I am unashamed. What about you?

Welcome back to Unashamed. We're super excited. We have one of our favorite guests from our brother podcast. One of our favorite? Is he the favorite? Yeah, I think he's the favorite. Okay, we've got our favorite guest on Unashamed because he is the rock star of the Duck Call Room. Let's face it, we love those other boys, but without Si...

It's a band without a singer. You know what I'm saying? Well, that's why I tell people all the time, y'all need to look at this crazy old man. I'm living proof that God, the Father and Son and the Holy Spirit are alive and well. Okay? And I really am. Great. We're two minutes in and I actually agree with that. Well, no, no. I'm serious. That's why I sized the rock star of the duck call room because there's no one there to keep him in check. That's right.

They're just yes men. They're like... Well, hey, look, everybody that I've ever been associated with has had problems. Okay, keeping me in check. Okay. That's why my military career was such a disaster.

That's why I got screamed at. That's why I never did make any rank. But you were in the military for 24 and a half years. Yeah, but I should have been 89. I didn't make it but to E7. It was my own fault. Just two numbers.

Yeah, but two numbers means a lot more money than this. I get it. I understand. But on a scale from one to ten, if it's a nine, I'm like, ooh. But if it's a seven, I'm like, oh, okay, that's pretty good. Well, yeah, but here's the bottom line. I never did see a job that I wanted from E8 to E9. Yeah. Because in that world, you've got to be political. And you all know how political I am. No, you couldn't play that game. Yeah, I couldn't play that game. Every time they'd ask me a question.

They wasn't ready for the answer because I hit them with the truth. Now we're talking. Okay. No, no. And they couldn't handle it. Okay. They couldn't handle the truth. Yeah. It was like what? Jack Nicholson. Yeah. You can't handle the truth. That was your line in the military. No, no, no. I just always told them. I said, hey, look, here's a warning for you. This is to his commanding officer. I had told them up front. Yeah.

I said, hey, look, if you don't want to hear the answer, you better not ask this kid a question. Okay? Because I'm not going to lie for you or anyone else. Okay.

Okay, and well, they were stupid enough to ask the question. And then, hey, and then they walk away with their nose bleeding because they hit them with the troops and they couldn't handle it. Si once told me that out of all of his COs, because I guess you get another one every year, out of all of his COs, only two had any idea what they were talking about.

And all the rest of them didn't know. I'm serious. I think we had a submission problem. Well, no, no, that's what Harold said. Yeah. Harold come home one time on leave. Okay, here's the first lieutenant in the Air Force. And he told me to do something. I said, hey, do it yourself, punk.

Hey, mama had to step in or I'd be dead. I'd have never lived another day. Harold's pretty mean. No, no, no. I'm serious. Mama had to step in and physically restrain him. Yeah. From just absolutely demolishing you. Oh, no. Because he was fixing to hurt me. Yeah. Okay. And then she kind of told me after we finally calmed down, he left.

She said, don't talk to your brother that way. He can't handle it. Yeah, okay. Speaking of truth, a little birdie, or I guess a big birdie, because y'all don't have any little birdies on your other podcast. Actually, we could trade out me and Si. We'd probably all be the same size. Yeah, told me that I was part of an argument of a situation where you were not present, which was funny.

Kind of odd. Oh, no. I thought I was. There was another time that I was present that I should have been. And I could have told the four idiots in the vehicle. Yeah. That, hey, here it goes again. Y'all are looking at something and then you ain't got the. Hmm.

To say it was a black man. Si's referring to an incident where there were four of us in the vehicle. So he just referred to the four idiots in the vehicle. One but four. You are one of the four, by the way. Which is how these stories get messed up. But where we saw a dark object that seemed to be sitting in the middle of the road. It was only three of us that day. Maybe you ain't got one.

Was it me, you, and John? Yeah, originally. There was four people in there. Who was the fourth? No, it wasn't all four. It wasn't three. It was three of them. Yeah, because they recreated. I was in the middle of a mixed belief. I'm driving slow. I just got back from preaching the gospel and baptizing about seven or eight people. I'm just cruising along, making my way back down to the house. I look on my left.

