Zoran Mamdani is dominating the press right now. The communist who has won the Democratic primary for mayor in New York City, America's greatest city.
And many on the right are outraged because this guy's an overt communist. He goes on TV and outright says capitalism is bad and we need a better means of distributing wealth. And, you know, I actually don't disagree that our wealth distribution is a big problem. Let me just start by saying, why is it that if I work 16 hours a day, I have to pay more in taxes? Now, that doesn't make sense, does it? They say, but you're making more money. Yeah, but listen, let's say...
You work an eight hour shift and you make $200. You pay taxes and you say, I'm going to work an additional eight hour shift to be productive. Now you're working even more per day, right? And what happens? You put yourself in a higher tax bracket and you got to pay more in taxes. You get less the more work you do. So I'm actually going the other direction, but we can agree on that. Now, Rep. Andy Ogle says this guy should have his citizenship
investigated because he may have lied on his citizenship forms as he held sympathies for Hamas, why he rapped eight years ago that there was this group that they were his boys and they should be freed. And this group apparently were funding Hamas. OK, I don't know. Let me just put it this way.
I don't care about these arguments of we can navigate the legal system. It is the stupidest thing in the world to me. All of it is the stupidest thing in the world. I feel like the actions of Democrats have shown they literally don't care about what is written on paper and what your laws are and why you have them. Laws, you know, let me put it this way. The UK has an unwritten constitution. And what is a constitution? It is what constitutes the body politic, the people constitution.
Well, in the United States, because we had a bunch of different colonies, the founding fathers actually had a debate over this. And there was a group being all, hey, no, no, we got you better write down. We want it written down. We want a contract, a written constitution saying here's what you can and can't do. Here's how government works. Here's what's going to play out. And I respect it. I do. But this idea that the Constitution has ever been upheld is laughably absurd. It just is.
Now, I like the Constitution, but we're really talking about our current interpretation of what constitutes the body politic. That is, free speech is recent. The Second Amendment's only been around since 2010. Yeah, I know. People are like, what are you talking about, Tim? The Second Amendment's 1789. No. Actually, various jurisdictions were allowed to bar you from having weapons.
The federal constitution only restricted what the federal government could do. That meant that if you lived in Virginia, Virginia would say, we will ban your guns. The federal government can't ban your guns. Virginia can. And so what did we get? Up until 2008 with the Heller ruling, you couldn't actually, you actually had no right to keep and bear arms.
And so the Supreme Court were like, nah, like the states can't be doing this because we've now interpreted the Constitution to apply above the states. I suppose there's constant that I guess the states are supposed to be sovereign. But here we are. Here's the point.
What we're dealing with right now in the United States is this guy is openly stating that with his cohorts, he will engage in seditious conspiracy against the American people in these United States. And there is nothing you can do to stop him because they voted for it.
So the question then is, can you vote to have someone break the law? Well, that's not really how our government is supposed to work. And if we agree on the structure at the very least, Congress would have to pass this legislation. But wait, let me actually break it down for you. We'll start with Zoran's stated policies, which I've gone over many times, but here we are.
He says Trump is tearing at the fabric of New York City in his second term. He has deployed ICE agents to pluck New Yorkers from their family. He has sent already high prices skyrocketing with tariffs, and he has threatened vital social services that working New Yorkers rely on every day. Zoran Mamdani will fight Trump's attempts to gouge the working class. I don't even know what that means. Like, what is Trump doing to make to like specifically take money from people and deliver a city where everyone can afford a dignified life?
He'll ensure our immigrant New Yorkers are protected by strengthening our sanctuary city apparatus, getting eyes out of all city facilities and ending any cooperation, increasing legal support and protecting all personal data. He'll make NYC an LGBTQIA sanctuary. Let's ignore that last part and jump to his press release where he explains what it is. I'm sorry, his memo on the policy. What is he going to do that I would say is sedition?
