Bonjour, aujourd'hui la leçon est coup de théâtre. Robert Francis Prevost, un Américain, est élu pape sous le nom de Léon XIV, suscitant surprise et espoir au Vatican.
Once again, Robert Francis Prévost, un Américain, est élu pape sous le nom de Léon XIV, suscitant surprise et espoir au Vatican. Alors on commence avec le nom de ce pape. C'est un nom français. On dit en anglais Prévost, mais en fait c'est un nom français qui doit être prononcé Prévost, normalement. Robert Francis Prévost.
Et c'est un Américain. Un Américain qui a été élu. C'est le participe passé du verbe « élire ». « Elected », « élu ». Exemple. Pour être élu, il faut la majorité des voix. Sous le nom...
Il a été élu pape, pope, sous le nom. Donc, avec le nom, with the name. On dirait tout simplement ici as en anglais. Sous le nom de Léon XIV. Léon en français, attention, pas Léo. Léon XIV. C'est le nom que M. Prévost a choisi pour devenir pape. C'est son nom de pape.
« Suscitant » participe présent du verbe « susciter », c'est-à-dire « provoquer », « susciter », « provoquer », « sparking », « susciter la surprise » et « l'espoir ». Alors, on a retiré les articles. On peut dire « suscitant surprise et espoir ».
C'est une formule plus littéraire que de dire « suscitant la surprise et l'espoir ». L'espoir, c'est « hope » en anglais. L'espoir. Au Vatican, vous savez, le Vatican, c'est un petit pays, tout petit pays au sein de Rome, la capitale de l'Italie.