At 20 to 25 yards, there is a animal coming right toward my car. Yeah. I stopped. And this thing come in front of me. He acted like I was not there. He was black. Mm-hmm. Fact. He had a tail. Fact. Fact. He was, I'd say, 30, 40 pounder. Not real big. Interesting. But big.

But he did have a tail. And he was black. And he was black. And I was sitting there looking at him. First time I've ever actually said, okay. Okay. It's 20 yards. He's walking. Well, we've heard these stories. So let's get to the issue at hand. It was a large...

For cats, the way they go, he was far bigger than like a tomcat coming out of your garage. Not quite the size of a regulation jaguar. That's right. He was not a big, big guy. Which presents a problem. A bobcat size without it. I had a good look on him. So Si and I saw this bobcat that turned into a black panther. Well chronicled on the show. A week ago, where it's teal season.

And there were four men in the little side-by-side. Jay was driving. I was in the passenger seat. No windshield. So, because it was five degrees cooler than it had been, which felt like wintertime. It was like 64 degrees. Oh, you're going 50 miles an hour. Or 10. So, we're driving pretty slow through the woods on a dirt road.

And something is coming toward the side, my side, at a pretty good clip. As in, slow down. What color was this varmint? Black. Jet black. Jet black. I see it, but when I see it, it looks like it's moving fast, but it's moving...

Weirdly fluid. Like a, I got a hand going up and down. Kind of like, what motion is this? What motion would a serpent? I was like an accordion, you know, just like, so that got my attention.

It wasn't like a pig because a pig has a certain way to run. This is all happening quickly. It happened pretty quickly, but I'm saying it was so close to us as in I reached over to Jay because I thought we're fixing to have a collision. He tapped the brakes a little bit. If you had had that collision, we would all know now.

I'm just saying, I'm not encouraging you to... That may have solved the entire issue. We've had so many sightings that in this moment, I thought, uh-oh.

Because it's a large black object, kind of low to the ground, but very long. Did he have a tail? The first thing I thought is, let me just look at the tail. I looked at the tail as it's going under the vehicle. I mean, Jay literally stopped. It's in the headlight. It's not like way up there. It's right here on the truck. I would say this creature was five to ten feet tall.

In front of me. You could almost reach out and touch it. I looked at the tail and I went, wow. Because that immediately told me that this was an otter.

Now, it was in a place. It was in a place. A river otter. It was in a place that you would never think you would see a river otter. But. You were fixing to say it. No, it was a river otter. He set it up for me. He's been thinking about this. I've been thinking about it. He worked on that all the way out here. To quote a wise man, I'm giving you the truth.

Oh, I don't doubt that. And Jay said, that's a black cat. And I said, river otter. And the two guys on the back seat said, that was a black cat. And I said, river otter. It was an otter. That's the first I've heard of any agreement on this sighting. Because I was told, okay, Jay said, black cat. You said, river otter.

Clay said spiritual being, and then whoever else was in there. Yeah, now Clay did say that. He said it was- It was four different stories, okay? And look- Four different things. Now, one of the guys- This is four people sitting in a four-foot area looking at something that's 10 feet or closer. Wow.

Why ain't there an agreement somewhere? Well, because it was dark. Yeah. And this thing was moving. Yeah, there's all kinds of excuses. Have you ever seen a... I wonder if there's a picture somewhere of a river otter on the run. Oh, I've seen that. Have you? Yeah, I've seen it on top of the levee down there on Phil's property because...

So what you're saying, Saz, you know the difference between a river otter and a black cat. Well, no, no. Hey, one time it was unidentifiable. I'm on the four-wheeler going down the levee. Okay. He's up there about, oh, 150 feet. Yep. And I see it and I can't identify it. There you go. Matty's got it pulled up for you, too. That's it. See, look. Just hold it right there. On the top left.

That's what I saw. Oh, I see the long tail. The long tail. And see how it looks. See how the body has that hump? Well, when it's on the run, it's moving like that. It's up and down. That seemed to be very close to what I saw. See? We've got it all corrected right here. Oh, I know y'all have got it corrected. I'll say that I was the only person who thought it was a river otter.

But I was the closest to the actual bee. Here's the thing. Okay. There was three times. What I saw was not low hugging the ground. Well, his hump's pretty high. There's another picture of one. There's one running. See, she got it. That was fantastic. That was video. We just showed a video. See how it was doing that? That's what this was doing.

