right? What is that? People of the internet? Welcome back to another episode of the way from podcast where your host on our kiss, I man and i'm David, and this is a in and so much more stuff when trying to .
make fish.
No, no, but someone did suggest the name jane you where like software or hardware?
K actually going to say where because there are so many where ables, but there's not that many. Yeah the A I pen .
is not coming out yet. Yes, is thing .
the people not january? yes. So maybe I don't know why I was a great in anyway, we're a host.
I knew I said that already. I don't know. I tried to do that twice today.
We're doing headlines in a hat. We've done this before. You guys know how goes. Basically, Andrews got a hat here. It's full of a bunch of headlines, and they are all get headlines because you what we .
still need to make this actual hat, we need to have .
lines much that is yeah okay. So I hat hat should make okay, I like that idea. But the point is, uh, lots of smaller things today and we probably have different varying links of things to talk about. So just put them in a hat and go through and see what there.
I decided, who wants to take first?
Why I say .
one? This is .
gigantic. Okay, my headline and hat. This is my favorite one. Oh, no.
sorry. Truly apologize to .
talk about the posted amy beautiful simple calendar APP A M I E. Now if you know me, you know that I have a bit of a weakness for .
I think toxic tree is the you could call IT that you know.
I like, I prefer to call IT like it's something i'm working on, but I saw this and i'd never actually gotten to use IT or I don't think i've even heard of amy. So I I clicked IT and you can blame item for this. I immediately died on the rabbit hole.
Now the vertical just looks like a Normal article, and i'm like looking at IT, reading about some of the features looks prety cool. And then I click the link to go to the website. And for some reason, it's an incredibly beautiful website. And I was immediately drawn in. I do have a .
huge weakness for website that click on them or or applications that we install. It's just like .
have you seen the site look at look at this website. I'm going to for a video views, you can actually see what's going on. But there's like floating glass windows that all converge into a moving calendar, and it's to do email and calender all in one.
Now I will just prove this. I don't want to waste you yes time. I just want to say, like I ve tried a lot of these things and the core apps in my life are much to do this, my calendar and my email.
And one of the biggest promises that a lot of these own ones make is combining two or three of them. So a lot of times it's the calendar earth, a lot of times it's the calendar and to do list. So we able to put tasks on your counter, that type of thing.
But in order to commit to one, you have to d commit from the two other apps that you are using. So whatever calender up your using, you don't use that anymore. And whatever task APP you're using, all the systems you have set up there, you don't use that anymore.
You have to hope all those features are in this hybrid APP. Yeah, I haven't tried amy yet, but that's the number one thing i'm concerned about going in is I don't know if that to do list features are going to be as a robust as what I currently use a tick tic. I don't know all the calender features are going to be azo bus as what I currently use with notion calender.
And there's an email client built in which I can almost guarantee is an azara bus as what I do with superhuman. So all of these things have to have some sort of extra advantage to convince me to merge them on the one place. There's also no android APP and there's also what cry yeah there's no .
entered up unfortunately.
And IT also is the subscription. So oh, I have to really like IT and i'm going to try IT. I feel like the .
day that you stop using tiki is the day health freeze. Over the day the cyber truck comes out, pro becomes reality. I could be I should .
probably stop using take, take like now now I stop using take, take once every two months. When I tried something else like I tried to one called routine. Pretty recently I tried one and that was that was tasks and calender but no email um and I tried another one i'm getting a name of and I try things like every six months like .
there's a lot of called yeah I use both google .
keep in google notes .
and .
there's no oh sorry apple .
o and google keep .
yes no organizational one.
I use my clock, I use keep. I use keep for taking notes during reviews. So when i'm driving a car or using a phone, as soon as I set IT up, I set up a new google keep. Uh, note for that thing to keep rolling notes of as we go so that when i'm ready to write your review .
I just dump IT into the duck so that then the new um cause wasn't in the galaxy event there was that I use your keep notes and a organize .
them and bull point them in everything that yeah no so I like that feature but i'm not trying to switch the samsung notes because what .
if the next phone I review isn't m sung notes or IT galaxy I with that .
work inside an obstructing thing?
It's just a bunch of AI features and a bunch of different .
apps yeah specific like O, C, R. And I can write recognition. Yeah.
yeah.
So yeah. I mean, you have a first even done that. I have.
You have. You did. What do you think? yeah.
So I got IT. I signed in. I I checked all the boxes. I gave IT access .
to my entire life. You can give me your apple health data.
You can get a spotify for sanities plans too. No, I immediately. I don't want to read that. I just said, yeah.
have OK. I question, I question O K. I don't understand what why people don't just google calendar mobile with their life. I want what is IT about calendar apps that are Better than any other calendar apps because every screen shot I see, like every calendar, just looks like every other calendar.
I did make the joke that the screen shot here just looks like what I see my every day.
That is a totally reasonable observation. Calendars, fundamentally, all on altitudes. Okay, i'm ready.
Let's go. Team, also a freak.
So, yeah, I sick. Now, the calendars, you can only organize them visually in so many different ways, right? It's time you have a week. So you have to have seven slots for the days like we can't figure out how to visually, visually organized your calendar, but then there's the actual U I for inputting and managing and moving around in that visual space.
So a lot of people just put like meetings and like a couple things they need remember birthdays, whatever on calendars and that's all put um I know people who don't really even put times of locations, they just have to remember that something happens one day. They just make IT an all day event for that day and they just know I am not that every person I need to actually put the blocks out for time so that I know because I have a lot of things going on, right? So a lot of these calendar apps aren't changing visually anything at all.
What they're changing is how you get about moving things, adding things of tracking things, marking them is done, marking them as onto the next one, locating space, sharing a available space for a meeting, like all of that stuff that comes with this calendar thing. That's what they all try to mess. So this one having email and to duce built in, they're trying to convince me to drag to do list items directly on the calendar to commit to doing at a certain time oh.
so like when you go figure to do list sad the time yeah.
