I am unashamed. What about you? Welcome back to Unashamed. As you can imagine, it's the day for Jason. I don't exactly know when you're going to be hearing this, but it's the day after the College World Series has ended. And Jason and I are very happy today.

Maddie, not so happy. She's an Arkansas fan. She's been doing a little bit of hating on us, but she's going to get there. Sometimes it takes a while to get over stuff. She'll be okay. I'll pray for Maddie. Jace, Jace, it looks like you're fully dressed. My God, what is going on? Jace is in a full costume. If you're not watching, Jace is in full-blown mode, Zach. Full purple and gold bloom. Well,

I am, but there's a story behind this. Of course. Actually, there's quite a few stories. Zach, are you surprised there's a story behind this? No, I'm not surprised at all. Look, before y'all go, oh, Jace looks like a clown, I flew in here. I think you look smashing, Jace, just for the record. I flew in here just a couple hours ago. I got up this morning at 2.55 to make it to the airport.

But you know what? I've been giddy all day. And I'm going to tell you the truth. My wife has made me laugh today in one day in almost 35 years of marriage more than any other day. So we're giddy. She just keeps saying funny stuff. Did she come back with you? Oh, yeah. She came back with me.

I mean, the laughter started when I got up. I got up in such a good mood, which, look, I get up in a good mood because Jesus has raised from the dead. So, but I mean, if you just put a little extra topping on that, I went to Omaha in search of the eighth national championship for LSU, but I only had two days to be there for the championship game. So it's best two out of three. Yeah. Yeah.

And wouldn't you know it, LSU won the national championship, and I got to see both games. And so I just woke up, even though it was 2.55, and we didn't get back to the hotel last night. The game was at 1? I think it was at 1.30. And I think we got back at 9? Yeah.

So do the math. Old Jace hadn't had much sleep, but I was giddy. But what was so funny to me is I woke up just mid-conversation, just ready to go. But I noticed Missy wasn't saying anything to me. She was up, but like just kind of, you know, it's 2.55 in the morning. And I said, how are you feeling, babe? And she said, give me a second.

I laughed. It was more like five minutes, and then she was just engaged, but it was like, yes. But it was the way you asked it, because you asked it like, are you as fired up as I am? Yeah, I said, how you doing, babe? She's like, give me a second. I don't know why that made me laugh so hard. That was like the funniest thing I've ever heard at 2.55 in the morning.

But so I came rolling in and got a few few stories for you. So but when I got here today, Duck Commander, it's actually a work day. I did have to ask somebody what day it was. And they said it's Monday, which I should have known that. But because Martin was out in the parking lot when I got out of the truck, which Martin is a huge LSU fan.

And he texted me a lot during the game. Well, he saw how I was dressed, and he just like, you know, he came like a big puppy because Martin's a huge man. And he's like, what's up with that jersey? I said, I brought that back from Omaha. And he's like, you got one of the game jerseys? And I said...

not quite. I said, but this Jersey came off one of the players, his mom, it came off her back to me and she had an undershirt on. So don't, don't go down that road. Yeah. I was supposed to say, do you need to repent to start off? So you're like, well, how does this happen? And, uh, so the first game we went to, and I'll give you the details, but, uh,

We were sitting right behind home plate, and that story is a story in and of itself. But Missy went to the bathroom during the game, and when she came back, she was kind of giddy. She's like, you're never going to guess who I just met. I was like, ooh. I mean, because I was thinking, there are people everywhere. We were having a lot of fan interactions because we were just out in the crowd.

And so I was like, well, who would be out here in just all this LSUville, you know? She's like, I met Ethan Fry's mom, which I'm wearing. Matty, how did we get a shot of this? Yeah, we can see it. You turned around. I turned around. And he signed it, you know, after the game, of course, because he was actually playing while that was going on.

But which led to that. And and so which was exciting. They've followed us. And she said, you know, Ethan has watched our shows and different things. And he's kind of an outdoorsman. So I was like, I knew I liked him for a reason. You know, because she she said I was more just because I watch LSU baseball.

you know, season from the moment it starts till it ends every year. So I kind of knew his story. He's been there three years. He got injured last year, but just this year it all came together. So I root for guys like that because I thought, look at all the adversity he's gone through, you know. So I've been a big fan. So that was cool. So, yeah, later on she's like, well, I got a jersey for you signed.

you know, by my son. And we were like, what? So the next game, you know, we met her somewhere and she has this jersey. Then she told the story. She was like, I actually wore this jersey yesterday. He just wanted y'all to have something, you know. So I just thought that was so nice. I mean, it was cool. But what I was going to say, I knew this was going to be a good trip because at the last minute, you know, we decided to go when –

I think they beat UCLA in the, which they beat Arkansas. Sorry, Maddie. I was going to get you a shirt. This could be worse. I was going to buy you a shirt, but I just didn't want to do it. But the shirt said, Go Home-a-Hogs. So you got to think about that. You got to Omaha, Go Home-a-Hogs. But I just didn't. I just didn't do it. You should have done it.