And look, that thing was big. Yeah. Five feet long. Well, that's big. That one in the picture is big. No, no, because he weighs an otter or a grown otter, I would say weighs 20, at least 20, maybe 25. That's what I said. Whatever I saw. We've solved the problem. Are you on my team now? No. No, no. Because, hey, I've been there before.

Okay, there was three different times. He said, you may have seen a river. No, no, there's three different times that I looked at an unidentified object. I never did identify it.

UFO. Okay, I had seen it. I run to it with a four-wheeler. Yeah. And hey, here's, you know, I could come up, could have said it for sure. You would have said for sure it was a red-iron. Because where it went off the levee. Yeah. I was up there like that quick. Well, there's one of them pits that

red, dug and put dirt. Yeah, barbed wire. Yeah. Well, now it's full of water. And guess what? The water's rippled. Yep, but you see. And I could say, well, it could have been an otter. So I said, well, cut it off. The garment I saw was not even close. That's a mile away, a levee. There was no levees. No.

Well, there was no levee. I mean, so here was their argument. So whatever I saw was kind of in tune with what you're saying. Well, they said, well, we're too far away from the water for it to be a river otter. I was like, well, we're...

quarter mile but i said well there's a corn field out there yeah planted and i was like i think he was out there eating corn eating some corn now will a river otter eat some corn i don't know what that one did because he was coming from the field he saw the headlights and said hey let me go back down water which he was a long way from home but if you're hungry i would go a long way from home yep

So now the quote I heard though, because I think you were arguing a lot more passionately. Luciferous. Without my presence there. Oh, I'd have been passionate. No, in the Duck Call Room podcast, what I heard was, is it's a miracle that Jace even believes in Jesus. Yeah.

Well, it is. Because you ain't seen him either. I know. That's what he said. I was like, what in the world? He's like, he's... It was not really, that was just your... Hyperbole. Yeah. He's like, he's seen a black panther. And won't admit it. And won't admit it. That's right. Can't see Jesus. He's like, yeah, I'm going to try it. So... That's why most people say, hey, Jesus, give me a sign.

Well, hey, you can get all the signs you want, but you still ain't no believing Jesus. It won't do any good. Well, exactly. But you can, hey, signs ain't going to save you. You got to believe that he is the man. He says he is. Oh, man. So I just made the perfect segue. I want you guys to check out NetSuite by Oracle. Jase, you know something about Oracle? I do. I own that company in my portfolio, so I guess I'm part owner. So full transparency, I'm not...

as aware of NetSuite because these big companies, they have multiple companies under their umbrella.

That's actually a really good point. It is. I mean, we don't haul around signs in a trailer saying, hey. That always shocked me. Okay, it really does. It always shocked me because I seen something on the show the other day, and the guy was saying, well, if you'd only give me a sign, and I'm saying, dude.

He gave you so many signs when he walked this earth, and we've got it recorded. It's been recorded for us, and we can read it. Right. That won't help you.

You have to believe, okay? Yeah. And once you believe in him, if you want to ask for signs as you're trying to make decisions and figuring out what his will is, that's fine. Oh, if you want to ask for help. Exactly. That's the reason. Well, you ain't got no problem with that. There's a difference in that. Well, there's a guy we play cards with that you'll like this, that he buys and sells and trades signs. Yeah.

So one day, he was talking about signs. He's always talking about showing people pictures. Look at this sign, you know, an old sign. And I said, at what point are you going to get to the destination? And he looked at me and said, what are you talking about? I said, what point are you going to get to the destination? You went over his head. He said, well, I got some trips lined up. And I was like.

Well, that's my point. When are you going to get to the destination? But I wanted him to figure it out. He never got it. Oh, no, it wasn't over his head. I spent my whole life in dealing in signs, which basically say which way to go, where am I headed, turn around, do not enter, off ramp, exit. One way. Yeah, one way. I was like, when are you going to actually do it?

He never got it. It was like the old joke where the guy keeps passing the sign that said, the end is near, the end is near. About the third one, he just run off a ravine. For him, it wasn't. And he was like, yeah, I thought he was just talking about the end of the earth. I didn't know there was the end of the road. The end of the road. Yeah.

