Welcome everyone to season two of the B word. I don't know about you, but personally I'm feeling 2022. I'm feeling this undeniable sense that something big is going to happen this year. And I'll admit, I love it when I have this feeling because I know I'm about to be challenged. When I'm challenged, that means I'm not bored. And when I'm not bored, I do my best work.

When I do my best work, it's because I'm energized and I can pour into the lives of others in bigger and better ways. I recently have had so many agents ask me, Joanne, why did you give up running your real estate team and move into running a company for women in real estate? Why aren't you doing both? And y'all, I have to laugh a little at the question, mainly because it's the men that ask.

I'll give you the answer and I'll let you in on a little secret. So lean in and pay attention. I knew it was time to do something bigger. I knew it was time to become a bigger version of myself in order to make an impact on more agents than the ones I was leading by running the team.

I also knew that I could impact more agents than just teaching classes. And I also knew I couldn't do it all at the same time. I had to give a little something of myself up, which was running my production team in order to give to the women in the industry, because I knew it was time to create a world where y'all can raise your hands, ask the questions that you need asking and

without feeling nervous, without intimidation, and without judgment. Because we all know that girls can be a little bit catty. Now, I've coached a lot of women realtors over the years. And when I say a lot, I mean, I'm not even sure how many. I see the same securities over and over and over again. In fact, I had some of them myself.

I've had women tell me, Joanne, you're so successful. I was afraid to come talk to you. And I've been afraid to go talk to other women who I perceived as more successful than me. And I knew that it's just time to break down those walls. And I'm on a mission to pave the way for women in our industry to reach levels you have never dreamed of. To not be just a real estate agent, but to go further, earn more, be more, to create waves and impact lives.

In fact, if you know you want to become a different version of yourself by the end of this year, then this episode, ladies, is for you. Now I'll warn you, becoming the next level of yourself isn't cute and it is not sexy. It's messy because it's challenging and often uncomfortable. But the reality is that change is messy and growth can be uncomfortable.

Our businesses never grow beyond where we currently are, though, if we stay in our comfy zone. I mean, if we hung out all day in our PJs, well, we might not learn how to wear that amazing new outfit or put the great new makeup on because we stay in our comfort zone. The truth is, though...

If we delay the discomfort of growth by playing small, then we end up in our discomfort even longer. And what I mean by that is we get discomforted when we're too comfortable because we're just not doing anything new and challenging. We get bored and restless. And the hard truth is a lot of times we end up prolonging our own growth by not leaning into it the moment we realize we're ready for it.

I'm going to have to be uncomfortable this year in my growth journey, and I will be transparent with you. I sometimes feel like I don't know what I'm doing. Here's what we do know. Women are 67% of our industry. Did you realize that girls? 67% of all licensed realtors are in fact women, but many of the women only play at about 70% of their potential.

There are some things that stop us from getting into our full zone of genius. Some of them are industry standards and some of them are our own limiting beliefs getting in our way. Why are we stopping ourselves from stepping into our full zone of genius? Well, here's a few reasons. One, we worry that other women will judge us. It's just sometimes women's nature is to chit chat and it doesn't always come across the best way.

And we know that if we take a step from one level to the next, women will be watching and other agents will be watching and they may say something. And quite frankly, we're scared of what they'll think. Number two, by not seeking opportunities or missing them when they are there. We often look at our careers as relationships.

At a certain plateau, and we're okay being in that zone of, hey, I don't need to do more than 18 deals a year, or I don't need to do more than six deals a year, or hey, I'm going to hit 50 deals a year, and I don't even realize I could have hit 60. Because we just don't see the opportunities when they present themselves because we're so heads down and bullheadedly moving forward in the direction that we're going. The third way we don't step into our full zone of genius is imposter syndrome and self-doubt.

I've been plagued by this one many, many times in my career where I feel like maybe I'm not the best at what I'm doing. Am I teaching people something that I really shouldn't be? I look around at social media and I know you do too. And you think, oh, so-and-so has got their stuff together. And the truth is we never see the behind the scenes work that it took to get there. And we never saw the first version. So don't worry and let go of your self-doubt.