That would have been a kind gesture. No, I love Arkansas. If you had brought one, I would have worn it. You knew it was going to be a good trip. What was the thing that tipped you? It was, I'll say to the audience, because we were planning all this last week and we were talking about doing a podcast because our podcast schedule is pretty tight.

And to do something what Jays has pulled off is very difficult to do. It is. That's why. I mean, we had to like, but I'm like. We moved heaven and earth to make this possible. We did, because I told Jays, I was like, anybody that wants to make the move to Omaha, especially with LSU, I'm all in. So Zach was outvoted on everything, two to one, if he had a vote. Well, thank you. But look, Zach helped me out a lot because he has his little Hay Jack thing

app thing that he's promoting and so we did that and look everything was smooth they gave us the money back i mean missy mainly handled it you can ask her i think she's coming up on a podcast near you but uh but what happened was when we got to the hotel i mean it was it was one o'clock in the morning and missy's like look at that we walked into the room and there was just huge display of

with all kind of LSU gear. And one of the hats is the hat I have on, which that was probably in the top five of questions I got while I was at Omaha is, where did you get that hat? And the hat says Omaha Dynasty. Yeah, it says Omaha Dynasty. Well, I didn't realize because I thought, well, somebody's making this hat wherever they got all this stuff because it was kind of the technical team of the –

Hey, Jack. Hey, Jack. Yeah. I didn't know they did that, but they called me this morning. They said, hey, did Jace like our gifts? I was like, what? Oh. I said, what were the gifts? Oh, we got him a – because I saw your hat because you have home plate. I said, what is he – and I got the – I saw the Omaha Dynasty hat. I didn't know that heyjack.com –

did it. So they were so excited that y'all were using the platform. It's really, really nice. And we figured out, you know, between them and the hotel, they had this big display of stuff. And so the hat, we actually found the booth when we went to the game, you know, outside the stadium. They have all these booths

Yeah. Trade shows with Boots. So if y'all want to give them some love, I think it's great. They do all, I mean, find them. Look up, they're in Omaha. I know that. Patches. So it was real nice. But I remember how this story got started. So when I came in, you know, Martin was following me into Duck Manor today. And so he's like, why are you dressed like this? You know, so I told him the bit about the shirt and the jersey and

And so I said, I just want to make sure. I'm going to walk through the halls and make sure everybody knows that LSU won the national championship yesterday. And he's like, well, I don't think there's a whole lot of people here. I was like, what? It's Monday. Once he told me it was Monday, I was like, but it's actually their lunch break is when we're filming this. And so there were only three people here besides Martin.

The first person that I found was just walking through the hall, and I think she's a receptionist, and I said, hey, I just did like this. And she looked and she said, I don't watch football. You're like, not football. And kept walking. And I thought, what kind of place is Willie running around here? I don't watch football?

So the second person that I saw, and I said, hey, we're national champions. And she said, I'm so happy for you. I think she worked for Sadie. But she said it like that. So you got no affirmation until you said that was Al.

That's the only two people we could find. And Martin said, oh, wait. I know there's one other person I know is here, and they're an Arkansas fan. And so when he opened the door, I just jumped in and said, how about them Tigers? And she said, get out of here.

It wasn't Maddie, was it? No, it wasn't Maddie. But on the positive side, Maddie, you know there's a person down about four rooms that y'all can console each other. She said, I don't even know what that means, and I'm kind of glad. So...

So we're giddy. I want to tell you the story. And I know if you don't follow LSU baseball, you know, I'm so sorry. But the reason I'm so excited about this is, look, when I was a teenager, this is when I started following LSU baseball. There was a guy called Skip Burtman who pretty much revolutionized college baseball.