So my wife had a good point this morning. We were talking about people coming to the Lord. Because I was like, babe, what did you share with these women where all of a sudden they all want to start coming to Jesus? Because she was mentoring these. I talked about this in a previous podcast about this event. She said, well, one thing I did, I got to thinking about that wedding banquet in John chapter 2.

And because she said, I just said, look, she invited these girls to her, our bed and breakfast place. But the last night she invited them to our house and she went and got all the preparations ready.

She cooked for them. She actually hired Lynn to help her. She got the house clean. The yard was mowed. I mean, everything was ready. So when they walked in, it literally was- So the guests never arrived. The guests arrived and it was ready. And so she said, I told them that story and then mentioned John too. And it's like, that's what God has done for us in Jesus.

He's got it all ready. He's prepared for everything. Yeah, it's a party, a feast, a good time. And then when you come in, you're like, all right, do you want to participate?

Well, of course. It was awesome, you know? Right. And she's like, next thing I know, they all want to be baptized. I was like, pretty good illustration. That's pretty good. Yeah, it was powerful. Hey, you got the phone. She just participated in the Great Commission. Yeah. So before you start your presentation, I wanted to ask y'all this question because one of the girls that night asked me something and she said, look, my boyfriend, I'm trying to bring him to the Lord.

And so I introduced y'all's podcast or whatever. She said, but you know what would be great? She's like, if y'all just did a podcast where it's like, here is the presentation to get in Jesus, you know? Because she was like, I can tell she is obsessed with Jesus Christ, number one. And number two, she's like, well, I'm dating this guy, but this is never going to work.

on its current trajectory. So she's like... Because he's not where I want him to be. Well, right. She's all of a sudden had this awakening, which led her to be a part of this program. So I thought it would be in honor of her request. And we're studying the book of Colossians, and the first chapter really is...

a definition of what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. I mean, it's done in a way of, I've heard about what's happened here. And then he like tells what happened, your faith and love that's springing from the hope. And then he gets into the focus on who Jesus is. And so I just thought that might be a good thing for, for this young woman. Well, there's a lot of confusion about how you get into Jesus Christ.

Yeah. It would be a good thing to do. That's what I'm saying. Why don't y'all give us, everybody give a little. Yeah. So, so we all have a different way. I mean, how do we want to label this? Do you want to say what it means to be a Christian, which is the word we use, which is Christian. I would say the path to Jesus is what I would have to Jesus. Yep. Okay. So look, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

At the end of them, you could take Matthew or Mark. We'll just take Matthew. The Great Commission. Which is in 28. When does this end? And Jesus gave that. That's right. 28, 18. The 11 disciples went to Galilee to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him. But some doubted. Then Jesus came to them. Now listen to this carefully.

All authority in heaven and on earth. That's a lot of authority. I would think that was... Has been given to me, Jesus said. I have all the authority. On heaven and under earth. Here's the marching order. My question is, when did this end? It hasn't. When did...

You are correct. All authority in heaven and on earth, that's a lot, has been given to me. I have all the authority on every issue. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations worldwide. It says...

baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I've commanded you. If you look carefully, what you'll see is that right there, the end. We're still in that. He said, now hold on to that because that's not all of it. So you turn over and you get to Mark.

He said to them, this is Mark. I wasn't reading from Matthew. Mark 16. Mark 16. Go into the world and preach the news to all creation. We got it. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved. But whoever who does not believe will be condemned. So you got that. Yeah. Well, then you've got the thing that seals the deal. And you tell me, when did this stop?

When did this stop? I don't believe it stopped. John chapter 3. There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling council. Big dog. He came to Jesus at night and he said, Rabbi, we know your teacher has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing if God were not with him.

Now listen very carefully, and then you ask yourself a question. When did this end for the world? When did it end for these people? They're being told. I tell you the truth, Jesus said, verse 3. Unless a man is born again, which is difficult to happen if you don't know what he's talking about.

Unless a man is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Can't see it. Can't even see it. How can a man be born when he's old? Nicodemus asked. Surely he cannot enter a second time until his mother is willing to be born. Jesus answered. Now listen to this very carefully. I tell you the truth. Unless a man is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

So you get down to, first you can't sit. A man is born, unless he's born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. You're out. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to Spirit. You should not be surprised by me saying, you must be born again. You've got to go. You've got to die and get out of the way, and you're going to be replaced with an eternal life.