Now, it's a fine line, and he's barely, he's just slightly over it, in my opinion. But crossing the lines, crossing the line. Here's what he says. Eric Adams' collaboration with Trump now has ICE poised to enter Rikers Island. Stationing ICE agents on Rikers Island is not about making New York safer, but about tearing families apart and throwing our communities into disarray. The Mamdani administration will end this collaboration immediately and ensure all city-owned or city-leased facilities remain protected from Trump's deportation efforts. Hold on.
So the question is, what does it mean that city owned or leased facilities will be protected from Trump's deportation efforts? What does that mean? Now, he's dancing on the line of what I would describe as sedition. I have no problem saying it. If I'll say it right now, if in any way Zoran and his administration obstruct ICE enforcement, I mean, I mean, actually obstruct. I don't mean like not cooperate. I mean, literally try to stop it from happening.
He should be charged by the DOJ with sedition against the authority of the United States. And I can actually show you. We charge a lot of people with sedition right now, but nobody ever does because this country is composed of weak men. And that's it. That's it. I don't know. Whatever, man. This country has been weak for a very, very long time. And it just has. But let me let me read.
Says the admin will ensure that no city resources are used for immigration enforcement. They don't have to. That also helps protect undocumented New Yorkers from being the target of scammers or harassment because they won't be afraid to call the police. Overall, sanctuary laws make us safer, including by allowing undocumented people to talk to the police. That reduces crime, blah, blah, bolster legal support. Okay, legal support. Okay, fine. That's always allowed. But let me put it this way. Let's reframe where we're currently at.
In New York, let's get a hard number here. How many illegal immigrants in NYC? Let's just see what the sources can give us with our old AI buddy over here. And it takes 27 years because chat GPT is garbage. Approximately 500,000 to 600,000 in New York City. Wow.
That implies that New York is getting one extra congressional seat just based off of that population alone and one extra electoral college vote. Let's try. How about all of New York state?
How many illegal immigrants in New York state entirely? Let's try this. Imagine you're a business owner relying on a dozen different software programs, each one disconnected, more expensive and more complicated than the last. It can be incredibly stressful, right? Now picture Odoo.

Eight hundred thousand nine hundred thousand. So let's just let's just say altogether they're mostly in New York City. It's about an extra electoral college vote and congressional seat.
That is subverting the U.S. Constitution, our electoral process. And I am offended. Democrats cheat. This is what they do. When they apportion congressional seats, they don't check citizenship. They just say how many people are there. And if you got a million illegal immigrants in New York State, that means they get an extra seat in Congress.
That doesn't represent Americans. So what you have now is people have violated our laws, illegally entering the country, living in New York City in violation of federal law, subverting our Constitution and Zoran Mamdani's his pledge to protect these people. So throw away anything you want to make arguments about legal law, like whatever, and just focus like this.
We have laws intended to protect the citizenry of this country from government overreach. It is being exploited by people who have invaded our country. They have entered this country illegally, violating our laws, smuggling, oftentimes trafficked or smuggled across the border. Some of them are criminals. Some of them are just economic migrants. Many of them are economic migrants.
And Zoran says he is going to make sure they are represented. And more importantly, he will do whatever he can to subvert federal authority and the will of the American people. So you see, we voted for Donald Trump largely based on immigration. It was the second biggest issue in the election. People were fed up with it.
And so we, the American people, say, Mr. President, please enforce the law as codified. And Zoran says we will do everything we can to obstruct. Now, if you want to make an argument that him simply doing nothing is not that's not illegal. You can't go after him. I agree. If Zoran literally just says we will have nothing to do with the enforcement of federal law, that's going to be on Trump. I'd say, OK. But when he says he's going to make sure illegal immigrants, he calls them undocumented, he
are protected in city-owned leased property and things like this, this is obstruction territory. So this is conspiracy states. If two or more persons in any state or territory in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States conspire to overthrow, put down, or destroy by force the government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or to
or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States, contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 20 years or both. The problem is Americans are a weak people. It's true. I mean, listen, I think it's, I find it absolutely hilarious that people are like, what do you mean Americans are strong? And like, hold on here a minute.