And when you get an email, you want to commit to doing the tasks from my email at a certain time, drag IT onto the calendar. You can dry the email under the content. Yeah so that's a new concept for a lot of these hybrid apps .
because a lot of these launching ah yes, email apps or calendar apps or task just keep on you. And google keeps .
trying to like finite, like mess with things too to try to add some these features in IT. But the other thing too is that google is such a like the google calendar APP, they're not going to mess with that fundamentally. Yeah.
so many people use IT until .
they shut IT down until they are down, inevitable. But all of these random little laps, one, you think google is ever gona have an integration that shows when you listen to spotify?
Why would I care you?
It's just fine. It's just cool.
What if I want to know how many steps I usually take on mondays?
You look at your .
watch .
or you just look at your your calender and color gradient stuff like that.
It's one of those things i'm like I get is just a counter up and I kind of the same sentiment but then realize like is a people who say like why do you need while charging? How long is to take to just plug your phone? And yeah yeah but if you're saving all that time and all those different times, IT does that up. And like, IT is convenient. So maybe I .
just need to try, I very funny funy humorously. They just announced notion calendar. Yes, just came out this.
Yeah, that was and that was, well, that I used to crime. IT was crime. So you guys just switched to that.
right? IT is the same APP just with a rebrand. I think .
they are bought by notion and .
then using crown for a .
so that feel Better or worse than um it's like after a car .
enthusiast like IT, does this car feel Better or worse? There are things that I like about and am very used to in chrome the notion counter, but i'm willing to forgo some of those to try some new features that this one might have a call yeah yeah well yeah that's I my counter and it's .
been IT for some .
audio listeners can hear a shaking.
That's me shaking. All right. Okay, I can't believe I got this. Had one. All right. So new jersey, yes.
this is a quick one.
This is local .
new .
jersey news .
for .
all you should .
like this. Yes, yeah.
But okay. So I don't live a new jersey, to be clear. However, I do go to a gym ee jersey here because we have office. A new jersey just made IT a law that all gyms in the state are required to have an online cancellation option. Now, yes, yes, yes.
Now this is actually extremely important because in the united states at this, I don't know, and if this is like a lot in other countries, but at least in the states, there are a lot of very cheap gyms that are like ten fifteen dollars months. They have have a lot of random hidden fees, like once a year you have to be sixty dollars for some reasons. And baba ba, anyway, you can sign up online and like two seconds and they don't like, but they don't let you a stop your membership online.
You would not only have to be in the gym, but you also have, in many cases you have to like right a letter as to why you need to cancel and like send IT by parcel mail. Two, the headquarters, at which case they could just say, like we didn't even even get a small story when I lived in sanfords, isco, the dad was moving out of santa cisco, leaving god to my apartment. I went to my gym to cancel and they're like, like that manager has to be here and he's not in today and I was like, what i'm moving and I like, yeah.
Like let's third. And so I ended up going back and four of them for like four until they like made an exception. But it's like a horrible experience. So the fact that the new jersey state government issued this in one s day is great. I really wish biden would go after this if he's going to go after ticket master.
just are out there. Another big jersey. W served up another .
checkbox for the greatest state. yes.
Didn't the same guy say that central jersey doesn't exist? No, no.
He put into law that central .
he does exit into a lot .
not maybe not law, but they change .
some like .
new maps to .
the official .
the .
actually I was going .
to say the same amount of easier uses on subscribing .
from email, news letter, but that should be even easy. Ah thank you wall.
Does that affect at all? Which one you pick? I don't know.
Maybe pixel eight mint and .
feature drops. Not they're .
maintain up pixel .
eight N F, T. It's that's come on.
air job, not a future job.
Oh, my god, yeah, I just want my phone too. Do you can hear about this? No, oh my god. No, please. No, dude, i'm getting tagged on the regular for periods for the salona sag phone too.
No way.
But does that come with bunk? I bet.
I bet IT has lots of oh wow o related benefits to those who are in those ecosystems. I'm sure I don't know anything about the physical phone. By the way, nobody has hag a single piece of information about the phone.
The camera is a Better, who knows? The battery is a bigger. Nobody's mention that to me, but they are a quick to mention that that has forty thousand periods .
and thousand zy ah you can prior not .
clear that it's a phone yes.
a sona chapter two okay.
But if you go down to the FAQ question number four is is chapter to a phone and they don't explicit say yes.
H my god, can I stop standing this to me, please?
Like a lot more.
How much will this product cost become a top refer? Oh my god, this is why the .
product will fer will o it's definitely going to be an AI thing.
Rabbit r two.
it's debits are .
selling to a IT says this product .
will further what we set out to do with sooner saga, which was to make current products and services more accessible to the public by putting web three secular and in your hands yeah, IT doesn't say it's a fun. This is definitely in a .
hand held A I A N hundred .
and talking about .
is that already announced .
this is at the .
bottom of their website. Is my deposit refundable?
The pigs.
said nounce. Ed, yes, really yes. O the day before this goes, life got IT the right back.
I am back. I bring with me a phone here that is so like, this is the mini. This is the mint color picture. April, actually, we've seen this before, like mid cycle refresh, new colors of phones.
Um this is the most one plus thing google has ever done because yeah that one plus was always three months after the launch of the phone drop a new color just I have recreated height for IT and at least three months .
at least is not a tea like a pixel eight t it's it's an 8 pro with a new color。 So nice IT is the second same the same thing we know in love. And there is a new feature drop associated with IT. So there's a couple new things that pixel is getting um but this is a new color. I think that looks a kind of like a light see phone Green type of thing yeah very tooth state.
