This Chalks94.5 podcast is brought to you by Millennium Satellite and Video. Log on to MSPNOW.com. TV excellence everywhere. That's Millennium. All right, welcome back in. McElroy and Kubelik in the morning. Kind of revisit a couple of the things we talked about earlier in the show. As McElroy, first day of school for his oldest in studio now.

And we talked about just kind of coaching in general and some of the things that were making noise. Hugh Freeze was in the news and then wanted to play a clip from Matt Rule that I thought was really cool as well. And I want you to hear it first. I want you to tell our listeners about Polar Bear Services and what they can do for them. So many different things around your house. I call Polar Bear Services for pretty much everything. And I've had great experience having them out for electrical issues, had them out.

to take care of some plumbing issues. Had them install a faucet the other day. Wes and the guys do an amazing job, but they really specialize in your HVAC system. So know that right now, as weather starts to approach triple digits, don't put it off. Get it taken care of.

with Polar Bear Services. They do system tune-up, duct cleaning, repair, new installations. They are an independent train dealer, and you know it's hard to stop trains. Remember, if you have a problem with your electrical, plumbing, heat, or air, just pick up the phone and call the Bears. 205-497-BEAR. That's 497-BEAR. I want to start with this, Greg, from Hugh Freeze, sitting down with Marty and McGee at SEC Media Days. Just talked about the success that he had against Coach Saban. We'll get to that one in just a moment. Basically saying that...

Well, at Ole Miss, it was certainly, I think we were one of the first staffs to bring in the tempo RPO world, and he didn't like that at all and tried to get it changed and all of that. Then he started doing it. And he's a good friend of mine, for sure. But I did understand what complicated their calls. I mean, we honestly, Nick is incredible, but I should have four wins against them.

We beat them twice, and we had them 24-3 the third year, and I wasn't smart enough to slow it down. And then last year easily could have gone our way. So I may have not phrased that exactly right on everybody, but we easily could have beat them a few more times.

So I didn't want the focal point to be on thinking that he should have had another win, Greg. I know that's kind of low-hanging fruit, and a lot of people kind of want to get mad at that. But it was sort of the awareness that I heard from Hugh Freeze there of what he did not do as a younger coach and things that maybe he could alter a little bit moving forward. I think it's good to hear that awareness about your head coach and hear that he wants to sort of self-scout, evaluate, and change things moving forward. Well, I think also...

Part of the problems with that offense is that four-minute offense and taking the air out of the football and having to play ball as opposed to play scheme is something that is kind of tough on those teams. That's why you're at a bit of a disadvantage in those four-minute offense situations. It's impossible to stop in regular down-and-distance situations.

Really, really good when you get in a nice rhythm. But when you have to slow things down, it disrupts that rhythm that you're so used to and so accustomed to that it makes it challenging to close out games. So I think that's part of the evolution of that offense. I don't think Hugh's the only one that's had to deal with it. I think those that have utilized tempo like that in the past have all struggled with it. And it's just finding the right balance when you're trying to put it, you know, put the game on ice. So that was Hugh Freeze talking about he and Nick Saban. And again, kind of mentioned it a little bit more when he was talking about the fourth and 31 play.

We've got to coach better. If you're not accountable through the week and little things, it will show up on third down. It'll show up on fourth down. And so some of that fault is the culture. Some of it is coaching. Maybe we didn't coach it good enough. Not winning that game sucked. It stunk. It was disappointing, hard. But at the same time, I didn't think our roster was as good as theirs.

And it gave me even more confidence that Auburn can return to one of the top programs in the country pretty fast because we went toe to toe with them and should have won the game, truthfully. But so it was a mixed bag of this is awful. But man, we can play with them.

So some good and some things that people probably won't like there, G-Mac. But once again, that awareness, the self-scouting portion of saying, I just like the accountability from a coach instead of pointing fingers at a player, obviously, anytime. But what did you take away from kind of where Coach Freeze went with that? Well, what I'm trying to figure out, those that take issue with it, what do you want to say?

Should have kissed the ring. What kind of competitive attitude is that? Just being honest, what is the expected answer when asked specifically about that game? What do you want them to say? That's my, I mean, if you're a competitor, you believe that the ball is on your racket, no? Yeah. I mean, you believe and you want that chance to put that game on ice. You want to finish it. They didn't, but they certainly believe if they had done things differently, they could have.