And this is where something right here needs to be said. The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear it sound, but you cannot tell where it's come from or where it's going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit. Now, if you'll look, if you move forward from right there, over and over and over and over, we took on Ephesians.

They didn't miss it. There's one body, one spirit, just as you were called, one hope when you were called. People are told to go out. They're called to go preach the gospel. There's one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God. Got to be there. One baptism. You say, got to get in connection with water. Got to be born of water. Water's there. That's Ephesians that we looked at.

I guess in this political season, the more I see on television and speeches about abortion and the life issue, the more it makes me want to defend the defenseless. I mean, do you feel that way? I think as a member of the kingdom of God, you just have to draw a line in the sand. And we all need to do a better job of defining that.

The origin of life and where humans come from. Exactly. We were all babies at some point. And I see it as a light and dark issue.

But in the darkness, there's a way to defend life. And we've got a lot of groups alongside us. One of those is Preborn. They have a network of clinics. And when you support these guys, you offer life and love to mothers in crisis and at-risk babies. And remember, it's about love. It's about love of mothers, fathers, as well as the babies. We want to bring life into the conversation. When you introduce the mothers to their child through ultrasound, you double the baby's chance at life.

Each life-saving ultrasound costs just $28, but pre-born can't do this without us, the pro-life community. Please give your best gift today and sponsor as many ultrasounds as you can. All gifts are tax-deductible. And if you have the means, would you consider a leadership gift to save babies in a big way?

Your tax-deductible donation of $5,000 would sponsor Preborn's entire network for 24 hours, and that would help rescue 200 babies. So let's join together. Let's help mothers choose life. To donate, dial pound 250 and say the keyword baby. That's pound 250, keyword baby. Or go to preborn.com slash unashamed. That's preborn.com slash unashamed.

Cleansing her by the washing with water through the word. Yeah. Well, you start seeing these texts. That's Ephesians. We just got through studying it. So you get to Galatians. When you back up a little bit, you say, is the great commission still? It's still in play. It has never ended. Is it there now?

You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all, far, because all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourself with Christ, as neither Jew nor Greek, slave, Great Commission, Great Commission. So when you see John 3 in the Great Commission given, born of water and the Spirit, you better get you some water and get ready, because we're going to bury you

And then the new one's going to come forth. It's a death, burial, and resurrection. And that is the rest of the Bible. This young lady is worried about the man she wants to marry. She wants him in Jesus. Right. The question was, how do you get in Jesus? Right. Okay. He read the Great Commission. Yep. Jesus is the one that gave that. That is correct. Okay. This is the man that...

was killed and rose from the dead. Now, the question is, how do you get in Jesus Christ? Okay, I'll tell you. You have to be born again. You've got to get in contact with water. You've got to get in contact with death. You've got to get in contact with the blood of Jesus. Well, how's that going to happen? Well, hey, God is the creator. Okay, so guess what? Here's how you get in Jesus. You hear his story.

who he is, what he's done in the past, the present, the future. Okay. And then, okay, if you believe that, you've got to obey it. And the way you obey it is you reenact Jesus' real death, burial, and resurrection by baptism.

And guess what? When you go under the water, you're burying the old man of sin or the old woman of sin. You're correct. You're burying them. Okay. There's a burial. Somebody has died here. There's a burial. Okay. Romans 6. And when you come up out of the water, God speaking. Okay. You are now a new, the old is gone.

You are a new creation. We're crying out loud. You are clean. We are. You are no longer a sinner. And guess what? The reason being, you are now in Christ Jesus. Over and over. Over and over. That's mentioned. Don't miss this.

Not funny. I just don't know why I'm laughing. No, no, no. Hey, oh, it's deadly serious because, hey, guess what's riding on what you believe and what you do? Eternal life. Hey, your eternal destiny. Jason said it a while ago. Where are you going? Hey, I'm going, hey, I'm passing through here. I'm a pilgrim on this piece of earth. Yeah. Okay, I'm on a voyage. Yeah.

