Emma's parents bought the crumbling, 200-year-old manor in the Irish countryside, which was in complete ruins at the time.
Many people in town believed the house was haunted, but Emma's parents were skeptical until they experienced it themselves.
Emma saw a blue mist form in her room, which then took the shape of a lady with a featureless face and a long dress from a different era.
Emma's parents revealed that they too had seen the Blue Lady, standing at the bottom of their bed, and even witnessed her passing through objects.
The Blue Lady was identified as Sarah Waller, the lady of the house who was tragically shot in the shoulder during an assassination attempt on a minister and died later that night.
The family heard the piano playing by itself, doors banging, furniture moving, and even a trunk at the bottom of their bed banging at 6:30 AM every morning.
During the seance, Kate felt pain in her shoulder, mimicking Sarah Waller's fatal injury, and Emma's grandmother heard a gunshot. Sarah Waller appeared in greater detail, with a young, beautiful face and a blue teardrop shape, before vanishing.
After the seance, Emma stopped hearing footsteps and seeing the Blue Lady at night, leading her to believe that Sarah Waller was at peace.
Emma experienced a dark shadow at the foot of her bed, felt an oppressive presence, and woke up with unexplained scratches on her legs and back. She also saw a transparent face in the mirror.
During the fire, Emma's father tried to fight the flames himself but was pulled back by firefighters. The fire chief later reported seeing a woman standing in the house who vanished when they tried to rescue her.
Castles are the stuff of fairy tales, of happily-ever-afters, right? Well, things are not so rosy at Sharon Rectory in misty Ireland.