But he was the catalyst to making LSU great. And so we got caught up in that fever. Al, we used to visit my dad's sister, Judy, who lived in South Louisiana, and she took us to LSU baseball games. I mean, I'm going back to when. That's how we fell in love with LSU was because of her. Yeah. And you got to remember, the reason I'm saying this affectionately is like, what's this got to do with anything spiritual? Because it's hard to live a disciple of Jesus' life when you're a teenager.

And because all my friends were just acting like a bunch of, you know, hooligans. And, you know, following LSU and going to college baseball games was just good, clean fun for me, which was what I was trying to find, things that are, you know, good, clean fun. And so that's how far, you know, the history goes back. But I want to tell you this story because I'm going to tell you this and you're just not going to believe it. You're going to say there's no way this happened. Zach brought up that he saw me.

behind home plate. Well, here's how that happened. I have a guy in Omaha that I became good friends with that the crazy part of their story is, is in 2013, LSU made it to the College World Series. And at the last minute, I wanted to go. But I didn't. It was pretty much sold out. I couldn't get in. Didn't know how to get in. But back then, I was...

doing social media. And so I noticed that one of the announcers, Kyle Peterson, followed me. He's one of the announcers in the College World Series. So I just sent a private message because if someone follows you, it's called X now, if you don't know. And if you private message someone, they have to follow you before you can do that. And I'm like, hey, man, I noticed you follow me. You got any...

Way you can hook a guy up with some tickets. I'm wanting to come, you know. And look, what was surprising, because it wasn't like he was from Louisiana. I think he went to Stanford. Yeah, he went to Stanford. He played against LSU, actually, back in the late 80s, I think, or early 90s. Yeah, he just puts a name and a number, and he said, call this guy. He'll take care of you. And that guy has become one of my greatest friends. I bet he has. Yeah.

You guys are super close. His name is Steve-O, and Steve-O is awesome. You love Steve-O. I love Steve-O. Look, his mantra in life... He's become one of my closest friends. ...is like, look, let's all just get along and have fun, and I can make it happen. And that dude...

I mean, look, when I brought him a goodie bag this year, it completely filled 80% of my bag was the goodie bag for Steve-O. Steve-O got hooked up. Because he makes things happen. But Steve-O had a wedding on Saturday that he had to go to, and so we met up, and he's like, I'm going to give you the tickets. And I was like, if you're doing this digitally, here's one of my sons. Because my two sons met Missy and I up there, which was awesome.

So we get the tickets. You got them? Yeah. So we're thinking everything's great. Well, an hour before the game, we're outside the stadium, and we had just walked out of this little restaurant, and I took a picture.

And look, this is my second post that I've done in five years, five or six years, because I haven't been doing social media. I mean, my wife and other people do it for me. But I announced, you know, when my dad died, I literally typed that in and put it out there.

And so this was my second one. I just thought, I'm going to let everybody know we're here. You know, I was thinking LSU fans, let's let them know we're here. So I took a selfie with me and Missy and I posted it and we walked out. We're fixed to go into the stadium.

And so what happened was a guy that I had met at an LSU football game that I didn't remember off the top of my head sent me a text and said, hey, I just saw your post. Do you need some tickets? And I was like, well, what kind of guy do you think I am? It's an hour before game time. Wouldn't you think I have tickets? And I was like, hey, this guy that I met at football is like, do you need some tickets? So my son goes to pull up our tickets.

And they're not there. And Ostevo's at a wedding. And it then hit us that we have no tickets. Oh, wow. Because the transfer, even though it said transfer complete, they just didn't show up, which I found out later that happens every once in a while in the way you're getting these tickets. And so I'm like, hang on just a second. I got an idea. And I could tell Missy was getting panicky because she always loves a plan. And I was like, I just had a guy text me saying,

saying if I need some tickets. And she's like, are you serious? So I said, hey, buddy, what about these tickets? And he said, yeah, if you're open to wearing a Raising Cane's hat, I got some tickets right behind home plate.

So I read the text out loud, and Missy's like, babe, do not answer that. I was like, this guy's in my phone for a reason. I know him. I met him. And then I thought about it. I thought of all the strange requests I've ever had in my life, which I've usually said no to when someone will say, if you wear and fill in the blank, my answer is usually immediately no. But I thought,

And I like raising canes. I mean, look, if you're going to do the chicken route, I don't know of a better place to get chicken fingers. It's a Louisiana country. Well, that's what I was just saying. I've met Todd Grace, who's the owner, because there were his seats. He had to go somewhere. Yeah. And I thought, you know what? I just kind of ignored Missy because Missy was like, this is crazy. This is crazy. Yeah.

