Good morning. How are you? I'm so excited that you're here with me today. Thank you so much for taking a little bit of time out of your Monday to be with me. As you can see, I'm not in my normal scene right now. I am actually visiting family in Arizona. I am from Arizona. And today I have a special guest with me, my sister. Can you tell we're sisters? Hello.
So there are six kids in my family. Christy's the oldest, and I'm number four. And I think out of everyone, we kind of look the most alike. I think so. Yeah. And because I just cut my hair, we definitely look even more alike. We are going to get started with a really beautiful meditation today. And this is a meditation I just kind of wanted to riff about for just a second, because I feel...
I feel this so passionately and the more I hear from our community and from our listeners, I'm recognizing this as a very consistent theme that is happening out there, a consistent theme that our listeners are experiencing. So I would love to know if this rings true for you. So this is the way that it's brought to me. Katie, I'm feeling like I want to do something else in my career, but I can't.
Katie, I feel like I should be doing this thing over here, but I can't, I'm too busy. I really would love to do X, Y, or Z, but it's just, it's not in the cards for me. I really feel like there's something else that, you know, that would make my life more enjoyable, but that's just not for me right now. It's not the season. And I'm calling this a little bit of a rumbling. And so I would love to know,
As we get started with our meditation, and I'll guide you through this, I would love to know if there are areas of your life where you feel a rumbling, where you feel sort of a disconnect, where you feel some sort of energy inside of you that just doesn't seem to line up with who you really are, who your true nature really, really is, what your soul is here for. And I'll give you one example.
I had a TV interview with a woman quite some time ago and she was absolutely lovely. Really like she was the picture of success. She had an incredible TV career. She had two young kids, gorgeous, you know, took care of her body, super fit, very happy. And within just a couple of minutes of our conversation, she let me know like, man, I wish I could do what I really love to do.
And I said, well, what, what might that be? And she goes, I don't know. I just feel like I've sort of done this career and that's what I signed up for. And that was the path that I was on. And just like, I don't know, like, I feel like I'm, I'm done with it. I should be doing something else. But when I asked her, well, why don't you, why don't you start exploring with X, Y, or Z? And she completely retracted in and said, I can't do that. I can't do that. Like I'm already on this path.
And it just, it made me recognize that that exists in all of us in many times of our lives. So I'll turn the question to you. Are there times or are there moments when you have felt in order for my soul to feel fully expressed and fully me, it would look like this?
And that doesn't look like what my life looks like right now. So I'm just going to ask you to sort of sit with that question for a little bit right now, as we do a meditation called a deep alignment meditation, because what I ultimately believe is that the answers to some of these rumblings, some of these discomforts, some of these disconnects between who we are and what our outside world actually looks like is an alignment. And much like
the visual of a hose, if you will. If a hose is all kinked up, the water really can't quite get through and we end up with these drips of water coming out on the other side. But if we unkink the hose, if we allow alignment to exist within us, our outside world ends up being and being the manifestation of our inside world. And all that water can flow easily and beautifully.
So today's meditation is going to be a guided one that will help you unkink that hose and come into deep alignment. Okay? So if you are in a place where you can, go ahead and close your eyes. Let's just begin by bringing our attention onto our breath, keeping it nice and steady in its own natural rhythm, breathing in through your nose and out through your nose. Follow.
the smooth motion, the circular motion of your breathing, letting yourself breathe in just a little longer with every inhale and breathe out just a little more with every exhale, bringing all of your attention into this breath, this motion, this moment. And as thoughts begin to tickle your brain and ask for your attention, just allow them to float away into the air
and disappear as you bring yourself back into this beautiful calming rhythm of breathing now with a nice calm peaceful body peaceful mind see if you can explore for just a moment taking a little inventory of your life a little inventory of your emotions a little inventory of your dreams where might there be some rumblings inside of you
Where might there be some inconsistencies that exist between what is here for your soul to express in this life, to be, and what you see and experience in your everyday life? See if you can just observe this garden of your internal world without judgment, without shoulds, without shame, just observing with love.
imagining, if you will, a beautiful garden of flowers and vegetables growing inside of you. Where are the ones that are not really you? And just take a moment to feel into it and to identify these little spaces of rumblings, these little pieces of your garden that are not really here for you. And if you're able, go ahead and
Imagine yourself picking one of them out of this garden, bringing it out from its soil so you can see the entire thing. And perhaps this plant has been planted with good intentions, expectations, norms given to you by the world, by yourself, by others. Perhaps underlying it all is fear. Fear of the unknown.
fear of change, fear of being ridiculed or not accepted. Whatever is here is here. Just look upon it without judgment and with compassion. Now what might it look like for you to set that plant aside out of your garden and instead plant a seed from your soul?
Plant a seed that allows your soul to be in full, lively expression of itself. See how the sun shines a bit brighter and the birds sing a little louder when you are brave enough to be yourself. To allow your inner world to manifest and be lived in the life outside. Watch that seed grow.
Just be here with the flower that blossoms, breathing it in and holding it in your hand. Feel its energy lighten you and cleanse you and enhance you. This is alignment, allowing your soul to be fully expressed despite the fear, past the expectations.
in full bloom. Be here for just a little moment, a little bit more with this beautiful flower of yours, feeling the calm and the peace from the inside out. And when you're ready, place your hand on your heart and take a big deep breath in. And on your exhale, let it all go.