What do you want them to believe? When we lost games at Alabama, Coach David didn't come back and say, well, they did this, they did that, they did this, they did that. No, he said, we did this, we did that, we did this, we did that. You take personal accountability. You take personal responsibility for the outcome of the game. It's on you. It's your fault. What can you do differently to make sure it doesn't happen again?

So I guess I just don't understand what people want the reaction to be from Hugh Freeze. No, I mean, I loved it. I thought it was accurate as far as taking that accountability. You've got to coach a little bit better and an understanding of just kind of how and why it happened. Talk about those details as well. The small things, the little things. We mentioned that earlier, this clip from Matt Rule, Greg, kind of, it feels like he stopped practice, right?

And then did this maybe in a scrimmage that they were having in the stadium. But just listen to some of Matt Rule addressing his team. If you guys want to know why we've lost a lot of close games, you just saw it. We thud here, but because there's people watching, you don't want to look stupid because you're not leveraging the football. We're just grabbing people and pulling them down. Which means either you're not a good athlete or you're not doing what we're trained to do. Our seniors, their first drive, they go sit on the bench and practice. Appreciate it.

A fight breaks out in front of the fans. So I'll make my point. But this is why we lose. Because the minute there's people here, we don't do what we do anymore. How about we have pride in the way we practice tomorrow? Do your job the right way while we're out here. Yes? Yes, sir. Do everything right. You can't change your shot with the game on the line. You do what you do. And I'm demanding you do it right. I promise you this will be a long night.

For no reason other than I'm not losing. And that was losing. Not the result. The process sucked. So go to the rest of the practice, and I expect a standard, Ty. I expect a standard from you older guys. It's time to win. It's time to win. Winning is every day. Let's get to work.

I feel like a lot of that probably very familiar to you and how you were coached specifically in college. Focus on those little things. You heard Rule say there the process sucked. It wasn't the result. It was the process that he didn't like. Talked about leadership, seniors setting the tone. I had never heard before, G-Mac, you can't change your shot with the game on the line, but I love that line from that Rule. Yeah.

I love it. I mean, he's the man, by the way. I love Matt Rule. I think he's a great coach, and he's a great process-oriented program builder. I mean, that's what you want. If you're Nebraska, you need a program builder. He is that. And in the modern era, in the last 10 years in college football, who, outside of Nick Saban, has built stronger foundation on their program from scratch,

than what Matt Rule did at both Baylor and at Temple. Yep. And look, I'm not suggesting Lane Kiffin didn't do an amazing job at Ole Miss and other places haven't also. What Kirby's done at Georgia, incredible. But they started with a little bit. They started on third base. They had a trust fund. Baylor and Temple?

Now, man, specifically where Baylor was started at the bottom, bottom, bottom. All right. They didn't have a dollar to their name. And as a result, they, they went and had one heck of a run under his tutelage. I think he's really, really smart there. And that's all. I mean, that's all it's about, man. The difference. And for Nebraska, you really think about Nebraska specifically, and this is applicable to all teams. If your team's lost close games in the last handful of years, the margins in this sport are insane.

I mean, in the NFL, it's absurd, but we're getting closer and closer to the NFL as far as parity and quality. I mean, that's coming with where we're going on schedules. There's a reason why the best teams in the country this year, according to Vegas, all have 10 and a half by their name. Not 11 and a half. Used to be 11 and a half. That was the best team. Not anymore. Now it's 10 and a half.

So we're getting closer and closer to the parody reign supreme and college football is going to be good. Well, it's a six and six sport. People will be saying that soon, just like they do in the NFL. It's an eight and eight league. So I think the margins are so thin that every single detail that you account for in practice has to be of the utmost importance. And I, I love what he said there. I think he's the man. Oh, it was awesome. So I kind of wanted to play it. And then,

You lean all that into, roll that into one thing that we didn't get to that Kalen DeBoer said yesterday about his group during the scrimmage and just kind of how they operated. You want to build a little bit more momentum. You want to be a little bit happier, feel better about how things are going. This was the Alabama head coach from over the weekend. I think the offense maybe drew the defense off one time. And so just procedure-wise, yeah.