That feature drop was basically everything that was announced that same .
on the well yeah actually is one new thing yeah is so yes, circle the search here is coming to the pixel eight and eight pro, which is kind of the same thing. I mean, you can pick you that already you look, hold the gesture bar or the home button m at the bottom and can circle or tap whatever on screen. I love this teacher. I'm very happy as one of the pixel. The other thing is take your temperature with the pixelate pro of you've been way you .
remember this feature .
a thermonuclear p on the pixel 8 pro yeah just the eight pro。 And it's been able to measure all kinds of things, metals, fabrics for no reason whatever else you measure. Liquid ds I guess um and they're adding humans to the list. So i'm guessing IT got F D A approved, whatever they are finally able say that I can measure your skin temperature around your forehead. I don't even know what temperature I should be getting when I measure my first well.
Know if you're doing your internal .
temperatures supposed to be your core temperature yeah. So when you do a laser .
like forehead, temperature still comes out. Is that correct? Like when you're getting at the dark er's office, I never get .
it's never super accurate. And also everyone's temperature .
is slightly different. That's also also should .
be around that around to my question, is like we we kind of have determined that a lot of even smart watches are like very bad at actually reading your temperature. So wasn't IT the only the thing that they're mostly good for for like talking if you're sc or like the the like cycle maintenance stuff is like the delta between your temperatures and if there's an extreme off. So the problem is like you're not going to be taking your temperature with a pixel lic every day, right? So like how are you going to know?
You won't really. You'll just have to remember what you usually get. And there is probably not like google keep integration to keep a tab on how many times measured yourself. Yeah, it's probably not going .
to be that I think we should test to see the update to see how much try gotten. And if it's accurate, we can test IT against the real temperature. It's going to the parameter. sure. We could do pixel verses monet's.
Yeah, laser therapy ter core thomebody. I'll try .
extremely.
I to buy like regular mercury.
This is a forehead infect. Their mother should still be between ninety seven and .
ninety nine OK, right?
I guess I just have a cool .
for they aren't less accurate.
yes, or because you have no blood flow.
the outside .
your is like that the surface of your bodies more likely to change depending on your environment. The inside.
everybody, yes, everyone is cold. You'd never get any eight point six. Well, that's the headline pixel. I like this in the year matter.
Ah yeah.
there's two other ones. I think there two other here. The photo photo mogi, photo mogi h allows you to transform your favor photos into reactions with the help of undevout cool AI .
that's a bit bad. Naming photos makes a time like it's gonna like ano yeah first stuff .
like that but I do like IT is this something you can .
use like in um messages goole .
mesage reactions.
It's going to be an mog that moves in the message that moves .
yeah like stickers .
stickers which every phone seems to make a big deal about dropping as .
a future and I never use them and .
apple .
I I O K so my good friend omar shadow o list is he's a visual artist he had mostly works with. He does a lot everything but has a lot with pencil on paper and he was showing me that for his work he uses the sticker um to take like scan his sketches because he can get them on a transparent, accountable and then because IT saves to a cloud bank in the messages when he he does IT on his phone like on the subway sketching and then he opens his ipad and can take all of his new stickers straight to procreate to college them and I was like, cool. And the cut outs are really good because it's just pencilled on paper.
I can get the edges perfectly yeah and tends to be a perfect at an apple. Erie, no, that was a thing people did.
but that's perfect for that. I know it's and IT seeks across devices .
yeah just like using final cut on the ipad on the train. People totally do for sure. Anyway, the last .
thing is magic composed, powered by google generative air technology. Magic composed craft stylized suggested responses with the context of your messages. So the right text back to your .
friends so this is the same as the gmail order reply.
I an text message is already one will have .
the context of the whole conversation, maybe how you talk already. So instead of i'm on my way, it's see in a minute big dog, something I don't know I mean.
I would just like this is just like yes or OK instead of the like sure sums up that like everyone I accidentally click on when yeah yeah.
try IT all well, let's try IT all. I'm excited. Take a break.
We got a bunch more stuff in the ad and out over there is still teaming with exciting headlines. So we'll get back to headlines in a hat. But before we take a break, trivia.
trivia in a hat.
in a hat.
Trivia in a hat.
It's like a cat.
And first question, U, S, B O T G O. The O, T, G stands for what? That's right.
I've never heard of U, S.
B. I like my phone, and you definitely .
heard of the U. S, B. T.
I know that, but I don't know that. You know, I mean.
yeah.
yeah like I know that standard, but I don't actually know the answer.
I can pick your exactly where that shows up on my phone. I'm just trying to .
remember what to stand. Adam would like IT to stand for over the guard and wall wish.
Oh, man, if every U S, B device how to over the garden wall like option.
can I propose something? Yes, this is, this is not multiple choice, right? Ring, not multiple. O, T, G is three letters. That is, can we get one point now per letter available?
And you have to get all three of them.
several, one or two. If I get one of the letters right, i'd be happy to get a point. No, okay, right? Well, I tried. I tried. We will be right back.
Support for the show today comes from net sweet, wondering what the future holds for the economy. So do economists and market experts. Is IT a bull or a bear market? Is inflation up or down? How does AI affect at all?

welcome back. We're taking to back now year two hops this time. This time is .
Andrews. Turn to the right.
you go, one, two, three.
three, two, one and else want to pull out.
Do you want to?
I'm cool. Fit disney A R V R .
walking floor. No, I saw this. Yeah, it's not quite the headline. And maybe as a headline that's like our tech version of the headline by there's a video from the disney imagining a department department thank you.
I don't know what that actually got um and they created this like really cool or what's hoda d floor? I'm sure you have seen where VR. Can we all agree that the most the thing that breaks emersion the most in V, R games is walking?
Okay, I have I can see where you're going with this. I know exactly what I want to say.
Now you can.
I feel I know where you're going.
okay. So like the the old walking things that i've seen, and maybe there's some other ones, but it's kind of like you either need to tell people or you need to use your controller. And then there was the .
one yeah where .
you're kind of like colombo walking .
IT like pulls .
you back into the middle. This is like a bunch of tiles that .
somehow they couldn't yes.
they like change direction by how you are walking and then you are walking without yeah and move bunch of other things as well yeah um but IT looks like potentially one of the cool ways to walk in V R.