To a certain degree, yes, I'll agree that historically Americans have been very strong. But take a look where we've been the last 30 years, the last several generations. They keep saying, slow down there. They don't enforce the law. They're too terrified to bring the laws that are actually codified. They don't want to use them. They're terrified, terrified.
And you've got people just sitting back being like, look, man, I don't want to get involved in this. Yeah, bro, have fun in China and China. Like, look, nobody likes authoritarian regimes. But I'm saying, bro, when a dude says that they are going to protect six hundred thousand noncitizens from you, the American public, I'm like, yo, come on there a minute, man.
You've got roughly 800, 900,000 illegal immigrants in New York state, 500 to 600 in New York city. Okay. These are criminals who have broken the law. 100% of them. They are here illegally. Now I'm not saying that you're going to prison for the rest of their lives. I'm not saying they should be mercilessly bitten. No, I'm saying they broke the law and we're going to send in the law enforcement to enforce our laws. If our laws are not enforced, we don't have a country. We just have a big spattering of land where we hope people don't fight.
So the American people nominated and elected Donald Trump and said, we want you to enforce the laws that exist. And Zoran and not just him, but California as well. And there's some all of these people conspire with their with the members of their party and their administration to obstruct or delay often by force. And you know, what's funny is the use of privateers.
There's a reason why California won't arrest or Seattle won't arrest Antifa. It's because they as a state have a problem with ordering the use of force against federal law enforcement. But they can unleash the hordes. And there's that's where we're at right now. It's always been a factor in war, privateers and corsairs. So Democrats say we can't send the police to fight ICE.
We can rally Antifa and far leftists and obstruct. And then the issue becomes, is Trump going to go after the single individual? I love it. Back in the colonial period, which is hundreds of years, France would go to the go to the crown of England and say, you're pirates. It's a you pirates are taking our ships. Come on in. And the British would be like, never. We would never condone piracy. Heavens me.
And then literally the crown of England would be like, good job, pirates. You're getting them good. Because England and France were at war quite a bit. But this is all nations. So you'd have British supply lines. And then all of a sudden pirates would show up and start firing upon them. And they'd be like, oh, France would be like, don't look at me. It was just the pirates. We have nothing to do, is it?
And we all knew who was actually sending them down. But this was the game being played. And this is where we're at right now. So how about this? How about Trump start charging his Antifa guys who are fighting ICE with sedition? How about that? What do they do? Rep. McIver gets hit. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. She hits a cop.
Probably more than once. I think she shoves and punches a guy and she gets a simple assault on an officer charge. Better than nothing. But she is using force to delay the execution of laws in the United States. We got a bunch of weak men. Democrats and we is why I love Democrats. I really, really do. Democrats will arrest your lawyer. They'll be like, we're going to use the weight of the political machine against you to steal power. And you'll be like, OK, OK, well, hold on.
OK, I'm going to try and defend myself with a lawyer and they'll go, your lawyer's under arrest now. And the lawyer is like, I quit. I'm so sorry. I should never have worked with this man. And Republicans are like, oh, well, I guess. And libertarians are like, that was always fine. So here's where we are. Are the American people going to use the laws on the books and say, hey, these people aren't American citizens? They they should not be protected. Right. They should be. Look.
I don't think that illegal entering the country is like the worst crime ever committed. OK, but it is a crime. Imagine if Zoran Mamdani said shoplifters in New York City will be protected and we will make sure the law is not enforced against them by any means possible. You'd be like, what? Shoplifters? Yep. It's a petty offense. Shoplifting, a minor misdemeanor.
