在英语里，一般用on a bus表示在公交车上，为什么in a bus是错误的表达呢？我们先学习一下on这个介词的用法吧。

(覆盖、附着)在…上(意指接触物体表面或构成物体表面的一部分);由…支撑着;在(运输工具)上

on a bus/on the bus 在公交上

on a/the train 在火车上

on a/the ship 在大船上

on a/the plane 在飞机上

在英语里，当on的意思是在交通工具上时，on的适用范围是比较广阔的空间，适用于乘客有较大走动范围的交通工具。所以在飞机上、在火车上、在地铁上、在船上、在公共汽车上，一般都用on。

例句：

She lost her wallet and laptop on the train yesterday.

昨天在火车上，她的电脑和钱包丢了。

I fell asleep on the bus and missed my stop .

我在公交车上睡着了，而且睡过站了。

They are eating their breakfast on the plane.

他们正在飞机上吃早餐。

in a car = 在汽车上

我们可以看到，in指的是进入某个空间里，一般是密闭狭窄、没什么走动范围的交通工具。在汽车上、在出租车上和在直升机上我们都用的是in。

He is in a helicopter with his parents.

他和父母都在直升机上。