It's kind of call video they have like there's this guy that works for disney research that's been working there for a very long time.
Just in a is lanny smooth me?
yeah. yes. He also invented that realistic lifelike aber.
that disney y what has been a .
telescoping saver that looks very comes out slowly and stuff um but this hole floor looks very soon yeah yeah so .
I have two different size I complaints just question Marks about IT. okay. One is where your other thing where you're like kind of around your way you can walk or run yeah IT feels like in a game if all you can do is walk, there's got to be some point in the game where you want to run or go little faster.
And I just wonder what happens on the surface. I don't really know. They had some cool um really cool, interesting things where he's like on a chair. Sliding is like all kinds of things. I think it's really cool and the tech is very impressive.
But the other thing about VR and moving around, which makes some of these um movement mechanics so difficult, is you also want to think the environment movement with your actual inner year feeling of movement. So the reason why teleport works so well is because you just pointed to spot on the ground and you snap there. And at no point do you feel the environment moving while you're not actually moving, right?
Because the second you do that and you can see movement, but you don't feel movement, you're just that's how like the notating feeling happens. And with this is like super cool. You're actually walking and you will see movement walking in the environment, but your inner ear will still not feel walking because you're not moving. So you .
are forward, if you're running a Better, you don't get like you.
Well, that's because you can see that you're not moving. So so you can see that you're not moving on a trial and your legs are fine, but you can feel that you're not moving. And then you can see it's so matches in the VR heads that you're walking and you can feel that you're not moving in your inner ear, but you see that you are moving so you still will feel.
But how is different from like the dome thing where you're like running V, R.
you're still moving? That will also be extremely. Have you used that? No, but I guarantee you will feel the same difference.
Yeah, i've used before in the thing and I was not pleasant.
I think .
that, yes, that's the .
fundamental reason why IT feels like motion sickness, like in the games in VR where you're sitting in a chair but you're moving through an environment that also tweak your baLance because you see that you're moving but you feel that you're not. That's why IT gives emotion sickness. So this doesn't change that, but it's still cool that you are like moving your legs, which I think is awesome.
You're going to have to put IT to the test and go to me.
This might be a good reason why a lot of A R games are more fun to move around in the R M. We change whole .
studio floor to this, so I don't have to walk.
run the opposite. You can also just send .
you place like he's using IT as different examples to have like I could see them using this in a show or something like one guys pretending to move an apple box around the floor and it's moving the apple box around the floor and still don't know what these tiles are exactly.
Yeah, I really like a .
kind of like slope in different directions. And in this, two people can be moving in opposite directions, which is wild it's just i've seen like .
this omi directional tremor before that IT detects like the direction that you're walking and IT moves you the office direction and I can go every every way yeah and that sort of works the same way um so this tile base thing seems kind of weird, maybe just because more modular IT looks like if you .
look really closely, it's like individual spinning disk.
like I G been in .
certain directions.
You feel the or push a little interesting .
like .
how hard you like, how fast you can walk if there's a certain like i'm .
now in the are all walking really?
Yes, it's a specific and they .
be working on because I do feel like that would be cool for to like work really well on a large flour.
Yes, I think there reason a lot of saying this is like the next step towards the holodeck, which for people that don't know and start track, there's like a room you can go in that basically like it's IT uses a but like projections and also like everything basically just turns the relation of what you want IT to be and there's whole plot lines of like don't get to lost in the holiday.
Ck, you have to remember that it's fake and it's not real life because people can get lost in there forever and they'll have the perfect world and they don't want to go back to reality. It's a very early conception of like, don't get lost in VR your your brain will right away and that real life is little more sad than the perfect of V, R. World.
but you have to deal date. But what if we're already in the VR world?
poway?
That's mulato very. But I like you are, think this is like the next day in IT. Because theoretically, if you had like a lightly like A R V R headset, you could go into a room that had all these tiles around IT. And you could walk around like you could be on a mountain field, you can be whatever you could be walking around and you just have no idea. So just like simulating anything for your brain, which is always find yeah.
simulation.
I thinks to be cool. I'm excited for when we are despite your your thing you're talking about can walk.
I'm convinced it's gonna more like what you said, Andrew. I think the this is going to get used. Most things like shows.
Yeah, he wasn't talking about IT just A R V R. I third in here because I do think that cool and we're talking about A R and V R and is mostly V R less A R yeah um but IT thinks when there's a really cool V R game and then the walking just completely .
takes you yeah you know I think this is going to be great for alright, no offence. I love your dog at them but picture this it's .
your dog fifteen degrees .
outside you don't want to take your dog for a walk that sucks slapped these gog's on your dumb dog room on this thing they can have the best walk in their life.
Your member.
have you seen that? Have vans? There's these like vans that come around the spring. It's crazy how fast.
so much money, something to do, the thing that they signed up to do. OK nih, next headline that I just picked out of a hat, I didn't shake. IT, i'm sorry, pixel nine renders are already leaking.
I was fast. I want to know that is january. I also want to know there were not surprised, only nine months. Oh, you could have an entire child in the time that is going to be before this product was about if you want to have a baby at the same time, the fix is launching do IT right now. So there are renders of the pixel nine pro.
I have just left, allegedly.
allegedly ders by unlikes in my smart Price as usual as a traditional I don't know what year and is because the same thing happens every year um but they are very weird looking. It's like the trend now is to make the front and the sides of everything look exactly like an iphone flat front, flat sides, metal rails. But the camera bump once again looks even .
more because looped into the rest everything is .
camera bump. Yeah, I really .
of it's a .
static island.
Part of what makes the pixel visor feel intentional? Yeah and even they did IT, I think even Better in previous pixel. But it's literally because IT feels like it's part .
of the the in the pixel six two different components, which is what made you look like as something .
they just want to look like both IT up together ah but when they got at all one piece, IT looks so IT looks like a good design.
looks like the way was supposed to be and .
like it's one big frame. And I like that and I feel like this is backwards. This new render, if you're on the video version, you can see this new render IT looks like, again, it's back to something bolted onto the back of a flat one, which I that's why I don't .
like for audio listeners, if you've ever seen a show me me band, uh, the me band is like this little module that gets put in this little rubberband that you put on your worst IT looks like the display of a show me me band that just bolted to the back of a phone maybe .
we should describe IT with something.