The fourth way that we don't step into our full zone of genius is feeling that we can't do big businesses and also be a stay-at-home mom. By the way, ladies, you can. I did it and I know that you can too. So here's my question for you. Did you set goals for 2022? If you did, what are your goals for 2022? Did they surpass your 2021 goals? And are they going to force you to stretch to meet them?

Have you taken a moment to seriously look at how you're going to meet them? If we don't have a how, then there's no way we're going to meet them because we cannot be happenstance agents.

Have you put into the universe what you want to accomplish this year? Or is it written on a notepad somewhere locked in a drawer? Ladies, get your vision boards out, get your whiteboards out, get your post-it notes out. I don't care where you put it, but those goals that you set for yourself need to be out and loud and visible because the only way you'll stretch to meet those goals is if they constantly look at you in the face.

Think of it like your toddler when they're really ready for a snack. They do not stay quiet about that matter. They do not let you forget that they want a snack. They are often loud, proud, and in your face that they want a cheese stick. Honey, go open the kitchen drawer and get them a cheese stick. One of my coaches once told me, and I love this concept by the way,

that we have to write out down to the minute detail of what we want because it will show up. Now, he actually gave this example for a group of women that I was sitting with and he said, for many of them, they were single, by the way. I was not, but that's okay. And what he said was,

go ahead and write out who your ideal husband is and he will show up. I mean like how tall do you want him? What color hair does he want? What color eyes do you want him to have? What kind of physique? What kind of personality? I thought it was kind of a funny example at the time, but then I got to thinking it's kind of also the same as when you go to buy a car. When you visualize what car it is you want to purchase, suddenly you start seeing those cars everywhere. Whereas you may not have noticed that car before.

It's really what my coach was saying when he said, write out the ideal husband. When you write it out and you visualize it, your eyes open to being able to see what's probably in front of you all along, or to be open to recognizing the opportunity of what's there, whereas you weren't before because it was in the very back of your brain and it wasn't fully formed as a thought.

So that's what we're going to do with our goals. Write them out loud and proud, stick them on that post-it note, treat them like a temper tantrum toddler who wants a cheese stick and keep looking at them. In fact, I will go so far as to share with you all one of my goals for this year so you can hold me accountable.

I have a goal of a million podcast downloads. I know that that's huge, guys. I know that that number may seem unattainable to some people and to some podcast hosts, that number is a drop in the bucket. For me, it means I'm going to show up. I'm going to produce the quality stuff that you guys want to hear, and I will do it consistently because that is the only way I'm going to get a million podcast downloads.

I will also ask you to help me out by sharing this podcast with a friend. Go ahead, hit the share button. I know you've got two or three girlfriends out there that could probably use this too. And oh, by the way, while you're doing that, go ahead and hold me accountable to producing some amazing content and episodes throughout the year. You can text me at 678-

877-736-8055 and tell me what you want to hear. I'm okay with that. I'm an open book. Now, along with my goals, I have to admit that I know I'm here on this earth to serve, well, a bigger purpose. And I'm meant for more.

If you're listening to this podcast or you're a member of the Real Boss Women's community, then you're meant for more too. And you are looking for a bigger purpose. You are looking for that click of women around you to push you to get there. 2022 is going to be unforgettable for me. And I am embracing that. I'm leaning into the challenges that come along with massive growth. And I'm also leaning into the challenges of learning some new skill sets and a few new things along the way.

I'm going to claim it and so should you. Claim what you're looking for. Stepping into the next level of your business is not something you can tiptoe into. You'll never get the momentum you need. You need to strap on those high heels and be ready to run the marathon in them.

Now, people may think it happens overnight to hit your goals and the success that you want. The truth is it takes you deciding for yourself that you're going to move to the next level. If you surround yourself with people who are at your current level, guess what? You'll never move up.

Finding people that will help you hit the next level means also being willing to possibly give up some relationships in your life that keep you down and seeking new opportunities and new relationships in your life that will encourage you to do more, be more and hit that next level. It may be because they've already hit it and they'll help you along the way. So I will encourage you get a mentor.

