Taiwan's First Female Olympic Alpine Skier
Many Taiwan athletes (運動員) are giving it their all right now.
To "give it your all" (全力以赴) is to try your very best, to do the best that you can.
And that's what many athletes from Taiwan are doing at the Beijing Olympics right now.
One of those athletes is Lee Wen-yi (李玟儀).
In fact, she is the first woman from Taiwan to compete in the Olympics Alpine Skiing -- Women's Slalom event.
In slalom, the athlete has to ski down a hill as fast as they can.
But there are many gates (旗門) on the way.
Skiers have to make many tight and fast turns.
And they do this at speeds of up to 70 kilometers per hour.
That's almost as fast as a car on the highway!
The skiers go down the hill twice.
Then the times for each run are added together.
The person with the shortest time wins!
Lee Wen-yi faced 87 other slalom skiers that day.
The 19-year-old started her first run.
But after a few seconds of skiing, she fell and missed one of the gates!
But Wen-yi didn't give up.
She climbed back up, went through the gate she missed, and finished her first run.
It added an extra 20 seconds to her run time.
But she was determined (有決心).
On her second run, she did much better.
Wen-yi was one of the 50 athletes who finished both runs.
She has now made history as the first Taiwan woman skier to compete in the Alpine Skiing Women's Slalom event at the Winter Olympics.
Tire Necklace" Crocodile Finally Freed
Crocodiles are very powerful animals.
They eat mostly meat, and have sharp teeth, and very strong muscles.
But one of these tough (堅強的) animals needed some help.
It had a big "pain in the neck" (令人討厭的事物或人).
The wild crocodile in Indonesia had a motorcycle tire stuck around its neck.
People first noticed this crocodile in 2016.
The animal is about 4 meters long.
That's about as long as a car!
They were worried that as the crocodile grew bigger, it would choke to death.
Some people tried to catch the reptile (爬蟲類) and cut the tire off.
But it got away every time.
Many people called it "buaya kalung ban", which means "the crocodile with a tire necklace".
One man named Tili decided he had to help.
He made a trap (陷阱) for the crocodile.
And after many tries over three weeks, he finally caught it!
Videos online show Tili using a small saw to cut off the tire.
And the crocodile was freed from its "tire necklace".
The crocodile quickly went back into the river.
It was finally free!

Do you like bedtime stories?
It's one of the best ways to hear a story.
You put on your pajamas (睡衣).
Turn the lights down low.
Get nice and cozy (舒適) in your bed.
And someone reads you a story.
Sometimes that someone is your mom or dad.
Or maybe it's your older brother or sister.
Well, how about a Duchess(公爵夫人)?
The Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton read a bedtime story on television for children around the world.
She sat on a blanket, in front of some trees, with a cup of hot chocolate, and two soft toy owls.
The duchess read the story "The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark", by Jill Tomlinson.
It's about a young owl who is scared of the dark.
Slowly through the story, the owl learns many new things about the dark.
And at the end, its feelings about the dark are very different.
The story was chosen for Children's Mental Health Week in the United Kingdom.
Over this week, everyone, especially children, are encouraged to talk about how they feel, and understand their feelings.
At the end of her story, Duchess Kate says everyone feels scared sometimes.
But she encourages everyone to learn about the thing that scares them, before making up their minds.