The story, okay, the last one was like a robot cop among us collapse. This one theyve just committed .
ah a giant camera. There are definitely still .
going for the visor vibe of IT stretching across the whole back of the screen. But just imagine in an oval instead of rolling over yeah very, but like very cut and dry, it's not rolling into the back. IT is a very hard ninety .
degree angle from this is razer.
They we don't have dust on the top of the bottom.
Let's put IT on the side. So razi yeah so otherwise it's an iphone whole punch. Why is twenty twenty four the year where everyone .
is making me I like flying rule? I'm happy.
I agree. Like I like the feeling of flats war that I guess I think it's less weird that like .
they are similar to the apple thing and just weird that samsung and google seems to be doing this in the same year. Like people like phones are making the switch all at the same time.
Yeah and just it's other rather .
as well .
yeah yeah yeah. But I think that the pixel 8 pro is the best looking pixel since the pixel six, since the big redesign. Like by far IT looks the most like put together.
and like single, like peace alloying body going a little bit back .
against the rails.
I like pigs.
I have a thing for the the six visor, even though I was clearly not as well .
integrated as the current one. Yeah actually this though kind of almost feels that vive, because all the cameras are in one singular piece of glass where the seven pro is two openings, right? It's like an oval and a circle.
So this is like one large over. And then you just have the flash and I R senor. And like, what is that nice google six or nine pro thermometer confirmed?
Well, I don't know here. First, what I don't worry .
to be on sale, find IT in best way somewhere.
flat rail, flat screen. Anyway, this is super early. Um we will confirm over the next nine months whether or not this correct and get back you on that.
I'm way more excited for tensor to get Better than for the design .
of the let's going to take take more generations, even the tc, right. Let's get to our second to last headline. In top of the snake draft, could be anything markets .
just .
turned around and looked directly at me while pulling out this thing that was mildly threatning.
IT says s twenty four uploads each T, R. photos. No.
no, no.
okay.
I didn't put.
have you never been on instagram? I have and then your eyes get burned to Smith rees because somebody upload a iphone video that has HDR on IT photos. You're just scroll in late at night, you're under your covers.
your minimum brightness and then well, that's exactly that feels. The difference is for you is exactly how feels your eyes yeah, that's that's the thing.
So currently a before twenty four, there was no H D R photo support on instagram, only H D R video. And that was really only enable through iphones S I believe ah but now with pixel ultra H G R. And because pixel alter H G R is like a standard and samsung like kind of making its like based on the standard. These are basically ultra dr photos and now instagram supporting IT.
Now you can be ambush by photos yeah while you're in low brightest.
this is a hot take possibly but like I don't think it's a good experience to be ambient's scrolling at one brightest and then not being able to control when everything just get suddenly brighter.
IT is weird. And I agree. And I think we probably need to have some sort of way for the, for the, for the phone to tell if you're in low brightest mode. Don't show me the huge dynamic range of this H D R photo. Show me an sdr version.
I think I should by default show sdr and then should be A H G R button.
Why I never never, never press good but but you never never change. No, like you've never been in like super dim lighting in on your phone and then got in to a video that just blasts the brightness.
But it's not even it's not even necessarily blasting the brain. So so H G R like alter H J on pixel. It's just adding an additional tone map to the j to the the JPEG um because JPEG usually get rid of a lot of the luminance data, so are the sorry, the prominent data.
And then they add this like a tone map on top. So it's the same JPEG but but with a illuminant map just like slapped on top. And so so some parts of that are super bright. The highlights and stuff are just way .
brighter than usual. OK, if you .
look like this is an H D R. Video, can you see how like the rest of the U. I looks just kind of like great out and darker. Yeah, I can see actually the year to the U. I is not great out in darker, but the video is just .
wee brighter OK. There is small. Okay, you.
this is therefore ault.
This is google faul. This is this apple s fall. I just for some reason theyve just decided that ultra H D R something that people want, even adobe is uh you can now edit try hd r photos in lighterman photoshop and it's like I don't want to have to edit image for S D R and H D R like it's onna double my my editing time if I have to make sure that IT looks good in both nodes. yeah. And there was nothing wrong with sdr in the first place.
H D R is .
Better is sometimes this is actually a lot of this talk is the same reason why I don't we don't upload HDR videos to youtube is because IT only looks good if the person watching IT is ready. Fresh share is watching high brightness. Each D R content has an H R monitor and like watches, IT, H D R.
yeah. And a lot of the other situations that file will look worse yeah if they don't have the right monitor or if they aren't in an H G R ready environment or there an a dim environment, whatever, just looks worse. So I just don't bother with yet to try to look make really good looking sdr content that is more compatible everywhere.
And how you are saying the same thing on in your gallery, you can be swiping through a bunch of sdr content and then swipe over to an H, R. video. And the screens goes, here we are, H, D, R. Again, that that experience of going back and forth, we can just have to get to a point where H. D, R is everything all the time for not there is always going to be back and forth, and that's tough.
Cameras are not going there. A button now in and photoshop that transforms sdr photos into H D R photos um but I don't like IT so yes it's a processing thing can just IT just like takes the highlight details and like brains them up and as a tone rap on top. But I don't I don't know I don't know personally. I just like I don't want to edit for two different types of displays all the time.
Similar old school sdr guy, I guess. Yeah .
the .
I I don't know. I think these companies are just like we have way brighter OLED displays now. We should take advantage of them and develop any technology that can take .
a buz like it's like a feature thing at this point.
And what we going to do with all these nuts? Yeah, I get all these extra nts. Well, now they know instagram at each dr. photos. Yeah.
so only on g axy right now is true. okay? yeah.