I don't know if there's any false starts offensively, no illegal formations, so no movements. And if there was, maybe it was one that I can't remember. But that's where I think that we were pretty clean. So the mental mistakes or what I'd call a foolish penalty, we were just not sharp, really kind of honed in on that here. So I think we took the next step with the other penalties too.

really not much from a holding. I don't know if we got any holding calls out there. We had one kind of legal block, kind of block back, crack back block kind of, that was really good for us to actually have happen because we can learn from that and talk through that. So, yeah,

Yeah, just you know guys maybe one pass interference. So those the penalties were really down and minimal so I like the way we're having some urgency and you know, we'll move around offensively and the guys are all getting set so all those processes that we have in place that the guys are doing a really good job.

So twofold for me here, Greg. One, obviously going back to what Matt Rule said and what Coach Free said, little things get you beat. Have to sharpen up the little things if you're going to be a championship caliber football team. But when things change, when things are different, whether that's your cadence, your play calls, the players around you, how you're coached, where you line up, how you line up,

All those different things, the verbiage, oftentimes that comes with mistakes. It's not necessarily clean early on. So to hear Kalen DeBoer say that things are being managed in a very clean fashion right now for Alabama, that would give me a lot of confidence in what this team might be able to do this year. No question. And I think that's something that really needs to be acknowledged at this point is if they are in a great spot,

then from a communication, understanding, fundamental understanding, at this point of camp, you're in a great position. And you really think about the team that he inherited, too. I mean, these are guys that came to Alabama. They expect to win. They want to win. These are great competitors. The previous regime, they... I mean, it was a complex offensive and defensive system. I mean, it's not like this is going to be more complicated than what they ran in the past. So...

I think they're doing a great job, and I'm really encouraged by all the things I've heard. Yeah, I think you have to be pleased to hear that from Kalen DeBoer. You don't want penalties. You don't want mistakes and lack of procedures and holdings, different things. I mean, usually, let's be honest, when do you usually hold?

When you either make a mistake or you get beat. I mean, honestly, that's usually when a holding occurs. You get beat or you make a mistake. And you're trying to overcorrect something that's happened, either a technical fundamental flaw and you got beat or you went the wrong way and you're trying to make up for it. That's oftentimes when holding calls become present. So to be able to have those things all be limited right now, I think is pretty impressive for that Alabama team. Jimmy is in Birmingham, wants to talk to you. Freeze. Welcome into the show, Jimmy.

I'm sorry, this is Jimmy. Yeah, it's Alabama scrimmage. I don't know where they got that from. But anyway, you know, everybody's got an inside source. You guys played the game. You guys have contacts with the universities. I was talking to someone Saturday, went to the scrimmage at Alabama, former player in the 60s. I asked him what the big concerns are, and he said secondary. Then Cole, he said on the offense side.

the center, Braceville. He said that he would be afraid that he would get pushed around in a game like Georgia. So I wonder if y'all would both comment on the secondary. How concerned are you, Greg? And Cole, are you in the center situation? Sure. Thanks for the call, Jimmy. Appreciate it. GMAC secondary, it's a new coverage. It's a new scheme. Yes. You imagine some of these things are going to happen. You're going to have some busts. You're going to have some guys misaligned. You're going to have some guys...

You know, take the wrong receivers at certain points in time. It's not, it's not, this happens when you've been in the system for three and four years early on. So yeah, it's not, it's not defense. Usually have the offensive. Let me be honest. That's not the case right now in Tuscaloosa, but I've heard it's not the case in a lot of places. They're not the only ones like supposedly Clemson's offense kicking Clemson's defense tail. So like who saw that coming?

You know what I mean? So sometimes just, hey, when someone catches fire and they get hot and just kind of carries out throughout camp, you just hope you can keep that momentum rolling. What I would say about the secondary is that it is a significant concern for me. I just don't like playing true freshmen at positions of vulnerability. If a, let's just be real, if a left guard gets beat, how often does that left guard getting beat translate to seven points for the other team?

Not very often. Not very often. Quarterback can step up. Not saying it's important. It's super important. It's a highly valuable position. The closer you get to the interior of the offensive line, the more important the gap integrity becomes and protection and stuff like that. It's super. So not minimizing or watering down the position. But there's about three positions where if you screw up, it's going to result in a touchdown the other direction.

Quarterback is one. Corner is the other. Safety is the other. But a safety, hey, stay deep in the deepest. To be honest, it's not that hard. Hey, don't let anyone run past you. Keep them in front. Keep them in front of you. Like, if you miss a tackle, fine. Slow them down enough so that one of your buddies can come over and clean up the mess, right? Corner, you're on an island, dude.