Hire or possibly consider changing your current coach. Now, if you have a coach and you're looking to change one, I will tell you that is sometimes an uncomfortable topic of conversation, but every coach knows they can only get you to a certain spot. And occasionally you got to go to a new coach before you can come back to them and continue hitting that next level. But most importantly, and I can say it again and again and again,

but surround yourself with the other women who are thinking bigger, looking at more opportunities or looking at opportunities in a different way than you on bigger platforms, because they will push you or open your eyes to what you can do too. The irony is you don't really actually have to search for it. Again, I will say it's kind of like when you decide to buy a new car and all of a sudden they show up on the road and you start seeing them all over the place.

Or I'll give you my very best analogy that I know a lot of you are going to giggle at because you know it's true. If you mentioned to your spouse that you want to take a vacation to Disney World and you just casually mentioned it in your living room, have you ever noticed that suddenly all the ads on your Facebook feed start showing you which hotels to book? Yep, it's kind of like that.

So when you speak out loud, your goals, your dreams, your wishes, and start opening your eyes, girls, it'll be in front of you. That mentor will show up. The next growth opportunity will be there and you will not be able to deny that it is meant for you. The right conference will be available for you to go learn new skill sets. Just open your eyes and look. I'm clear that my next level of growth looks so different from anything I've ever done before.

And I cannot wait to take you on this journey. Now, I am not totally clear what it looks like 24 months from now, because, hey, there's no book for this. But I know it is aligning with my heart and my soul and my vision of how to help women. In fact, my vision's never been more clear. The opportunities around me keep popping up. And so I know I'm on the right path.

I've never been placed in the same room with more women and able to answer more questions than I have before. I have never been given the opportunities to speak to some of the people that I have now. And I've just never known some of the stuff that I do now, all because I spoke into the universe. It's time to have a group just for the girls. This vision requires me to step outside my comfort zone. I'm so excited to share this journey, but you cannot hit new levels of success without

Now, I told you you have to speak out into the universe what your goals are. So, and I told you that one of my goals for podcast downloads is, but I'm going to go ahead and speak into the universe what my first big scary step of this year is. It's my second goal, by the way. I'm hosting a full-blown conference in March, and I know it'll sell out, but my goal is to have it sell out by the end of February. Okay.

This event is so much bigger than any day-long education class I've ever taught or hosted in the past, and it is jam-packed full of other women who think big. They have huge hearts. They are here to serve their communities. Women who are crushing it in their niche of real estate, and I know I'll learn from them, and so will you. This is just what the other women in our community need because it's for us, it's by us, and it's about us.

Everything taught or discussed at my conference in March has that girly factor to it. I mean, we're not just going to talk about how to use social media. We're going to bring in the best of the best in the industry and talk about how to get on social media and face the fact that we don't always like our own voices or photos because, hey, we're girls and we self-critique.

Or how do we work from home with our toddlers running around? How do we step into our leadership roles with authority and not be seen as an itch? Because let's face it, sometimes we can be. And I can't wait to see you there at it. I can't wait to share a glass of Prosecco with you at the night before his PJ and Prosecco party where we kick off the event in a girls weekend style. I can't wait to sit down with you at lunch and

And chat with some of the biggest and brightest minds in our industry because they are not imposing and they are real people just like you and me. And I can't wait for you to tell me your goals and dreams for 2022 and how I can help you along the way. If you want more information on this event, text the word events to 678-736-7000.

8 0 5 5 to get more information and the links for registration along with the hotel room block and girls go ahead and get the hotel room. It doesn't cost much. And it means that at the end of the first night, you're not going to go home, sit in your PJs and get too comfortable. You're going to stay, hang out, get to know people and be ready to go for the next day.

I'll see you there. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Before you go really fast, would you please take a second and go and leave me a review here on the B-Word podcast? It really does make a world of difference to how we show up for new people. And to give you a little thank you, because my mama always taught me that you send a thank you note or something in return for a gift.

We have got a free gift that we are changing every single month here on The B Word. So head on over once you've given your review, grab a screenshot of it, and then go to thebwordpodcast.com forward slash review. Upload it for me and I will send you a free gift immediately. Thanks in advance.