And I was like, yeah, buddy, where are we going to meet and bring me the Raising Cane's hat? And he was like, everything was done digitally, you know, because he was like, well, let me introduce you to somebody. Well, I'm looking around, you know. And well, the next thing you know, it's a group text, you know, and it's.

Some guy named Jeremy, you know, and he's like. Who's your new best friend. Yeah. He's like, are you ready for the tickets? And I'm like. Steve-O's out. Jeremy's in. Jeremy has now replaced Steve-O. So all of a sudden, my two sons get on this because it's complicated the way they're doing these tickets. You could have never done this. Well, you got to go to Ticketmaster. You got to have an account. I don't have all that. My son is, they're over there just tick, tick, tick, tick.

Somebody sent a message to Steve telling him we don't need those tickets. He can sell them. We never got them, you know, because I was thinking he's got 40 minutes to sell them. But so I said, oh, we're raising cane right behind home plate tonight, you know, which was my line.

So we go in there, sit down, and I mean, I'm right behind home plate, which I didn't figure out the reason they wanted me to wear the hat is because that shot is in every shot when the batter is trying to hit the pitch. You're there. Your big moment was right there the whole time. Here's the part I feel bad about because we're not watching TV, obviously.

The part I feel bad about is the little banner that ESPN puts up that tells you the score. It was cutting my head off the entire game and my Raising Cane's hat.

So it's a beautiful shot of my wife and two sons going, go Tigers, you know. So, you know, sorry about that, Todd. I mean, my heart was in the right place, but somebody should have gone over there and said, hey, you know, give this hat to your son. Yeah. Wow. So that's how we got in the game. That is literally how we got in the game, and it worked out. And finally, Steve-O, about two hours later, is like,

Oh, no. Because he's been at a wedding. He's just now texting his phone. Like, it just happened. I was like, oh, no, buddy, we're good. It was awesome. I mean, because that was a great place to watch. Well, how did you get into Sunday's game? That was Saturday's game, right? Well, Steve-O, when I said the man makes things happen,

So he's like, well, it's a 130 game on Sunday. It was 104 degrees. And look, by the way, I didn't tell you this. It was 100 degrees on the Saturday game, but it wasn't like 100 like you're thinking because in Louisiana it can be 90 and it's hotter than it was there at 100. So it wasn't terrible, but we were in the shade behind home plate the whole time because it was 6 o'clock. But the next day he's like, well, I got us a sweet –

up here on the third base side, it has air conditioning just in case you get hot. I mean, we were outside watching the game. But, you know, if it got hot, you could walk in. I was like, Steve-O, what do I need to do for you? Steve-O's back in, Zach. Back in. Oh, Steve-O. What have you done for me lately? Well, I'm glad you got hooked up, and I'm glad that the Hayjack thing worked out for you.

And it was awesome because the number one thing that people came up and said was about our dad, Phil. And just, I mean, look, we literally had people walk up with tears in their eyes. And there were a lot of Jesus conversations in between. There was just a couple moments during all that. The one time I went up to the bathroom and came back, there was a girl I had taken picture with.

a few years ago who had cerebral palsy and her dad, which now look, I didn't recognize him. But when he said, you took a picture with my daughter and you know, I just stopped because the conversations were so meaningful. It was unlike any other experience. Cause it wasn't like, Hey, Doug, does she take a picture? It was just, it was, uh, it was just downright spiritual.

But he said, and she's here today. He said his daughter was here today. And when I saw her, we met. She lit up, even though, you know, she can't communicate very well. And I'm like, are you kidding me? I remembered her. And so the whole crowd moved out so I could sit beside her during the game. And we took a picture together. And it moved me to tears. It was just because of her excitement, you know. And so it was a wonderful experience.

Just with that, being with the people. And a lot of people kept saying, are these people bothering you? I'm like, these are our people. They're from Louisiana and they've supported us. And they couldn't have been nicer about my dad. And we couldn't have had more spiritual conversations. Yeah, I'm glad you said that about Coastal Carolina because –

I love their program. I mean, they're not, you know, other than in baseball, you don't know that much about them. But because of that, they've become pretty well known. And, you know, obviously we're big Tiger fans, but I would be pulling for them most years when they were there, including the last time they

Yeah, and I met a lot of their fans. I know there's a lot of people in the Carolinas that love us, so we just want to say you guys had an awesome season. They did, and they had good attitude. We had a lot of funny jokes about the coach getting thrown out of the game. I mean, not that it was funny to them, but it was like at some point –

We just have to laugh about this and move on. Because it really engaged the crowd when all that happened. That was crazy, yeah. And so, you know, it is what it is. At the end of the day, it was a baseball game. But, you know, the young men involved...