So I really don't like starting true freshmen at corner and quarterback. Just don't. Just don't. It's just too vulnerable. There's too much on their plate. Bryce Young was a super elite player. Did not start as a freshman. Thank goodness he didn't. Tua Tonga-Vailoa wasn't ready to start as a freshman. Ended up after five months getting thrust to a pretty important game as a true freshman. Played great.

But that was a unique circumstance. He certainly wasn't ready if he had to go week one. Corner, D. Milner, ended up being a top ten pick in the NFL draft. Got torched by Alshon Jeffrey. Torched. Doesn't mean he wasn't a great player. It just means you got a grown man that's 225 pounds. I've never covered someone that big before. I'm just having it. That's hard. So I think Corner is a really concerning position to be super young. I think they're crazy talented at the position. I think they have good depth. They're just young.

So some freshmen can handle it, some freshmen can't. I hope Zabian Brown can, because he's going to be asked to do an awful lot. We'll go to the Parker Braille Street. Yeah, we'll go to that on the other side first. Look how small. You'll have to wait for us to discuss that, but one thing you never have to wait for is your dental care. We we've said that Parker Brailsford is a little bit light and

It's something that potentially, not guaranteeing, but potentially could be a little bit of an issue. And I think there are some ways around it. Number one, he was light last year. He understands how to sort of manage that. Technically and fundamentally, he's a very good player. He is a strong technical football player. That's part of what assists his game. The biggest assist is going to be having Jaden Roberts and Tyler Booker next to him.

So you're going to have two 330 plus being able to assist in a lot of what you're going to be able to do. A lot of teams not playing the old bear defense anymore with a nose guard and two D tackles covering up your guards to make sure your center is one-on-one. Will they see it occasionally? Maybe, but boy, that gives you some advantages in other places if that's how you want to try to run it. So,

Then you look down the schedule, Greg. I do think it's more than just Georgia, though. I don't think the schedule is necessarily loaded with teams. It could be problematic, but South Carolina could be a problem there. Tennessee could be a problem there. Oklahoma could be a problem there. So there are a couple of others that could be a handful when you're coming to deal with somebody who might be one-on-one with Parker Brailsford, but...

I'm not looking at it by any stretch of the imagination as a liability for this team going into the season. No, I think they'll be fine. The other thing that I would say about Parker Brailsford, just want to make sure we're all on the same page here last year. They did play Texas, correct? Yes. He's played them pretty well. And remind me, Texas had a 360-pound de-tackle?

And a 320. Somewhere around there. And the 320 was pretty active. Very. He's now wealthy. Yeah. Byron Murphy. I don't know if you saw him in his preseason game the other night, but he was striking and shedding a couple guys. He's going to be nice. Walking them into the backfield. He's going to be nice. Pretty good for Seattle. He's going to make money playing football. Yes. For a long time. And he'll probably get his pension.

In the league. I think that's a safe bet. Safe bet. So, all that being said, Washington won that game, right? They did. I don't remember the center being a huge issue, right? Nope. So, he played the best defensive tackle tandem in the country last year by a mile. Played Oregon twice. Played Oregon twice. Remember how good they are up front? Played Utah. Played Arizona. Arizona had a couple dudes up front that can flat out play. Played Michigan. Didn't go so well, but.

Not all on him. No, definitely not on him. That was a collective effort. That was multiple. So, all that being said, he's seen it. He's lived to tell the tale. Arizona had a good front last year. Would it be? That's what I said. I thought you said Arizona State. I don't know about Arizona State. You can have the forks. No, Arizona. That's what I said. They beat them like 30-24. It's like, Washington stinks. How'd they only beat Wildcats by six?

Well, because they had a 350-pound D-tackle that was a freaking handful. Go watch that D-tackle play against Washington State. Go watch him play against a few other guys. That guy, dude, that dude's a load. So I think that he's going to be fine. Of all the things that concern me about this team, center ain't one of them. Right tackle, I'm more concerned about the center. And I think right tackle's going to be all right.

Yeah, I think it's going to be okay. And there will be some games where he gets a one-on-one and physically may be overwhelmed to a certain extent, but I don't see that costing Alabama games per se. I think it's good to see that you have some of those guys on the inside of Alabama's defensive line that are pushing people around. I'd be more excited about that because that has also been a question mark for Greg and I, one that could be answered because the potential is there.

