Police allege 24-year-old Caitlin Braun of Brantford reached out to at least a half dozen doulas across Ontario for false pregnancies and stillbirths. Braun was arrested by Ontario police on Monday and is facing more than 30 charges. I'm in shock. She pretended to be a labour and delivery nurse. Emma says, hey, Caitlin's been lying to like a lot of people, telling them that you have died.
incredibly believable. She would go as far as to vomit in transition of labor. It's hard to believe that something like this could happen. It feels unbelievable. It feels a bit like a movie.
Trust your gut. You don't need to know why something feels off. If something feels off, that's reason enough. He's a predator. He preys on young Black women. He puts himself in places where he will be surrounded by the women who he wants to prey upon.
I noticed a piece of mail with a name that I was not familiar with at all. I just thought he was cheating on me. It really didn't cross my mind at all that he was assaulting somebody. It even makes me sick to my stomach as I'm talking about it now. I just think it's important for people who are experiencing a similar circumstance to know that you're not alone and this is not your fault. So I'm lying on this driveway.
crying and bleeding and no one called the cops this is everything that's building you to be this perfect victim you're loyal you're not going to go tell anyone you're going to keep your mouth shut and that's not just to the public but you're not even going to say anything to your abuser because your feelings don't matter
How perfect is that? He had pulled out a large kitchen knife and he starts walking towards me. He did not stop because he thought, "Oh, this is enough punches." No, he stopped because I fought. He knew to turn the cameras inside the house away. He had premeditated this attack.
I kept saying, I know there's better than this. I know life is better than this. And I can tell you that being on the other side, life is so much better than that.

In January 2022, local woman Karen Reed was implicated in the mysterious death of her boyfriend, Boston police officer John O'Keefe. It was alleged that after an innocent night out for drinks with friends, Karen and John got into a lover's quarrel en route to the next location. What happens next depends on who you ask.
Was it a crime of passion? If you believe the prosecution, it's because the evidence was so compelling. This was clearly an intentional act. And his cause of death was blunt force trauma with hypothermia. Or a corrupt police cover-up. If you believe the defense theory, however, this was all a cover-up to prevent one of their own from going down. Everyone had an opinion.
And after the 10-week trial, the jury could not come to a unanimous decision. To end in a mistrial, it's just a confirmation of just how complicated this case is. Law and Crime presents the most in-depth analysis to date of the sensational case in Karen. You can listen to Karen exclusively with Wondery Plus.