I'm headed toward heaven and Jesus Christ, the one that rose from the dead and is still saying, hey, go do the Great Commission. That's correct. That is what you're here for.

Both of y'all mentioned it, and especially the final point, I think, which at our baptism is that final commitment. We're all in. We're willing to show this. The Holy Spirit's in us. You must be born again. Let me give you the first part, because we're all just contributing here. And mine is from Romans 10, which is one of my favorite texts, because this shows you the condition of your heart and where you have to be. In the context here, he's talking about...

the Jews who still are wanting to hold on to law. But he says something interesting. He says that in Romans 10, 4, Christ is the end of the law. Yep. So that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes. That's right. So they were still trying to hold on to this old system. And he's like, no, you can't do that anymore. Yeah, we can't fulfill it. We can't earn it. We can't fulfill it. So here's what he says in verse 8. The word is near you. It is in your mouth and in your heart.

That is the word of faith we are proclaiming. This shows you the condition you have to be before you get to the point you both described to finally submit in water baptism. You are correct. That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. So we're talking about this pathway to Jesus, this pathway to salvation.

It is with your heart that you believe and are justified. It is with your mouth that you confess. That he's now going to be the Lord of your life. And are saved. And then he says there's no difference between Jew and Gentile. So he's saying this is available for all of us as dad read in the Great Commission. And then listen to this. How can they call on the one they have not believed in?

How can they believe in the one they have not heard? How can they hear without someone telling them? And how can they tell them unless they are sent? As it is written, back to the Great Commission, how beautiful are those who bring... That's why it really makes Romans chapter 6 jump out at you. What shall we say then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase by no means? We died to sin. How can we live in it any longer? Don't you know? By this time...

based on what Jesus has said, don't you know that all of us were baptized into Christ Jesus, were baptized into his death. We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death. In order that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. And it's worked out for you, say,

You need to run toward the water. Run toward it. Yeah, don't wait. There's a message in your head. Because again, it shows the condition of your heart that you're ready.

I'm going to change what I was going to do based on what they've said. So when you come to Colossians and he writes this letter to this little town that was in between bigger towns and Paul had never even been there. But this fellow named Epaphras had said,

fulfilled the great commission. And look how this is. He had started the church there. Look how this is described. So when Paul starts off, first he says, grace and peace to you from God our Father. That's like in verse two, but he calls them the holy and faithful brothers in Christ at Colossae. And we realize why he's deeming them holy because they have

surrendered to the one who is holy. Jesus is perfect. That's right. He was set apart. And was he faithful to what God's plan was? Absolutely. I mean, he became a human. And despite all the attacks from every evil power and authority on planet earth in that time, Rome, from Judaism, from hypocrites, Pharisees,

demonic spiritual forces of evil he was faithful to the plan never never messed up the reed 211 colossians 211 well but we got to get there first because i'm saying if someone doesn't understand because people immediately when you bring up baptism they think well what what is that you know when you immerse someone in water well without jesus you're just going under some water

Right. Everybody think you're just getting wet. Well, that's what I'm saying. Well, without Jesus, you are just getting wet. Yeah, then it's a chicken fight in the pool. Yeah, it's my waiters were leaking the other day. And guess what? I wasn't being baptized. I was just getting wet. Getting wet. Yeah, it had nothing to do with anything. So that's why Al read that Romans 10, 9, and 10. But I think when you look at where this starts, he says, we always thank God.

the father of our Lord Jesus when we pray for you because we've heard of your faith in Christ Jesus. So they've put their faith, their belief, their assurance, their certainty that Jesus is the son of God. Not only that, okay, like he said, if you had to literally physically die to get into Jesus,

I don't think we'd have any takers. Yeah, exactly. Okay, now you got to think about this. Great point. Look what the sun has done because, hey, look, guys, that's...

That was the plan that the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit made before the creation of the world. Great point, because he did physically die. No, no. He's done that, and we get to reenact that. His death, burial, and resurrection. His death, burial, and resurrection. And then we are in him, and guess what? In him, all the answers are yes. Yeah. Hallelujah! That's great!

So then he heard about their faith and their love, the faith and love that spring from the hope that is stored up for you in heaven. And that you have already heard, and this gets back to where Phil started, you heard about in the word of truth, the gospel that has come to you. So go into the whole world and preach the gospel. Well, this Epaphras preached it.