We've seen Keenan do some good things. We've seen Tim Smith do some good things at times. We've seen Jaheim Otis do some good things at times, but we need to see it more consistently. And none of those have been a game wrecker on a regular basis. So I'd be more excited that that was happening a little bit and potentially taking place.

Why was Coach Prime so frustrated earlier this week? Sean Keeler is going to tell us next on McIlroy and Kubelik in the morning. All right, welcome back in. McIlroy and Kubelik in the morning. Moving along, talk some Colorado Buffalo. Sean Keeler going to be with us here in just a moment. 931, Tuesday, August 13th on JOX 94.5. Listen online, joxfm.com. You might want to move along in a golf cart, though, Greg. And if they do, tell them how.

Well, Iconic Carts will have you covered. They have four and six passenger golf carts that you can rent. See how you use it around the neighborhood, around the beach, around the mountains, around the lake, whatever. You might really enjoy it. And around the neighborhood, too. I mean, I would have loved to have had a golf cart today getting to it from school. I can think those things might have a little bit more freedom surrounding the orange and blue cones, which I almost ran right over. Disrespected them. Now, the red and white, yeah, I would have disrespected.

I would have politely obliged with where those were for sure. But Iconic Cards has you covered. Two locations, too, to make it easy on you. Down in Chelsea, and they also are downtown. They have master technicians that can get you taken care of with all makes and models, but they specialize in the Denago and the Evolution Cards. These are beautiful. Tons of options, ways to load them up, touchscreen controls, killer sound system, you name it. They got it. So go see them in one of those two locations, downtown or in Chelsea, or you can go online at iconiccards.com.

All right, going to go to Sean Keower now of the Denver Post. He joins us on the Buyer's Right Hotline. And Sean, we've got you on to talk Colorado Coach Prime, but I want to start with this. Is Bo Nix going to be the starter for Denver this year?

Uh, yeah. Short answer for, for all you war Eagle fans down there. Yeah. Yeah. He's the guy. Uh, and if they, if he isn't the guy, he'll be the guy by about halfway through the opener in Seattle. No, I think the plan is for him to, uh, to start week one all along. All right. So now let's move on to Colorado and coach prime, uh, your article up at Denver post.com now that you can go find, um,

He decided to make some things kind of personal with you. What was it that had him agitated in the exchange? We played it on the show a couple days ago. Why did that exchange go that way?

Well, I think he's kind of been building up some scar tissue, I think, for months and weeks. We've pointed out how some of the transfers have left a bad taste in everybody's mouth on both sides. I think they had 17 guys leave – no, sorry, 15 guys leave in 17 days. We're like, hey, man, this is not normal. And it's not. And he's like, well, yeah, it's normal for how I do it. And we've had some back and forth that way. I –

I think he's angry in the collective about a lot of things that he can't control. You know, I'm sure you guys have talked about some of the anonymous sourcing that's been out there. I'm sure you've talked about the on-the-record sourcing from former players in the athletic who –

And they said it to me, too, last year that he just kind of walked in and said, you know, 30 guys, however many guys, you know, get out. In a mass meeting. And apparently he's had some behind-the-scenes business things with some big media companies, including a three-letter one that starts with C and ends with S, that didn't work out and decided to take it out on anybody who's got CBS in their name. So I think there's a collective effort.

pressure there that we hadn't seen that kind of just kind of rapid fire from him at like even friendly targets, I guess that we're all a little, a little confused. So it's, it's not just me. So is he feeling like,

Like job security pressure. I mean, because to me, you start showing signs of cracking in camp. Makes me a little. I mean, now is like everyone's undefeated. We're the best team ever. We're never going to lose. Like now, if anything, should be the time in which you're joyful about what's upcoming. And yet he's everything. But so is there buzz about them maybe not being as good as anticipated or what?

I think there's a worry that the ghost of five and seven tapped him on the shoulder and somebody got out of a time machine in November and said, this may not go well. This is going to be – this might not be what you think it's going to be. Because, yeah, that was the tone – that was the Dion we expected after a loss at Nebraska, hypothetically, not –

to open camp on his birthday at a time when we're all going in there trying to talk about, you know, preseason stories and preseason narratives. And this is the season they've been building for, like you said, you've got so much change and it's so much more talent theoretically relative to what you had last year. And we're like, where, you know, and my question I was going to ask him is what do you define as

as a success for this season, given that all the chips have been pointing towards, uh, you know, making this a maximizing this opportunity for the last dance with your sons and, and with Travis Hunter, who's going to go pro early. And, uh, well, we didn't, we didn't get the chance to ask that question. And I'm, I'm not sure if, if we're ever going to get the chance. Hotline, follow him on Twitter at Sean Keeler, S E A N Keeler. Uh, well,

What was the frustrations with some of the offensive line questions? I thought they were totally fair. The semantics, I understand maybe technicalities of some of the words and the actual definitions of them. But at the end of the day, you want to know, is that group going to be better? Is it going to be improved? And they went out and got new guys to try to make it better. Why be frustrated about those questions that way?