Shoplifting is nowhere near as bad as illegal entering the country, but it would be absurd, right? You'd be like, no, that's nuts. What are you talking about? You've got to enforce the law against against criminals. Nope. Not when those criminals provide political power to corrupt individuals in government. So maybe the DOJ will actually start enforcing laws. I really doubt it. Lord, help these people. If I ever got anywhere near the DOJ because I I don't know, man.
I'm nuts, I guess. I actually think we need to enforce the law as the law is meant to be enforced. And I think the important thing is, let me put it this way. I don't care for the mechanized state. I don't care for the but the words mean this. No, no, no, no. We understand. OK, I'm not I'm not going to sit back while cops.
Give some dude a ticket and then he can't go to work or people in New York, they get arrested. There's no evidence. Let's say they get arrested for there's a fight that breaks out. Some guy's in the wrong place at the wrong time. He gets arrested. He goes to jail. He doesn't get proper bail hearings. Then he misses work. So he loses his job. He gets out. Now he doesn't have money. Now he's going to lose his apartment. That stuff should never happen. At the same time, people who are literally saying these criminals who are here will be protected. It's like, OK, hold on there a minute.
This is anarcho-tyranny. There are minor offenses that American citizens commit that can destroy their lives. And we say, well, you shouldn't have broken the law. You got into a fight with some guy at a bar and the bar got vandalized and you got charged with a misdemeanor. Sure. But what they're doing is a million times worse. They arrested Trump's lawyers. I'll leave it there, man. Stay tuned. We got more coming up today. Smash the like button. Share the show. Thanks for hanging out. We'll see you all in the next segment.
In a massive victory for Donald Trump, the Supreme Court has sided with the Trump administration saying universal injunctions are beyond judicial authority and that Trump can enforce his executive order restricting birthright citizenship in certain instances. This is a massive move, which could effectively mean that all of these universal injunctions designed to stop Trump's agenda have just been halted.
Now, over at SCOTUSblog, they're saying this is a bit of a punt, meaning they didn't exactly issue a ruling on whether or not birthright citizenship actually applies to non-citizens' children. And they didn't outright say forever, but right now, Trump basically just gets to walk past all of these district courts. Here's how it's supposed to work. I file a lawsuit against, let's say, Trump, right?
When the judge says, actually, Mr. Poole is correct, the injunction only applies to me. If you want it to apply to a larger group of people, that's called a class action lawsuit. And now they're basically saying, yeah, only the plaintiffs. So in most of these instances, the courts can only issue rulings pertaining to the individuals who filed suit. Here's the report from Courthouse News.
They say President Donald Trump can enforce limits on birthright citizenship for some immigrants. The Supreme Court ruled on Friday, allowing the White House to implement one of its most controversial policies. On his first day back in the Oval Office, Trump issued an executive order limiting birthright citizenship to legal permanent residents. Birthright citizenship began as a rebuke to Dred Scott v. Stanford, which affirmed the legality of slavery and denied black people citizenship.
After the Civil War, lawmakers enshrined the 14th Amendment, which declares that all persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof are citizens of the U.S. and of the state where they reside. Trump claims that people in the country illegally or temporarily are not subject.
subject to the jurisdiction of the U.S. and therefore are not necessarily citizens. And he is correct. The purpose of the 14th Amendment was to remedy the issue of slavery. It's basically like this. If you were born here as a slave and they said you weren't a citizen, but you're born here and the U.S. government has jurisdiction over you, nobody else, meaning like they had slave patrols,
You were a citizen now. That's what it meant. Not that if you came over here from China, had a baby and then left, that baby would permanently be a U.S. citizen for their entire life. I just give you the example, the absurdity. Family flies here from China. They get a three month visa. The woman is seven months pregnant. She gives birth just before the visa expires. The baby is born and the whole family leaves. That's right. Even the baby.
which goes on to live a beautiful Chinese Communist Party life, growing up for 20 years, raising the red fist, pledging allegiance to the Communist Party. And then at around 21 or so moves back to the United States, a full fledged American citizen for having been born here and stayed for only a few minutes. Obviously, there's issues with a baby flying right away. I get it. Maybe they went by boat. The point is,
This individual barely speaks English. They grew up in China, but they're an American citizen. So they live and work for 15 years, continually reporting back to the Chinese Communist Party, for which they're loyal, and they can run for president. That makes no sense, okay? That makes literally no sense. There's no logic there. A nation can't survive if that's the actual policy to be implemented. So I don't think the founding fathers, nor the lawmakers at the time, post-Civil War, actually thought that would be the case.
