So let's go ahead and start. This week, we're going to do a series on why you're stuck on social media. The first reason why you're stuck on social media is...

Because you think that your brand is the house you're selling or the brokerage you're with. Ladies, it is not. Your brand is you. It is your face. It is your voice. The only way you're going to gain prospective clients is to letting them know who you are on social media so that they can trust you on the sale or purchase of their home. If all you're doing is

It's putting up a constant stream of pretty posts with generic phrases like, just sold, 100% over list price, or on market now, hurry before it's gone, or just listed, or quite frankly, market updates.

Y'all, you're not giving out a humanized voice. You are not given human vibes at all. Your social media looks like a robot just produced it and it can be beautiful and you can sit back and look at it and go, but look at all the white space or the pretty pink I put on or, oh my God, the logo I just paid $5,000 to have someone create for me looks amazing on that post. And that's great.

But that logo in that post is not getting you future business. In fact, it's probably getting people to eventually stop following your page and stop paying attention to your post. The only way that algorithms are going to keep you at the top of someone's feed is if someone wants to engage with what you put on social media. That's why it's called engagement. And nobody wants to engage with generic stuff. I mean, let's be honest.

Do you go to the Lincoln car page and engage with their post about the new aviator? Um, no, you don't. I mean, we all love Matthew McConaughey and he looks pretty good on that ad, but I'm still not going to comment on it. It's the same way with your business. Stop thinking that your social media brand is the house you're selling. It's not ladies. You're selling yourselves.

and your personality and who you are as a professional in order to gain the trust of your future clients. So go ahead, get your cameras out.

Start doing some video. Start putting your voice on your social media. Stop just putting just listed and just sold post. If you're wondering, by the way, if you have a social media like I'm describing right now, okay, take a second or go ask a friend to maybe go look at your last nine posts and

And then tell yourself, would a stranger be able to learn anything about you? Or would they only see stuff about your listings? Would they only see market statistics? Would they only know what color your logo is or what brokerage you're with? If they know nothing about you or the team that you're running, they're not going to call you.