Well, only uploaded from galaxy, but they will assail .
your eyes everywhere.
nice. I love IT the benefit.
right? We should take quick break. We've got another headline in the hat. But before we get to that headline and the break, 确定。
Alright, so the world of storage mediums is a world full of acronis. We're familiar with the hits. We know RAM ah.
we know random access .
memories was bom .
and the next time .
IT is and we're played.
it's a good we .
know ROM random. nope.
But what is really.
what is the acronym for a storage that can be written a single time by a user and cannot be rewritten ever again?
Oh, penny paper.
a scantron is an example of this kind of memory. Actually.
I think I know this .
perhaps by guessing.
And there is an that .
for everything. There's nothing for David.
like the best resolution, audio, video, integrated architecture.
Oh, song, all right.
You know, I love about .
this trivial question. How just raised the energy .
of the room is so high. We also are thinking, just like the people acronis.
I give acronyms are a lot of thinking. I don't know this is everyone .
washing the dishes, just like stop washing.
Here's a question. Do we need to know just the action or you need .
to what that stands? I was looking for the accurate.
but why don't we throw a bonus OK? Can we know how many letters that is? So some of us can guess maybe if some of the people here don't know what IT is, they can just guess. I think that's fair. No, clearly, no one knows what that is OK.
We'll be right back.
I'll be a learning experience will be back.
Support for the show comes from crucible moments, a podcast from the coia capital. We've all had turning points in our lives where the decisions we make end up having lasting consequences. No one knows this Better than the founders of some of today's most influential, incredible moments.
Let's listeners in on the maker break events that defined major companies like dropbox, youtube, Robin hood and more told by the founders themselves. Tune in to the season two of crucial moments. Today you can listen at crucial moments.
Stop or wherever you listen to podcasts. Alright, welcome back to the snake draft. Ske draft, I was the last one ago, but that means I go again because because the snake draft, top of the like, a snake that .
was that OK.
right? We ve got two headlines left. This one, oh, this one says rose rice or we're being .
pretty creative with the terminal headline, but we're just writing down things we like .
on this is just.
No, we review the rules. Rice, the electrical rice. And that thing is insane.
Can we all go around and say a favor part about IT? yes. Okay, perfect. Can I start IT was just have to start with the fundamentals of what IT is. So is the rose rice spector.
Uh, if you haven't heard of the rose rice spector, picture a rose rice, a gigantic two door coup with a back seat. IT is full of electric IT gets too sixty miles of range, is got about five hundred fifty horse power and six hundred pound three to talk. IT has all the world's royce stuff, the stars in the ceiling, the umbrella in the door, and it's four hundred thousand dollars.
Go you said, giggles, tic coup. yeah. That is, people need to understand that because, yes, IT is a coop.
But that thing is the doors open backwards. Suicide doors yeah there are suicide doors. They open like room and then you have to like climb into the back if you're in the back side, but it's a full size see so weird it's it's like usually those back seat are very .
cramped for context. Yeah, the river, an r one t is two hundred and seventeen inches long. That is a pick up truck with a four foot bed.
Yeah, the rose specter is two hundred and sixteen inches long. So it's basically the same size as a pickup truck. Jesus from front.
Bec, okay. Oh, so now that the fundamentals are right of the way, it's a electric, it's a elective, then a coops. Sorry, would you like Better?
I likes that we want to walk, walk in same.
You can put the .
photo in her, adam, that is about IT that people was the interior there is these like little twinkling lds that are all over IT. Even though that probably cost my fifteen cents, IT was still very .
really I hear it's pretty .
pricing the is yeah .
everything and .
pretty I mean, they're nice yeah .
they're they were high .
refered these are .
they is this the same question .
or the I don't think there that's an interesting point, but I would still have an L, D in the backup. I thought they could have been is sometimes at people, L, D, folk nowadays will put a Foster layer inside of the bulb so that the elect or the photons flying off the L. D, excite this Foster layer .
and produce .
a more .
natural glow.
Don't cross my .
great.
I think the the heating of the seats was Better than the heating of any other seats that I have heated before.
nice. Yeah, that's actually a really teacher. I luxury vehicle IT felt nice. Yeah, okay. I like, like, I don't .
know if the carpet .
is the correct .
term for this is the two .
inch the snow.
And so and I was fill .
the same way after hearing lambs.
all all .
this feels like some animal.
yeah, yeah. Feel worse about IT.
yeah. He was so soft, made no sense of being the place, right? Put my feet after walking in the snow, although i'm sure they weren't happy that we were all walking in this now and going like, but yeah, he was way too plush to just .
be the cars flowing is very front, back. Yeah, yeah. So you like the lame wall.
What did you like my life?
So use the word soft to describe my carpet. I use the words off to describe everything about that car OK. This suspension was very soft, the steering was very soft, but most interestingly, the throat response and breaking are very, very gradual and soft.
So in your model, three, if you stamp the accelerate pedal, little three, your head back, yeah. And i'll get like a jot forward. If you stamp the accelerator pedal in this car, IT will flow forward.
IT will not throw your head back. And the generative breaking, which is one pedal breaking as well. No, when you let your foot off the accelerator and IT starts to slow down, IT does this really smooth? That sounds also small. Yes.
I also driving on IT the new jersey roads. They just that after the gym stuff. But the new jersey roads are monitors ously pot hole in very bumpy IT did kind of feel like we're just drifting .
on twenty three and trials that made you feel like you on a cloud, I don't know, is a difference.
But I would very impressive that when you said IT slows up and slows down, you said, punch the accelerator, what you vote. They be like, slam the breaks. Nice, smooth. They smooth right into the back of that truck in trafic.
Now you can rate hard, you can rate hard. But IT like the regenerate breaking was super. Also the quiet as I .
think more regenerated breaking should be smooth. Like i'm still very surprised when like you even have the opportunity to let go and just slam forward if you're not.