But that's where we are today, unless something changes. Judges in Washington State, Maryland, and Massachusetts found that Trump's executive order is likely unconstitutional, blocking its enforcement nationwide. Instead of challenging the merits of those rulings, whether limits on birthright citizenship are lawful, Trump asked SCOTUS to review whether judges could freeze his policies nationwide. Nationwide injunctions, sometimes called universal injunctions, are court orders that apply beyond the plaintiffs who filed a suit.
Once a rarity, nationwide injunctions have become increasingly commonplace, mirroring the swelling power of the executive branch, but more importantly, only against Donald Trump, who has around half of all universal injunctions.
Here we go. Trump framed injunctions against his policies as personal attacks. However.
In just the first few months of his second term, judges across the country have issued over two dozen injunctions against Trump's executive orders. At the Supreme Court, the Trump administration argued that universal injunctions exceed the judiciary's Article 3 power and forced judges to make rushed, high-stakes, low-information decisions.
U.S. Solicitor General John Sauer said relief should be tailored to individual plaintiffs, requiring anyone affected by a policy to file a lawsuit to receive relief. Most of the justices appeared open to judges authority to offer nationwide relief during oral arguments, but they struggled to find a path to do so in the context of Trump's birthright citizenship order. It's amazing.
Birthright citizenship is enshrined in the Constitution, a federal statute, and 127 years of Supreme Court precedent. The vast majority of scholars considered the issue settled in 1898 in the case U.S. v. Wong Kim Ark. Trump's alternative theory stems from his former lawyer, John Eastman, who started pushing his alternative argument after 9-11. Eastman, who clerked for Clarence Thomas, provided Trump with legal arguments used to challenge the 2020 election.
Trump argues the Ford Amendment guaranteed citizenship to the children of former slaves, not illegal aliens or temporary visitors. Indeed, it actually excluded Native Americans. No, it ain't something. They said May 15th, the high court held a special oral argument session to review the
nationwide pauses preventing Trump from enforcing his birthright citizenship executive order. In essence, the justices' argument centered on who should benefit from the lower court's rulings. New Jersey and 17 other states and D.C. and San Francisco challenged Trump's executive order in Massachusetts.
And pregnant mothers and immigrant rights groups filed separate challenges in Maryland and Massachusetts, limiting the injunctions to the plaintiffs. Jersey argued would create serious problems with birth certificates and benefits programs. New Jersey said that if children moved to the Garden State from other states not covered by the injunction, they would lack Social Security numbers or other necessary documents to seek benefits. And they shouldn't get American benefits. Advocacy groups like CASA.
Thank you.
Casa and ASAP said identifying their members in court documents could put them at risk for retaliation. This is a massive, massive victory for Donald Trump. This is tremendous. SCOTUS blog reports on X in Trump v. Casa. A case about the universal injunctions putting the president's order on birthright citizenship on hold nationwide.
The Supreme Court grants the government's application to partially stay the injunctions from district courts, a masterfully played move by the Trump legal team. Ladies and gentlemen, this is amazing. OK, let's you. You don't even understand. OK, I'm just going to Trump knew his team knew if this goes to the discotus.