And it's a perfectly legitimate question. It's a question that's going to decide this season. It's a question that's going to decide his son's health, never mind his fate. I think it goes back to whatever –

collective rage he's got built up. He's trying to kind of poke at windmills a little bit here. And I, and I, I get that in the macro of like, you know, it's us against the world, but like no one in that room was against you in any way. And many of them were very much for you. I don't know, man. I, it would worry me as much as I'm

social media and how much of that is real and not real because we kind of live in a bots world and There are stories you hear whispers about Deon's Social media presence how much of that is real and how much of that is manufactured frankly But I would be worried if I were a Colorado fan that again to your point that this is the tone Not just me because that's fine. We you're a columnist and

You get to share your opinion and take shots. It's fair that he should take shots at me. That's fine. I'm a big boy, as you can see from the video. I look like Peter Griffin and Sasquatch had a baby. You can come at me. That's fine. But you're coming at a CBS affiliate who –

and an above Salam who's just there to ask a preview question and had nothing to do with whatever your beef is with a larger CBS entity and didn't even know and wouldn't have known you're arguing bolster versus improve with an AP writer who's been there for decades and doesn't have any agenda other than trying to write a story to make a deadline. You're,

You're just, you're, you're picking fights that don't have to be there. And I'm, I'm confused by that. And I would be worried if I were a buffs fan that you're, you're bracing for something that's the, what's the line all about Eve buck, you know, buckle up. It's going to be a bumpy night and we haven't even, we haven't even started yet. So I, I don't know. I, it shocked me and we're going to maybe get some access to him Friday. We'll see. I'll be curious what his mood is there. And if that's any different a week later, looking at,

Kind of the national temperature on Deion Sanders. I think he has a lot of support. He's remarkably polarizing figure. Um, just because he, he went scorched earth on everybody, you know, he went scorched earth on the establishment. I think that as a result generated some support, but also it alienated a lot of people that would probably have been super supportive of, of him doing things a different way, but he basically trashed the way everyone else has done it. This is how I'm gonna do it. And this is how things should be done, you know, and that's fine. Um,

But I'm just curious, how do Buffs fans feel about them? I know they're relevant now, which is really nice, but they're also the target for...

for a significant amount of vitriol from opposing coaches. They are going to get every team's best shot now. So how do Colorado fans feel? Because I know how the national fan feels. We all kind of want them to win. But I'm curious how they feel in your backyard. Oh, they've rallied. I mean, they're so... I mean, they made this hire because...

They were desperate to get back onto the scene at a time where your national presence has to mean something. The game is in a transitional period. You guys have talked about it. Well, no, it's not going to be an issue where you guys are, but you know, the powers that be are going to be the powers of the P Alabama and Auburn are going to be a part of whatever premier league that's coming, you know, down the line there they're locked in. It's okay. But Colorado, uh,

You don't know. And they don't know. And I think they read the tea leaves on where the game is going, if that makes sense. And having to be like, we can't be, you know, Purdue. And no offense to Purdue. One of my best friends went to Purdue. God bless them. You know, boiler special, baby. But you see my point that at some point there's going to be a delineation where your brand is

has to matter on some level nationally to be relevant, whether that's good or not. I mean, I think Nebraska is probably part of some college football Premier League too, but they'll probably be relegation fodder at some point the way they've gone. And we'll see, depending on what Matt Rule does. But I think that they're really rallying behind the idea that this –

This is the person that's going to make us important again. Whether it makes us good, we don't care. It's going to make us important. And we have to have this brand be important to continue to be among the elites, whatever level that is in college football. But I think the amount of, to your point, scorched earth, that works when you win. And at some point, you've got to win. And I think they can this year, and I'd be shocked if they didn't.