And people said, you know what? I'm going to put my faith in it. And it caused them to love not only God, but to love other people. And it came from, and I mentioned this on the last podcast, a hope that is different from how we defined it in the English language. When we say hope, we think that there's a possibility that it may not happen. But in the Bible, when you're talking about hope in Jesus, it's

There is no possibility that this is going to fail. Good point. It's very certain. That's why it says faith is being sure of what we hope for. This is a sure thing. And certain of what we do not see. So that's why it produces faith and love, because when you start talking about heaven and eternal life, well, we're certain of it, because when he gets to the next section on who Jesus is, there's two things.

Interesting phrases. I mean, there's a lot of power in that 15 through 20. But there's two interesting phrases because when Phil brought up being born again, Paul in his letter to the Colossians says Jesus in verse 15 is the image of the invisible God. And then there's an interesting phrase here. The firstborn over all creation.

And you say, well, firstborn of all creation. So when Jesus was born, he was the first human that showed that God could dwell in people because he was God and a man. So that's why he was the firstborn. Now, our guest a few weeks ago.

What was the preacher? Joby. He brought this up, something I noticed also. The Greek word for that is something I can't pronounce, but it's where we get the word prototype. So the Greek word is like proto-something. In other words, if you want to be like somebody... Well, just think about it. What is a prototype? When you made your first duck call, Phil, remember you said, hey...

Here's the prototype. What does that mean? There's way more to come. Yeah. So Jesus... This is the original. Exactly the same material. Yeah, we're going to reproduce this by the millions. And it's the only one there is. That's the original. The original. So when Jesus was... By the way, it's the only place this term is in there. When Jesus was first born, he introduced a prototype that God can dwell in humans. Yes.

So then it says, for by him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth. That's why he was able to be the firstborn, because he was actually part of the creation process. Before the creation process, he was there. He'd create anything he wants to do. So he's like, all right. That's why it took raw power to save the human race. Exactly. The creator interjected himself and said, hey, you want to see a new creation? How about God in humans?

And so then he goes on to say he's above all authorities and what you read, all authorities being given to Jesus. Why? Because he came from God.

Something outside time and space and the earth. And here's the amazing thing. And he's willing to share all of it with us. Exactly. Now, the second point, though, is then it says he is in verse 17. He is before all things in him. All things hold together. He's the head of the body, the church.

which is our connection to him, those who have surrendered. He is the beginning. But now watch this next prototype word. And the firstborn from among the dead. He has another prototype. He was the first to show you that a human could come back from the dead. Well, what did that imply?

There's more to come from that prototype. So when you put the two prototypes together on who Jesus is, God can live in human flesh, and humans who have God living in their human flesh can come back from the dead. Well, all of a sudden, now you're seeing the reason why people say, I need to put my faith in that.

I need to start having his love in my heart. So I'm saying, though, you get that in order. So when you get to Colossians 2, which is where you wanted to jump to, when you get to verse 9, it says, For in Christ all the fullness of the deity, God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, back to the Great Commission, lives in bodily form. He's the image of the invisible God. We just read it.

And you have been given fullness in Christ. When I was talking to humans, these people from Colossae, you've been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority in Christ. You had something cut off. You were circumcised in the putting off of the sinful nature or sinful flesh. That old man, think Adam, we're all humans now.

With no hope. And you need to remember what Phil read when he first started. Jesus said, hey, all authority has been given to me. Exactly. All of it. You had this circumcision take place, not with the circumcision done by the hands of men, talking about the Jewish system. Which is back to Romans 10, the law. But with the circumcision done by Christ, having been buried with him in baptism and raised with him through your faith,

In the working of God who raised him from the dead. And so I think that's why people get off on that because they think it's something you're doing when actually I'll see. It's the working of God, which then he goes into, he disarmed the powers. He canceled the law.

And that's why he then makes a point to them. So why are you getting into these other theologies and beliefs that don't have Jesus at the center? And then he made a graphic illustration. You've lost connection with the head. When you lose connection with your head, nothing good is going to happen. They're going to put you in the ground in two pieces. Something's fixed to die. Yeah, you're dead. Yeah. You can't live from the vine. I've been wanting that particular lesson.