On the issue of birthright citizenship, they may actually lose. SCOTUS could end up saying, listen, this is settled law, okay? If you're born here, you're a citizen. So the Trump admin said, let's actually challenge the injunctions themselves as the issue only next to birthright citizenship. And Supreme Court actually said,
They kind of had no choice. It is it is the Constitution's intent that judges the reason why we have a lower court appellate courts and a Supreme Court is that there is a degree of authority over what each court represents. The Supreme Court would prefer that lower courts get it right and handle the matter among the people in the lawsuit.
Not that they just say the entirety of the country has to do these things because that would technically usurp Supreme Court authority. It would violate the Constitution and violate the executive branch and legislative branch, basically saying district courts have more power than all other branches combined, which is nuts.
So they said, you can't do these injunctions. SCOTUS did not rule on the question of birthright citizenship, which is what the Trump administration was hoping for. They simply said these injunctions can't apply. So it's back to the drawing board for those who want to argue if you're born here, you're a citizen. The Trump team played this masterfully. The six to three majority opinion is from Barrett. Sotomayor filed a dissenting opinion, joined by Kagan and Jackson.
Jackson filed a dissenting opinion. The court has made it clear that it is not deciding whether the executive order is constitutional and instructed the district courts to move expeditiously to ensure that with respect to each plaintiff, the injunctions comport with this rule and otherwise comply with principles of equity. That is the people who sued. If they win, it only applies to them. So there's a small spattering of individuals and
And it only will apply to them. Now, this is going to be wild because it means until then, Trump can actually say you are not a citizen if you were simply born here to foreign parents. This means that.
If you are not subject to the jurisdiction of thereof, the jurisdiction of the United States, you do not get citizenship. This is historic. Ladies and gentlemen, this is massive. I'm going to wrap it up there. Breaking news. I'm going to put this one up right away. Smash the like button. Share the show. We got more coming up for you today, and we'll see you all in the next segment.
The new show Ironheart dropped on Disney Plus and, you know, the review bombing just proves that some comic book fans still can't handle women of color in the spotlight. Or the show is just kind of not that good, to be completely honest. I'm gonna give you my honest assessment.
I'm kind of it's kind of man, you know, it's not overtly woke. We've only got the first three episodes so far. It's not like they come in and they say, as a woman of color, I have been held down by the man or white man or anything like that. It literally just has like a drag queen, gay hacker in it.
you know, like a black drag queen character, but they don't make it a point of the story. They don't say like, I'm non-binary and therefore the white man or anything like that. So none of those overt ideological elements, but the show is extremely poorly written. Now, listen,
I'm a superhero fan. I like these shows. I, you know, I like pretty much I'll watch Arrow. I'll watch The Flash on CW because they're fun. They're fun. Even when they're poorly written, poorly made and hokey. And let me just say, Ironheart, I give D plus C minus. So let me put it this way.
In terms of a superhero show, I don't mind watching it. I'm actually interested to see if they introduce Mephisto. I don't know exactly how they're going to play it, but basically the story is, spoiler alert, I guess, maybe, I don't know. Riri Williams has a suit she made at MIT.
And she joins a criminal gang because she's a bad person. And the bad guy uses magic and he can curve bullets and turn invisible. And so she double-crossed him because she's a bad person. And, you know, I'm going to get into a little bit of spoils in a little bit. But here's where we are right now. We've got this article.
From TV Fandom Lounge. And they say that... Fair points... In that people hadn't watched it yet. However...
The trailers were already out. People had already seen clips from the show. So, yes, they had released this. There was there was one clip that they actually edited that went viral a while ago because they filmed this show a long time ago. And people were like, it is woke. It is. It's got leftist garbage in it. The character is not a hero. It's just bad in terms of the core of the show.
Now, let me just say, writing wise, it is miserably awful. And I'm going to get into spoilers, but I'm just giving you guys a warning, OK? Because when I start spoiling the show, you're going to shake your head. And that's where it gets pretty bad. And there's a lot to talk about. But they're basically saying that it's getting review bombed. Now, look at this. Over at Google, you can see it's got a 2.9 out of 5 and a lot of one star reviews, right?