You know, I've had a special place for this year's team because I know a lot of them do Bible studies during the season, you know, because I follow them real closely. And I got to meet Connor Bench before the game because, once again, he saw the social media post and we kind of arranged a meeting for the game started. And I'm sharing this story because Unashamed Nation is a part of that because you know what he wanted to talk about?

this podcast he was real appreciative of the bible study and uh that a lot of good things and we had a very spiritual conversation and he told me you know a lot of the players on the team are uh you know followers of jesus jace i didn't get to watch the first game because lisa and i had an event uh down here in alabama about two hours from where our gulf shores place is and so

I didn't watch the game, so I missed all the Raising Cane's drama from that. But I have had a lot of people ask me, and several did at the event as well, what I thought about kind of what's been going on in the world. And we haven't really talked too much about it on the podcast because there's been a lot of kind of ongoing developments just in terms of Israel, Iraq.

Iran, anytime you get into Middle East conflicts and when we kind of get drawn into it as well, which is always going to happen in the U.S., you know, people start asking a lot of questions about it. So I was interested to get y'all's take about it because quite a bit has happened. I think people are like, is this...

Is this it? Is this pointing to something bigger? So I've been getting a lot of texts from people from Unashamed Nation and emails just like, you know, what do you guys think about all this? So I was going to see y'all's take on kind of the latest. In fact, today, I haven't seen it, Jace, but you said right before we came on air, there was some bombings that happened like in the last hour. Is that not right? Yeah, they were reporting that Iran had responded to

to America when America went in with this, I think they called it a midnight hammer. And we were at the first game when that happened. And there was a little buzz around because, you know, I guess people were on their phones during the game taking pictures and all that. And Missy's like, I hope World War III hadn't started, you know, because it's hard in the moment to get –

The details. And like I haven't had any time to watch any news whatsoever in the last three days. But and I was like, really? Of course, we were at the LSU game. And so, I mean, they're playing for a national championship. And I'm like, well, whatever.

I hope it went well. I'm sure I'll hear about it. You know, I wasn't sure what had happened, but that was, that was the night when they had the midnight hammer. And, uh, tell us a little bit about it, Zach, cause you probably know more than Jason. I did. Cause we were both kind of swamped this weekend, but so, so what, what, what has happened that you know about? I actually tried to stay off the news, but, but when that happened, I kind of got sucked into the vortex again. Cause me and Jill went on a,

A little honeymoon trip, anniversary trip. But, yeah, so it's been a big debate right now. So we bombed, joined in with Israel. Everybody knows, if you keep up with the news, bombed their, I think, three of their nuclear sites. Yeah. It's been reported that those sites have been obliterated and destroyed their nuclear program. I did watch a really fascinating interview. It was a two-hour podcast with Ted Cruz, Senator Ted Cruz, and...

Tucker Carlson. So there's kind of a fierce debate inside kind of even the conservative

punditry world about everything. So, you know, there's, it's, I mean, as far as like the foreign policy part of it, I think that's like, for me, that's like one discussion. For the most of the questions that I think we're more well equipped to answer is the question of, is this the end times? Is this, you know, what the book of Revelation was about? Is this, you know, is all this like what was prophesied? Because that is a big thing that's happening right now.

And a lot of people are wondering. And so I think we all probably have views on that. I mean, my initial reaction when people have asked me that, Al, has been that everyone in the history of the world who has predicted that the end times was upon us has been wrong up until this point. So no one's ever been able to fully predict it.

Well, and it's almost like there's some length, quite a bit of language in the epistles, especially, mostly from Paul, that let us know we never will quite know. I mean, the whole idea of thief in the night and

You know, unknown means unknown. So you're not able to pin this stuff down, which tells you a lot right off the bat. Well, when you get into a theological question about it, though, I mean, I go to all the verses about, you know, the kingdom, that this whole idea of what we believe. And I mean, you know, me, you and Zach is that the kingdom came to earth when Jesus, the king came.

died, was buried, and resurrected, and ascended to the right hand of God and poured out His Spirit, made it available for human beings. And those who surrender to the King become members of the kingdom. Now, having said that, I think the kingdom of God is bigger than just that. I mean, you have the celestial world and how God works just in the world as a whole. He even uses...

you know, people that don't believe in him in certain ways. But I do think that we're a part of that. And, you know, what's crazy about this is I did a little study on Revelation, I'd say a couple weeks ago, and I did it because of our study in John. Yeah. And we're in John chapter 10, and you're like, wait a minute, that's the part where he says, you know, I'm the gate, I'm the shepherd for the sheep.

