Anne Slanina is not your typical children's author. (Not that we have been able to identify a typical children's author) She is a Professor at Slippery Rock University where she prepares young people to become teachers, especially teachers of gifted children. She tells us her lovable character Annie Mouse came to her in a dream, as did her first book, Annie Mouse Meets Her Guardian Angel. Being a children's author has been quite a rewarding experience for Anne as she tells us about a day when a parent stated that "reading Annie Mouse to her child was a healing moment for them."