Yeah I mean, there's levels of smooth, but this one was extremely, especially in the last couple of miles an hour like you know how you'll get to zero and job back. This one never did that. We just slow down to zero. You just nice arrive.
I love driving because your muscle memory like eventually knows how far you need to just let off the accelerator before you will just like stop right at the stop by the skill. It's so fun to just guess every time and you're always correct. Yes, great.
You guys rote in IT.
I like that the events for the air conditioning um were made out of either like a chrome played brass or maybe some sort like polished ten but IT is a nice semi heavy metal that when you're .
flick IT goes like champagne.
Y my favorite .
thing and .
I couldn't figure out if I was going. You're not until I got back and cooled the hell out of IT and i'm not going crazy. The stars on the roof, occasionally they have a shooting star. The whole time we driving in IT, I was just staring at IT like what I know, I saw a shooting, adam, I went. We were helping mile shoot .
something at at one point. Why we are still part. Was that a shooting star? You're like what I was like, I can't I can't prove was really or not.
You see a media your life and .
you really trust me that, well, I didn't know. Did you guys know you can get a stars on the doors as well? There only thirty thousand dollars to get them there. How good is that if you're losing .
money in pain?
Was also 3 oh my god, sorry, just the purple part of the paint. The and silver in the middle was ten grand more on top of the purple .
and the and together is twenty .
three and A T.
Mark, as you know.
that's probably the second time you are powered by a rolls royce power plant in the past few weeks.
I mean.
because royce also makes the trent engine option on the boeing triple seven that you often and find yourself going to the west coasts.
That's a fantastic c point. But I will push back the rolls very specter is actually powered by essentially the B M W I seven electric, right? So the road race makes .
actually the B M of you. I seven para trainer is powered .
by the model t but actually though, so it's the I seven has a presumed size battery and the do motor set in all. But the rose rice is just putting a totally different chats and body in suspension on top of that. And it's very world's voice and very quiet and luxury. And it's got this A D couple anti robo tech. Well, like one wheel at a time goes through pottles and you never feel .
anything awesome but it's a nice .
seven and only only ways sixty five and japan's until this car has the CS undi ionic five sideways crab tires. I don't .
want IT that's but when .
I hundred thousand yes, what IT does? Yeah yeah I know.
Yeah sorry.
I was four hundred grand starting. We had like about one hundred twenty round of options.
So it's like five hundred. You had three of my Fosters as options.
We are nine, seven options.
I got here a little late that day and there was only one spot left, right next to the road's rose, and I had to reverse into IT. That was.
I just scraped the concrete well on the .
other sites .
to make sure he didn't.
Pretty headline.
It's a mini headline ways that .
minor is yours because this just not that had mine .
is just a thing we want to talk about.
Yes, the one plus twelve and twelve are so some know that one twice launch very this is twelve and twelve .
but I .
just yeah now I I we've .
been testing .
so .
i've had this .
phone for a week longer than i've had the s twenty four ultra and hand. We ve all had to find x 7a ultra and i've just haven't gotten enough time to test of them。 But I want to at least mention this phone and talk about IT briefly really good fun.
Um I I think a lot of people like IT, when I review the one plus eleven, a lot of my set, my a what's the word sentiment? Yes, I was. You basically said that .
I was just .
I couldn't remember second letter. A lot of the sentiment was very much like one plus is back. They kind of straight a little bit.
They get rid of the alert slater, the software. One kind of side ways, the hassle bad thing was gone. They brought IT all back.
And so one pleven was a solid come back in a good phone for them. This is very much unexpected ded with a lot of twenty twenty four special version of that phone. Yeah, it's got a Better telephoto.
It's got the snapdragon to agent three and it's got that super bright like twenty five, twenty six hundred needs all that we're seeing so often. So those things like really bring IT in the four, all rest of stuff software, let's slighter the house, what camera, all that good stuff that you expect. No one plus phone.
Yeah the get phone. I haven't made a whole review of IT because that's kind of my observations and then I didn't feel like I was a whole bunch. I have a lot to say about a different former reviewing right now. So that will be a video I wanted to bring us out and at least have that in the hat because one place tolls.
a good IT is eight hundred dollars, which is a pretty good Price. Yeah, like that. They did sort of they are still sort of using the OPPO U X U I.
which I don't love, and they merged, like oxyde s to.
They merged together. They originally changed that to be called color O S. A lot of people got upset. And then what they kind of ended up doing was just on one plus phones calling oxy, but not changing. I think they were like, our community will shut up if we just call IT oxyde again, which if you remember, oxygen s only exists because of the sign agent debo, which you should go watch their episode on side engine mode, death, roy.
But um yeah so I don't know someone .
on twitter put up a comparison between oxyde and the color OS that's on IT because they flash on an old oxyde to IT. And I just feel like old one plus auction O S had a much more cohesive, like brand identity, a lot of the APP. And I know that at the end of the day, a lot of this literally comes down to the APP icons and like the way that the overnight as the quick settings menu looks. And it's not that big deal. I the quick things.
when is a big thing? Like I like I I want you to feel the haptics, hold this phone and hit that clear button and just feel the haptics.
Good or bad? I don't use, I don't use any wait.
you like living .
to so no is like .
a triple tap.
Yeah IT was IT like.
can I have I I up?
Yeah ah I like show up. Yeah mi shami, yeah, he is up the phone prick.
I will say looking at the .
phone from this angle, the one thing I noticed is that IT does not look like .
an iphone IT was you said IT got all the twenty twenty four things other than .
flat age yes, I did not flat near ges. Um okay here. So hit the clear notification button.
Oh right. Like very precise. Like, but I love that. yeah. And I felt IT like IT felt us in three distinct zones.
like a cat person. I only you could make a more r to get optics on a smart one that we should .
report them. And if you're feeling IT and not hearing, I do anything as somewhere means.
yes, audio, sensory, something, response.
It's a feeling catching. The twelve r is also coming out at the five dollars comes with, uh, last year's snapdragon eight gen two instead of the gen three. Um so it's A I mean, that's a very good right here. go.