But there's a lot of that theme in the book of Revelation. Yeah. And so I want to give that in a podcast near you because, you know, I jotted it down. I really wasn't thinking, oh, we're fixed to be in some combat. I mean, the Israel-Iran skirmish, I'm sure it's worse than a skirmish. I'm not sure how to describe that.

you know, had started. And a lot of people, because they see me, they realize, you know, we do a podcast about the Bible study, and they were asking me the same questions that Zach was getting, which it's hard to give a one-sentence response to that. You know, I'm like, well...

I don't think Israel being involved and then God setting up a temple, what people say at the end of the times, I just don't think that's a...

How would you describe that? I would say it doesn't make sense. Yeah, I was going to be a little more friendly than it doesn't make sense. No, I mean, I'm trying to think of how to say this in a new way. I think it doesn't fit. I think when you, you know, we just did a pretty extensive dive into

into the picture from Daniel. We got into the Son of Man study recently. A very extensive look at kingdoms that are known kingdoms. And it is interesting. I will say this. It's interesting that when you talk about Iran, you're talking about descendants of Persia, which was one of those former kingdoms. And of course, Israel being one of those as well that's kind of come along through time. But when you look at that and you see the Greeks and you see the Romans...

And then you see everything that's happened since it becomes very difficult to try to put those pieces together. As some people do in modern times, when you realize there was such a, a pushing towards the time of Jesus coming and something amazing happening with him as a King. I mean, we've been consistent in the way we've laid that out from an old Testament perspective, from a gospel perspective and from a new Testament epistle perspective. So, um,

to now come in and try to rebuild those same nations into something that somehow fits those texts, when we see it aiming towards something much more simple. You know, I was told when I studied, go for the most simple explanation of everything first, and then see where you go from there. And that's kind of how I feel about it in terms of, you know, from a biblical look at this, you know, kind of current event. Yeah, and the interview was,

I thought what Tucker Carlson and Senator Cruz was telling on at least one aspect of it. I think you have to separate this out. Like Cruz's argument when he was making the case for should we invade Iran was twofold. One was – well, the second thing he mentioned was that they have the potential for –

the capacity to develop nuclear weapons very quickly, and they have already said death to America. And so there was kind of this whole thing of they're a threat to America. That's a fair argument. The first argument that he made that he said was his primary reason was because he referenced Genesis 12, although he didn't know where it was at in the Bible. But he said, you know, I learned in Sunday school that I'm a Christian and that we should

those who support Israel will be blessed and those who curse Israel will be cursed. And it was a reference to Genesis 12 at the beginning. If you've got to keep in mind, we've talked about this, by the way, in this podcast. Genesis 11, Tower of Babel, nations were created for the very first time because of their attempt to build a tower to God. And then Genesis 12 is the conversation that God has with Abram. So the context of that verse he mentioned is,

It's God pulling a portion out for himself. And what Senator Cruz was alluding to was what's called dispensational eschatology, which I don't think that's a good term.

basis for foreign policy. I think it actually is very dangerous. So I didn't like that side of what he said at all. And Tucker was pushing back on him saying, where does it say that? What does that mean? Who is Israel? And I think the more controversial thing, although it shouldn't be that controversial, is if you look at what the Apostle Paul said in the book of Romans, which is this argument, the whole book of Romans is really an argument for the Gentiles being included in

into the people of God. Because the question is, who are the real descendants of Abraham? Because there was a promise that was made in Genesis 12.

Right. He says that I'm going to bless Israel. And then he says, I'm going to give you throughout multiple times throughout Genesis. He says, I'm going to give you as many grandkids as there are stars in the sky. So when Abraham looks up, he says, count the stars. I can't count them all. That's how many grandkids you're going to have. So then the question is, well, who is it actually that is the offspring of?

of Abraham? That's the real question. And I think that's an important question to answer. And Paul answers that question in Romans 9 when he says that, he says in Romans 9 that to Israel, he says the Israelites, to them belong the adoption, the glory,

The covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, the promises, to them belong the patriarchs. And from their race, from their DNA, according to the flesh, is the Christ, who is God over all, blessed forever. Amen. So in other words, when God became flesh, He became the flesh of Israel. But then he says in verse 6, It's not as though God's word has failed. For not all who are descended from Israel belong to Israel.