But when you look at it, it's not overt review bombing. The reviews are actually saying the show is bad. OK, there's a huge long someone basically wrote an article saying here's why it's bad. We have another bad rating where they basically say it's a mean spirited, confused. People don't like the show. All right. Now, let's start here.
They're trying to claim it's a review bomb because they can't accept the premise of the show is bad. The core of the show is bad. It's just all around one of the weakest things they've produced. I'm going to give them an A plus in one category, Chicago, because they did a pretty good job as it being Chicago. Like they got thin crust tavern style pizza, correct. And for that, A plus, Marvel. The show is watchable. It is watchable.
But it's like, oh man, it's worse than the CW superhero shows. All right, spoiler, spoiler time. Riri Williams is not a hero. She's a really bad person. She gets into MIT as a prodigy and then immediately starts selling inventions that MIT is funding and allowing her to make. She sells these tech tools on the black market to random people for nefarious reasons. Not all the people she's selling to are like criminals or whatever, but she's basically just black market selling off unlicensed tech from MIT.
She gets expelled for doing so and steals a armor that she was building at MIT. She steals it and flies away in basically what's an Iron Man suit, and the school deactivates it, causing her to crash. Now her suit's badly damaged. She hacks it to create an AI so she can pilot again because she stole it from MIT. She needs money, so she joins a criminal gang that kills people because she's a bad person. Now here's the best part. Spoiler alert.
How do the criminals make their money? Oh, man. OK, so I like the bad guy is the hood. And I'm OK with this character. He's basically selling his soul for magic, which like basically a warlock in D&D sense. And it's it's killing him. But he doesn't want to be a nobody. And he wears this hood that is like cursed or something. We don't know just yet. So she joins up with them.
They kill people and she's like, oh, man, this is bad. But they give her hundreds of thousands of dollars. She's making it rain and she loves it. But then she finds out that if when you're done with the gang, if they kick you out, they kill you. So she decides to double cross them anyway. But let me let me get to that. How does the gang make money? OK, they just make rich people sign contracts to give them money. I'm not even kidding.
They have this circuitous plan where they're like, this woman has built a network of tunnels under Chicago for faster commuting. Your cars can go on these magnetic rails and they can zoom you across the city much faster. And so they're like, here's the plan. Fight your way in. Take out the security hacker. Shut down the grid. Then I'll turn invisible, get in the car and make her sign a contract with me.
This thing was written by 10 year olds is written by 14 year olds who's never, who've never ended a contract. Now don't get me wrong. I get it. The show is for children, but they're usually targeting like teenagers at the very least. So the bad guy goes, he hands her a trifold paper and he goes, sign this. And she's like, she looks at him and then he smashes her phone. And then she's like, and then she signs it. And he's like, this contract guarantees that we'll get six figure salaries. And it's like, are you kidding me? She'd be like, first of all,
Me signing that, I don't know where the account is getting paid. I don't know what the name of the company on the invoice is going to be. I have no way of telling anybody to pay out these contracts. It was the stupidest thing I've ever seen in a superhero show. Then you get...
I do like that Obadiah Stane's got the bad guy. Jeff Bridges' character, his kid is in it. That's cool. So they tried doing it again, and they're basically just cornering rich people and being like, sign a contract, which makes no sense. Maybe they'll reveal something. You know, I was thinking, I was like, I know they can save themselves from this. What they needed to do was have someone ask, basically be like,
If they're going the Mephisto route, they could have had someone say, wait a minute, you're just getting rich people to sign contracts. Yeah. What if they just don't pay? What are you going to do? Like they know who you are now. And that would have been funny. And then the bad guy could have said, you let me worry about that. I know what we're doing.
