shark Tank.

Yeah, that's what got him. That's what took him over the edge. Yeah. But, as we know, he is the owner of the Dallas Mavericks. So, not anymore. Well, he was. Formerly. Formerly. The owner of the Dallas Mavericks had to put that for sale. Well, he has success with the Dallas Mavericks. So, the top three for today, or what would be the top three sports organizations that you would like to be the owner of? It's a good question.

You did a good job. Oh, out the gate. Thank you. How dare you give him that praise, though? If it went by sport. Steelers are going to be one. Yankees are going to be two. Yeah.

And then I think I have a little bit of freedom to kind of go a little bit of a different direction somewhere else. I'm going to probably go Manchester United three, which would be an immediate resale the next day. Obviously, correct. Call it a career. I see what you cash out. Yes, you can have it for your 300 billion, whatever it is.

Goodbye, Ronaldo and all you other guys. We had a good run. We're done. Yeah. Buy the Barons and shut it down. Love that. I don't think you'd need to sell Man U to get the Barons. No, but I'd have a lot left. Yeah, you think? I would buy, it would all be football. All due respect to baseball, I'm bored by it, and I don't want to run a league that

or own a team in a league that the players have all the power. So the NBA is out as well. It'd all be football. All football. Yeah. You've seen these meteorite steals coming in, right? Don't care. I'm just saying. Okay. People like throwing it out there. People watch football. It's great that they have good meteorite steals. I think football to me as an owner, I would enjoy a lot more.

Cowboys won, probably worth about 15B. I could live with that. That would definitely be one. Number two, probably the New York Giants. The Giants? Over the Jets. They just have a bigger fan base. So I look at it in terms of Cole's idea. Like, man, you, I want to sell it and get rich. Jets are not worth as much as the Giants. So simple as that. And then three, I'd probably go...

With the Los Angeles Rams, because you'd have that monstrosity named SoFi, where you are the owner of as Stan Kroenke. So those would probably be the three at the top for me. Also, 60% of your value immediately gone. Taxes.

60% of 10 billion is pretty good. You seen the real estate out there? 60% of 10 billion is fine. You can take it. I'll keep the four in cash, and we'll rock and roll. 2023 value, in case you were wondering, Giants 6.8 billion. And that's two? What is that? Three. Giants are fourth. The Jets 6.1 billion, seventh. Yep.

I kind of forgot about the Raiders. That'd be pretty sweet. Raiders? Yeah. In Vegas, too, man. Brand new stadium. Live up on the mountain up there. Don't love the stadium. Cowboys first, nine. Patriots second, seven. Rams third, 6.9.

I got three of the top four. Oops. Oh, I sold mine for 5.1. Oh, no. He got eight. We'll be all right. They're billionaires. Yes, it matters. That's a steal. These guys aren't keeping score. Maybe, Jared. Number one for me is the Dallas Cowboys. I know they're the most valuable brand in all of sports, so I would pull a Cole, buy them, and turn around and instantly flip them.

To go in number two by the Golden State Warriors to do the exact same thing. I know I would lose 85% in taxes, but I'd like to think that the sale of the Cowboys would kind of offset that. And once I sold both of those, I would then take that money for number three, my passion project and own the Saints. I would keep that one, actually put it in competent hands. But the other ones, I know I'd have enough money to be all right. Okay.

Cowboys 1 at 9, Yankees 2 at 7.1, Warriors 3 at 7, tied with the Patriots.

So a little bit of a surprise there. Bears at 6.3, by the way, which would be a fun one. You just have to find something to go do. Chicago Bears? After November. After November. Private equity coming, maybe. You're also in a miserable spot with building a stadium built. Chicago's a disaster. I don't want a new stadium. That part of Chicago isn't. You go to Dome? No. I'm talking about just politically. You can't get the stadium built.

I want Soldier Field. You want Soldier Field? Have you been there? Yes, I have. Multiple times. Rough. Listen, it's your money. You can do whatever you want with it. Number three for me would be the New York Yankees. Number two for me would be the Tennessee Titans. And number one is the Dallas Cowboys. I don't need the press conference or anything like Jerry McDowell. I don't need it. But that star, that thing still holds weight. It's worth a lot.

How much of it depended, too, on, like you said, Greg, with Stan Kroenke owning that stadium? If you did, if you didn't. I mean, obviously, like, Jerry owns that stadium, so that's a little bit different. I would imagine that that would make a lot of things a lot easier, a lot better for you, if you had the capabilities to be able to throw that in there. I think owning the stadium would be really nice. By the way, Real Madrid only $6.1 billion. Manchester United $6 billion.

That's it. I know they're surprisingly low. We'll take the Patriots instead and sell them. That's wild. It will. All right.
