"Mum's the word" 的真实含义
意思是 “保密！别告诉任何人”，
用于提醒对方守住秘密，相当于 “Keep it a secret” 或 “Don’t breathe a word”。
“mum” 模仿闭口时发出的 “嘘” 声，象征 “保持沉默”，
最早可追溯到 19 世纪英国。
“the word” 指 “暗号、口令”，
组合起来就是 “以‘沉默’为口令”，引申为 “保密”。
例句：
叮嘱别人保密：
A: Did you hear about Sarah’s surprise party?