And then what they reveal is they're actually contracts with Mephisto. So these, the rich people are, it's basically the plan that may be the case that may be the case. And so like the story ends when this one rich dude is like, I ain't signing that. And then he fights and gets killed. And I'm like, why do they need to break into these high tech facilities, disabling all the security guards just to walk up to a guy and be like, sign a contract. Like,
They've got all these viruses and they're threatening the companies and the livelihood. It's like, dude, you can literally just blackmail their family. I don't understand what's all this nonsense. But anyway, she betrays them because she's worried they're going to betray her. And then she basically kills a guy. And that's where the show ends. What I will say, I would give it a, on a scale, if we're doing five stars, I say a two, three, maybe. Maybe 2.5. That's fair. Like, eh.
I'm watching it only because I have to. Like, there are some shows that I was like, oh, like when Daredevil came out, I was like, I want to watch Daredevil. And I put it on.
And I was like, oh, man, I want the next episode. With Ironheart, I really didn't want to watch it at all. I think the IP is bad. I think the story is forced. I think the trailers were not very good. I like the Chicago stuff. I'm from Chicago. I'm biased. But I watched it because the story's coming out about the review bomb. So I did watch it. And I'm like, OK, I'll finish watching it. It's watchable. But it is probably one of the worst shows. To be fair, I never watched Ironheart.
Secret Invasion, I think it was. I never watched it. And I don't really care to watch it or whatever. I don't know. But it's probably watchable as well because I'll watch all superhero stuff. So the story is poorly written. The character motivation is poorly developed. There's too much deus ex machina. The core IP is not very good.
I'd give it a generic saltine cracker review for a superhero show. May as well have been on the CW alongside The Flash where actors are poorly cast and the plot is weak. You know, like she steals the. OK, hold on. She's selling technology on the black market, getting expelled from MIT.
But she installed MIT school software on the machine without any overrides or backups, stealing what is likely a multimillion dollar piece of equipment with like fabricated metals. It breaks down and then she like creates a crappy reverse, like she repairs it in crappy ways. And I'm just like, hold on. Yo, it takes her less than a day. Like it takes her four hours to use to brain scan an A.I.,
so that she can pilot this thing. But she didn't do that before as a backup so that she could steal it. It's just stupid writing. Stupid. But in terms of the MCU, it's been garbage for a while. This show apparently was made a long time ago. They didn't know if they were going to release it or how they were going to release it. So they're finally putting it out. And it's watchable, you know, whatever.
I find myself actually watching it and not being distracted all that much, though there are a few points where I skip the weird family stuff. I don't care. But just understand, I would not give this show a great review. I would give Daredevil Born Again like a 3.5 out of 5 or maybe like a 6 out of 10. It's like, yeah, OK, I guess. This one I give on the back end a little lower. So I think the reviews are legit. I think people actually don't like the show.
Uh, there's one really great thing I'll point out. Uh, so she's got the suit of armor and then she gets asked, like, you got a, you got an arc reactor in there. And she's like, they ain't exactly handing those things out. My suit's solar and wind powered. Huh?
Obadiah Obadiah Stane, his kid is in the show, Ezekiel Stane, and he's helping her. And the whole premise of Iron Man one was that the invention of the miniaturized arc reactors were powered the suits and Stane had to steal it from Tony because they didn't know how he did it and they couldn't replicate it. And he tried to kill Tony and steal the arc reactor.
But now she can just make these suits with solar power. Okay. Yeah, it's poorly written. It's a disgrace to the, like, it spits in the face of the MCU. And that's why it's trash IP. It's just not good. But as a standalone superhero show, it's whatever. If you like superhero shows, you're going to say, okay. Actually, I'm very interested to see if they introduce Mephisto. And I want to know where the story goes with Hood. And it's really weak, to be honest.
It's like really weak motivations. But hey, if they're targeting 10-year-olds, what am I even talking about? I'm going to leave it there. It's Friday. You get what you get. We had breaking news today. Smash the like button. Share the show. Thanks for hanging out. And we'll see you all. We'll see you all tonight at TimCast.irl.
