Hello, you are listening to My First Podcast, a magical world of sounds made just for you and your grown-ups to enjoy together. I'm Lucy. How are you today? In My First Podcast, we learn about sounds and the words that go with them. There are so many sounds that we hear every day. Clinks, crashes, jangles and chirps.

tickling in your ear sounds and crashing far too noisy sounds. Each day is filled with wonderful sounds. And of course, we can make sounds ourselves too. Did you hear that? I'm yawning. A yawn is a sound that we make when we're tired. Can you make a sound too? Maybe your grown-ups can show you. It's time for our sound adventure.

But before we can go on our adventure, we need our magical bag of sounds. Where are you, bag of sounds? Ah, there you are. This bag is full of exciting sounds for today's adventure. I wonder what's inside. Let's open the bag to take a little listen. The sounds are all whirling around. Can you hear some of them? Clop, clip, clop. That's the sound of a horse trotting by.

Maybe the horse will be in our sound adventure today. Okay bag, it's time for you to pick our sounds. Let's close the zip and mix them up nicely. Let's dive into our bag of sound and see what treasures can be found. A hooting horn, a jangling key. Let's open up in one, two, three. This is a soft gentle sound.

Hmm, I think I know. It's the sound of rice being poured from a bag. Rice is a tiny grain that grows on plants and we cook it to make yummy food. When it hasn't been cooked, rice is hard. It makes a crunchy sound when you shake it or pour it, like tiny pebbles. Now on to sound number two. I wonder which sound will pop out next. Hmm, this is a tough one.

You can use this when you want to stick something together. Do you know it? This is the sound of sticky tape. Sticky tape is a shiny clear strip that feels sticky on one side. You can pull it from a roll and it's great for sticking things together. Thank you Bag of Sounds for giving us two sounds for today's adventure. Some rice and sticky tape. Now we only need one more sound to start our adventure.

And this sound will tell us where our adventure takes place. It could be outside or inside. We could be at a market or in a school. Where will our sound adventure be? Let's open the bag one more time. It sounds like we're inside and I can hear lots of children playing. I know, we're at a nursery.

So for today's adventure, we are at a nursery with a bag of rice and sticky tape. And this is Ikana. Hello, Ikana. Ikana and his friends are making a musical instrument called a shaker. They need scissors, rice, kitchen roll tubes, paper and sticky tape. I wonder when our sounds will pop up. Listen out for the rice and the sticky tape.

Here we go! Eekana is at nursery. Eekana and his friends sit at the table to make shakers. Eekana bangs the cardboard tubes together. Eekana cuts some paper in half. He rips the sticky tape. Eekana sticks some paper on one end of the tube. He pours rice into the tube. RIP! More sticky tape.

Eekana covers the other side of the tube. Eekana shakes his new shaker. What a great instrument! Eekana colours in his shaker. Everyone shakes their shakers. What a lot of noise! Eekana and his nursery friends made instruments called shakers. They used cardboard, rice and sticky tape. Eekana loved shaking his new shaker.

If you want to make a shaker too, make sure you ask your grown-up for help. Now, let's listen again and see if you can spot the rice in the sticky tape. Shout out loud when you hear them. That's the sticky tape. The sticky tape. The rice pouring. That's the sticky tape. Did you spot our sounds too? Great job!

It was so much fun hearing how Ekinor made his shaker. Now it's time for us to put our sounds back in the bag. Buy rice, buy sticky tape. There, they're all safely back in the bag, ready for their next adventure. Before we go, let's sing the sound adventure song. ♪ Every day learning new sounds ♪ ♪ Listen out to hear what we hear ♪

Long ones and shorter ones, beeps and blur. Higher ones, lower ones, taps and chirps. Inside or outside we hear, love to hear sounds big and small. Listen close to what we have heard, for every sound and word.

Thanks for joining me on our sound journey today.