This is the Christian teaching, by the way. This is the Apostle Paul. Not all who are descended from Israel belong to Israel. Verse 7. And not all are children of Abraham because they are his offspring, but through Isaac shall your offspring be named. What does that mean? Well, he tells us, verse 8. This means that it is not the children...

of the flesh who are the children of God. In other words, it's not the DNA, it's not their ethnicity, but the children of the promise who are counted as offspring. So we are actually children of the promise. That's the whole point of Romans 9, 10, and 11, is that it's those who will come to Christ first.

through faith, that is the true children of Abraham. And so that could be Jewish people, that could be Gentile people, that could even be Iranian people. There's a massive revival going on in the Middle East right now. I'm glad you brought that up because I was going to say that. You know, our good friend Larry Bowles, we've had him on several times. His primary work in Athens is

were Muslim refugees coming through. And a lot of those folks that were converted leaving wars in the Middle East were

They took the gospel back into their countries, whether it was Syria or Iran or all these different countries. And so some of the main leaders in the church that was established by Bowles and a lot of other people, they're doing a huge work in Iran. And so there's a lot of our brothers and sisters that are there. I mean, they're under the regime as well. Obviously, it's a bad situation for them, but...

It's not like everybody in Iran. It's not like you can just have one monolithic brush and say, well, they're all infidels or they're all this or they're all whatever. That's what they do to us. And we're just like, no, there's a lot of brethren. There's a lot of kingdom believers. Yeah, but the foreign policy aspect of it, I mean, I think that you can make a case for –

bombing their sites. I mean, that's its own thing. I don't think you can make the case from the scriptures at all. I don't think the Bible, and I also think that ties into, are we in the end times now? Nobody knows. No one knows when the Lord's going to come back, which it's certainly like whatever that view of the, like you mentioned, Jace, the building of a third temple and all that. I mean, I don't see that in the Bible at all.

Well, I know this. We're all individually at the end of our time. When you look at time relevant to how much time there is and how long you get to have a part of that as a human being. That's right. Yeah. If you think about it that way, you get...

Even the book of Psalms says, what do you get? 72, three score and 10. Remember what my grandpa used to say, which three score and 10 was a...

I don't know what kind of language that is, but it's language. There's an old Civil War. I know because that's what Abraham Lincoln said. Yeah, three squared ten, which is 70. Moses said 70, 80. Yeah, 80 if you have the strength. 70 or 80 years on the planet. But here's what I want to say. I'm dying to get into this Revelation study because it's really, it kind of dawned on me how it applies because at the end of the day,

I mean, I'm concerned about this because let's say the reports are true and they're trying to build a nuclear weapon. Well, you know, that's a way to wipe everyone off the planet. Yeah, true. I don't think anybody of sober, sound mind is for that. And so if you get a regime that is bitter and, you know, a lot of their –

chance or you know from the the radical side of that agenda is death to america and they're building a nuclear weapon it might already get you your attention if you're leaders of a nation you know the nation they're saying death to america so i mean i think what what's embittered everyone

It's because it was kind of the same narrative when Iraq, and we went into Iraq with Saddam Hussein, and it was like they have weapons of mass destruction. And then I'm pretty sure that it's universally believed that there were no— Yeah, that was brought up. I mean, Tucker brought that up. I think that's a fair point. Yeah, but in this case, they're like, well, they're building a nuclear weapon, and Israel has always kind of been—

you know, our partners in this. And so, I mean, we don't want whole sections of people wiped off the face of the planet. But having said all that, what I was going to say is, I think it made me think of that verse in 2 Corinthians 10 where he talked, when Paul said, you know, by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, he was appealing to

to them in his letter. But he goes on to say that we don't live by the standards of the world. And then he's like, for though we live in the world, we do not wage a war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power.

to demolish strongholds, and we demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God and take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. And the reason I'm bringing that up is because, you know, where all of this stuff comes from, when Zach was referring to the end times, or most of it, comes from the book of Revelation. But