I wish you got the Green, the Green, the great looks, amazing Green marble.
I never thought I would live in a world. Where are the black version of something I would have the Green version. You very for a while, I feel like you're warm.
So it's not the Green that's fasting to me. It's the marbly pattern on the one that happens to be Green, right?
If there was a marble's pattern, the of the camera module has the little turning, that kind looks like a lens. And IT has also about logo there. So if you have seen the OPPO find x seven ultra.
IT has many, many of the same features of the x seven ultra, just with a little bit different body style. But a lot of things are very similar to the extremely but bright display, all of that kind of stuff. yes. Yeah optical. So that's a thing.
yeah. So there's the review you I was just .
going to say, markiss, i'm putting you on the spot. Are we getting a review of this thing or not?
I don't unless. I mean, we are about to be spoiled pretty busy. So it's not like this that will be able to get to everything we want to just because how busy are about to get.
But if if you must know, I do think this is a good fun, like the purpose of the review is for people to be able to decide if it's good or if it's not good. This falls under good phone, which I think is a really good place to just be happy, get fun. So one post twelve, good go. Good luck. Good luck.
Well, yes, I like .
everybody. okay? That's IT for a headlines, which means the head is empty and take the world for trivia.
Via did.
Trivia did so quick update on the score markets with twenty one Andrew with sixteen, David with twenty. Oh, I got to keep you on your toes. First question.
who Carried the one?
Was someone in my studio video comment and just Carry the one and I I come on and give .
me so like, Carry the one day. I like it's a movement.
I like that just like a secret code that shows that .
you listen .
the way, eats waffles at breakfast.
whatever I thought like the old symbol on your head.
No, there was like, there is this in the early days of remagen was like a secret phrase that you would say to people in public to see if they were reddys.
And now you just lie about .
using everything. When does the naval back up? then? Everyone around last time.
what did he just say?
What did you say? Sound the editor anyway.
first question. yes. yeah. U S, B, O, T, G.
What does the O, T, G stand for? Not to be confused with O D B legendary rubber. David, don't look so confused.
I was confused.
I may or may not have pressed the button twice.
so how is a little longer now?
Don't worry .
about IT 不是人。 No.
no, I think.
I'm so wrong. Me too.
I flip. I even .
think I .
like to start this.
Okay, here's exciting. This is the beach.
Hear me out. I wrote down all the ones I think I know. U, S, B, O, T, G, U, S, B is universal serial bus. That's correct.
Does he get a point? You don't. A .
that waiting.
T, G sensor, something transfer.
something no universal.
Over the all.
over the White go.
over the head.
over the hedge. They clam two thousand. I put over the gateway. I really .
about that over .
the that is probably also wrote over.
but I didn't right that .
set to you with over the garden wall. That's too. It's actually .
on the go.
H, I knew that USB on. I knew that.
嗯, guys both got okay.
That's true.
Do we have no you ready when you guys .
feel stupid? If I giving you a point for the no.
I would see me if IT married the way.
why? What is USB on the go?
So was first, okay? I think he was like the first version of USB that was the first like additional version of USB that was announced after the original USB protos. right?
That I don't yeah. But according to wikipedia, IT was a specification first use in late two thousand, one that allows USB devices such as tablets or smart phones to also act as a host, and allowing other USB devices, flat digital cameras and I able to be attached to.
yes, okay, this is a big thing because transfer devices at the time, like the ipod and that kind of stuff, they're like, well, these are just portable computers. So like, why don't we just allow you to store things on on portable able devices as opposed to like only your computer at home can store your stuff? Why don't we allow your like ipod or whatever M P three player device you have to just like have stuff on IT so you can bring .
into another computer and move?
Question number two, the world of storage mediums. S is a world full of acronis were familiar with the hits RAM and RAM. But what is the acronym for storage that once IT is written by a user, cannot be rewritten?
I got this wow, that's a sharp heel turn .
from the bar confidence .
or you're like, I definitely don't got this USB over the head.
What's alright?
So mine is S, T, O, I, I, W, B, A, U, C, N, B, R, W, A, storage. That what? really? God.
wow, ander.
we're going .
to discuss that later.
Warm, right? Only memory.
So close wrong.
I wrote ROM really only memory also very .
close to to .
saying that in baby talk i'm .
going to zoom in and David, right now, his face, because I want you to guys to see his reaction. When else tells .
what IT the answer is? Warm right? Once read many right .
as well.
And that's i'm .
so glad that we didn't .
get that right and got that moment. We get that's Better than getting IT right.
Hi markers down like how much .
of a space there is here for but it's the wrong space.
Wow there is um there .
is reading many so there .
is a running .
joke in the tech community that is warm right only memory because the idea that you could write unreadable memory sort of like is that even be ready at that point here?
Think great point no but IT is .
I think there's actually a wikipedia page that is right only memory and then in panta is joke nice.
It's kind of like the over avian career. It's I like the over AV cae quest .
for comment for I P of avian Carry yeah, wow, warm. That was one.
Wo wow.
the last time we ve got a .
tribe question you.
yeah.
that's what I was asking.
Yeah, oh my god.
Well, you know, I forgot about that. It's not about the questions you get right? Is about the learning experience.
the end you make along the way. I I want to ask a question, do I get in a dish a bonus point? Because when I turn IT upside down, IT says the same thing.
the space is in a difference. but.
No.
okay. And with that, will wrap up away form for the week. Thanks for joining us for a headlines in a hat. If you have any other headlines, you'd like us to react, to drop in the comments, maybe put them in the head next week or maybe we will just be incredibly busy .
and have other things to talk.
One of the other might happen but in either case, um thanks for describing and for watching and we will catch you guys in next on Epace b y.
We produce ork.
I really want to get a magic. Can't shall that.
I was sick. Support for this show comes from the aclu. The acl u knows exactly what threats a second Donald trump term presents, and they are ready with a battle tested playback.