But if you don't, then it gets really, really, really bad. And I'll be very curious to see. I won't be curious because I'm going to be right in the middle of that. But it'll be more fun for you guys if it all starts circling down the tree. Because it won't be fun for us in the firing line because based on last week, I could get really, really unpleasant. But I don't think it will. I'd be surprised if they weren't a bowl team. I'd be surprised if they weren't a 7-8 win team. But we'll see.

Well, Sean, great stuff, man. Thanks for hopping on with us, adding some clarity to that press conference. And we look forward to having you back again soon, man. Appreciate it. Anytime. Thanks, guys. Take care up there. Absolutely. Sean Keeler of the Denver Post joining us on the Buyer's Right Hotline for all your insurance, financial, HR needs. The weird part about it, Greg, the crazy part about it to me, and Sean kind of went into it from the social media aspect of it, so much of that attention, some negative, some that has to be defended, some that just is defended, is self-inflicted. You bring it upon yourself, the reactions to the reporters in that room. That's going to have to be addressed again at some point, but you did that.

And the frustration with some of the negativity that people either ranking you too low, not saying you're the best team here or there, then the reaction to that is brought upon oneself. And it just becomes confusing as to, one, why it matters so much when it's constantly repeated that don't care, don't pay attention to it, obviously do though, and then having to respond to it again because essentially you're the one that made it negative in the first place.

I think it's going to be fascinating. But I also, look, I'm rooting for Deion. I'm just going to be completely honest with you when I say I'm rooting for him.

But I don't think it was a good look last week to go after reporters that are simply just trying to do their job. One, I don't think it's ever good for coaches to insinuate that they are reading the press clippings. Good or bad. It's never good. You're telling the guys, ignore it, ignore it, ignore it, and yet you're responding to it and preemptively responding to it, which I think is a challenge. But also, when you look at Dion and you look at Prime, I'm sorry, I should call him Prime, not Dion. When you look at his approach,

It's flashy for sure, but there's a lot of substance in his approach. Like the guy played for Bobby Bowden. There's a lot more Bobby Bowden and Deion Sanders than people would like you to think. And there is a true meritocracy. Now, hey, they have adopted the social media. They have adopted the modern things that the players nowadays enjoy. But at the same time, you go to practice to work and you're

You go to practice to be physical, and you go to practice to be better and improve. So I'm really hopeful that they're a lot better this year, but I am not. I'm just going to look at the press conference of last week, look at the response that he's had to...

Some of the criticisms at times and knowing that there are still question marks along the offensive and defensive lines. I think they'll be improved at both spots, but I also think people have spent an off season now studying Colorado when they figured them out last year. They didn't win another game.

They had the element of surprise at their advantage in the first three weeks of the season. They start three and oh, they figured them out. Oregon did gave everyone else the recipe. They were never the same after the fact. So that's going to be something that's worth watching is will it continue with the same way it did last year? Because now you don't have the element of surprise up your sleeve anymore. Absolutely. Okay. Yesterday, I promised you an all timer, bad box score of the day.

We have mentioned this team before because, well, they quit at halftime earlier in the season. They're back at it. The Munich. I don't remember. Are they the Sledgehammers? They are the Ravens. Ravens. They just snuck past the Barcelona. Dragons. 90 to 0. Whoa. Whoa. 9-0 to 0. Munich over Barcelona.

9-0 to 0. Your total yards differential, 578 to 155. Your passing yard differential, 326 to 149. Air 8. Munich outrushed Barcelona, 252 to 6. Oh, balanced attack. 252 to 6. Barcelona, 2 of 17 on third downs. That's where they got them. 2 of 17 on third down. Mm-hmm.

George Buesler passing in the game, 23 of 42, 199 yards. Oddly enough, the team finished with 135 passing yards. I don't know how you throw a couple backwards for that to happen. Chad Jeffries goes 13 of 22, 51 for Munich. Five passing touchdowns. There we go. El Adram came in and went two for two for 75 and threw a touchdown.

Jared Rodney, 12 carries, 111 yards, two rushing touchdowns. Poehler, three rushing touchdowns. Ohio, one rushing touchdowns. The six rushing touchdowns for Munich in the game. That's a lot. Add that to six passing touchdowns, and you beat somebody 90-0. That's what we say, a complete effort. Folks, 90-0? 90-0. That is a...

There's 13 tackles for loss, seven sacks from Munich. That's where the sack yard is in the gate at the passing yards. That'll get you. That'll get you every time. One backwards. Maybe so.
