To begin, find a peaceful and comfortable space where you can sit in tranquility. Close your eyes and allow yourself to relax. The purpose of today's meditation is to cultivate mindfulness, to help you as healers balance your profound desire to aid others with your own self-care. The technique we will be employing is mindfulness meditation, a practice that will help you to remain present and non-judgmental.

allowing you to observe your thoughts and feelings without attachment or identification. Before we delve into the meditation, here's a quick tip: Remember that it's not selfish to prioritize your own well-being. To serve others effectively, you must first ensure your own cup is full. Let us begin. Take a deep cleansing breath in, filling your lungs entirely.

Now exhale slowly, releasing any tension or stress you may be holding. Allow your breath to find its natural rhythm as you settle into the present moment. Visualize a scale, balancing delicately. On one side, place all your desires to help and heal others. On the other, your commitment to self-care. Notice if the scale is unbalanced. Is it tipping more to one side? Just observe. There's no need to judge or change anything. Simply become aware.

Now let's explore the side of the scale filled with your desire to serve others. As you breathe in, imagine your healing energy reaching out to those in need. As you breathe out, let any feelings of exhaustion, burnout or overextension dissolve. Allow your thoughts to flow freely, observing them as an impartial spectator. This desire to help, is it linked to a specific person, an event or a general feeling?

Whatever arises, acknowledge it, then let it pass like clouds in the sky. Next, shift your focus to the self-care side of the scale. As you take a deep breath in, imagine a warm, healing light enveloping you. As you exhale, let go of any guilt or resistance you may feel towards prioritizing your own well-being. Ask yourself, what does self-care mean to you? Is it rest, nourishment, self-compassion?

Whatever thoughts surface, simply note them and let them drift away. Take a few moments now to breathe, observing the ebb and flow of your thoughts, your feelings, staying present and detached. Now visualize your scale again. This time, see it balancing perfectly, symbolizing your harmony between serving others and caring for yourself.

Feel a sense of peace and equilibrium filling your being as you hold this image in your mind. Acknowledge and accept that both sides of the scale are essential parts of you. Your desire to heal others is as significant as your need for self-care. Breathing in, honor your commitment to others. Breathing out, honor your commitment to yourself. Now gently bring your focus back to your breath. Notice the rise and fall of your chest.

the cool sensation as you inhale, the warm release as you exhale. Feel the sense of balance and calm within you. Let this feeling of inner harmony and well-being permeate every cell of your body, every corner of your mind. Remember, it is from this place of balance and inner peace that you can truly extend your healing touch to others. Feel free to continue in this meditation as long as you like.

Always remember, self-care is not a detraction from your service to others, but a necessary part of it. As you nurture your own well-being, you become better equipped to foster the well-being of others.