The revelation is Jesus's. The first verse, the word apocalypto in some form is the Greek word for revelation, but it's Jesus revealing something. And what he says in the book of Revelation, four different times that whatever he's writing is fixing to take place. I mean, first one says that. He's giving you a revelation which God gave him to show his servants that

What must soon take place. We can talk about that when we break it all down, but the verse I wanted to get to is verse 5 because

When he told John in verse 4, he said to the seven churches, which they all have a little letter from Jesus, and they're in red letters. But watch what verse 4 says. He says, grace and peace to you from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the sevenfold spirit before his throne, and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness or martyr. It's a Greek word for martyr.

witness, martyr, the firstborn from the dead. And here's the little phrase I wanted to get to. And the ruler of the kings of the earth. And I know that whatever happens in this world, Jesus is reigning. He is in control. And spirit-filled people, because the whole book of Revelation is about persecution and oppression and death.

that's going to come upon the saints who follow Jesus. Now, in this context, we all believe it was coming from the hands of Rome. That's why we went through the Daniel 2 and the Daniel 7, and it has the four kingdoms, and the last one was the Romans. And it just so happened that when John's having this vision, that's who was in control was the Romans. And if you just look in the history books,

They were killing Christians in violent ways. In between Nero and Domitian was this, the timing of this writing is what I believe. And so you had this persecution of the church happen under Nero, and then you had another one under Domitian. And look, they were killed in very gruesome ways. And so I believe that John had this vision that,

from Jesus revealing these things that no matter what happens on this earth, when it comes to war, oppression, even if they're attacking Christians, that you're going to win. I mean, I think that's what it's about because of verses that goes on to say, when Jesus said, do not be afraid. Well, why is he telling them not to be afraid? Because they're fixed to be persecuted.

And they were in history. It says, do not be afraid. Jesus said, I'm the first and the last. I'm the living one. I was dead and behold, I am alive forever and ever. I hold the keys of death and Hades, which is why we're going in there, just to put in context what I'm saying. And we were trying to prevent mass deaths of the planet. But on the other side of this, Jesus is reigning and he conquered death itself.

Which is what the book of Revelation is about. Even if you were persecuted and killed, you have God's Spirit. You're coming back from the dead. That's just the point I wanted to make. Yeah, and I think it matters because if you take the position, which is a very popularized position because of a couple different things. One, you had that Left Behind series that blew up back in the, what was it, the 80s, and then you've got

which kind of popularized the view that the end times prophecy, prophetic views, dispensationalism. You also had, and this has been well written about and discussed, Darby and the Schofield Bible, the reference Bible, where that kind of entered into the American psyche in the mid-19th century. But the reason why I think it matters, because if you have a

a robust dispensational view of the whole thing, then it's going to really kind of have a pessimistic view of the world, which is basically the world's going to hell in a handbasket.

buckle up, boys, grind it out, and just hang on for the second coming, which can lead to a form of Gnosticism, that this earth doesn't matter, the physical universe is a hell in a handbasket, so we're looking for the future. And that's partly true. It's not that it's fully wrong, it's just that it's not complete. Whereas a view that the kingdom is here now, and a lot of these things that we're reading about, the actual...

unfolding is, is no, the God's doing something today, right now. The kingdom is here. It's a progressive thing. It's an optimistic view of the future. And I think that it matters because when you read like a Romans 9, for example, you start to see this bigger picture unfold when he says that I'm going to, he references Hosea and Romans 9. He says, those who are not my people, he said, I'm going to call those people my people. And

And her who was not beloved, I will call beloved. That's us. That's the Gentiles. That's the rest of the world outside of Judaism. And in the very place where it was said to them, you are not my people, there they will be called sons of the living God. And as Isaiah cries out concerning Israel, though the number of the sons of Israel be as the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them will be saved, for the Lord will carry out his sentence upon the earth fully and without delay. And as Isaiah predicted, the Lord of hosts said,

who had not left, if the Lord of hosts had not left us offspring, we would have been like Sodom

and become like Gomorrah. And then he ends that with, what shall we say then? That the Gentiles who did not pursue righteousness have attained it? That is a righteousness by faith, but Israel who pursued a law that would lead to righteousness did not succeed in reaching that law. Why? It's because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were by works. And I think that's why it matters is because what he's unfolding here is a salvation offered to all the nations that the way you access the salvation is not through what you do.

It's through putting your faith in Jesus Christ. That's the good news of the Gospels. I think that has serious implications, you know, how we see this.