You've been waiting on that. I've been patiently waiting. A thousand podcasts. I just kept looking at all. And after the great commission, I just noticed it just keeps coming up. Well, the point is you can't. Being born in water, if you're not, you can't make it. You can't get the cart before the horse, though, which is why I like what my wife did. She simply for two nights in this little gathering.

hung out in the gospels matthew martin luke and john and and taught them about jesus well that's who he is hang out well right yeah and what he said what he did how he acted you know all the details of that and so what happened is these these women fell in love and were convicted by the image of the invisible god which is jesus which was his plan then all of a sudden

There was a rush to want to

know him better to get in christ to make him lord of their life and so that's how this works so you share jesus and the illustration that he made in colossians because i quit reading in verse five but he gives this illustration of like a garden which takes you back to the original garden when god made humans and said you know here we go well now we have a new guard a new creation

And it comes from the gospel. And just to finish this thought, it says in verse six, all over the world, this gospel is bearing fruit and growing just as it has been doing before.

among you since the day you heard it and understood God's grace in all its truth. You learned it from Epaphras. I think it's a very interesting illustration on how to do it. I mean, I gave you the one Missy said about I prepared everything. This is how God did it for us on the planet. And then he welcomes you in and says you

you want to participate in this. Well, here it's like you're planting a garden. You share the gospel and it brings back all those passages when Jesus said about the parable of the sower, you know, farmer was scattering seed. So when you hear the gospel, which is Jesus and what you said, what he did, what he's doing, what he will do, but just who he is.

It's like a seed that comes to you and all of a sudden you're like, yeah, yeah, I want to do this. And then it starts bearing fruit and growing. It causes a response to surrender your entire life to him since he was creator. So when Jesus was on the earth, he called 12 men to follow him.

11 out of the 12 men and 11 out of the 12 were all in, even though they struggled, they were all in. And once this commission went out, as you read, then they led other people. What's interesting is one out of the 12 was never in.

Because even though he became part of the group, his heart was never right. It was evident by the end because his heart was in Satan, not in Christ. So it really shows you this is what happens. So what we've done today on the podcast is we've thrown that call out to you. You're listening.

And are you all in? Is Jesus who he says he is to you? You're all in your heart, your mouth. You confess him as Lord. Are you willing to totally go in and be his? And the call goes out to everybody. Peter said he doesn't want anyone to perish. That's right. So the call goes out to everybody. The question is, can you confess him? Can you make him your Lord? It's not an interstate to heaven.

This is more like a deer trail. I like that. And the sign says Jesus. Few search for it and few find it. That's right. You got to know what you're looking for on a deer trail. I'm just saying. That's a great point. Like I said, that's why I just. In fact, the way Jesus put it was wide is the road that leads to destruction. Narrow the road to eternal life because most people aren't seeking life.

And yet he's calling. So all you got to do is make that connection. We're proof of the Great Commission, just like today. That's right. We're part of the Great Commission. And we do it all the time. That's never going to stop. Never. Until the father has the sons and daughters he wants.

And we're never going to know when that is. Right. And it's a mindset because, you know, recently we've been talking about these storms that happened. You know, our cousins who are believers, they went about one day from worried about themselves to then trying to help other people. And that's what this is about. I know. This is about, look, I know my salvation. I know who I'm all in. But I want other people to know. That's why we do this. It's like the human race needs to ask this question.

Question. Who's got the power? Who's got the power? Who's got the power? That would be Jesus. The one that overcame death. Okay.

I don't know who you're going to go with, but trust me when I tell you, I hope if somebody stuck a .45 caliber pistol upside my head and said, you're going to deny him or die. And I said, pull the trigger. You don't know who you're talking to. I know the man that raises dead men, Jack, and he's promised that to me. So, no, just go ahead and shoot.

You're going to waste a bullet, but hey, that's okay. I like it. Because I'll be back. All right, Jack. We're out of time. It's always a pleasure to have you. I love it. Podcasts here with us always seem to go fast. Well, I always learn something. Yeah. You got one thing, okay? Is it just a coincidence? Father, Son, Holy Spirit, Faith, Hope, Love. Ooh. Ooh.
